00:00 I'm Jill Painter Lopez with Sports Illustrated joined by Melissa Roland.
00:09 And Melissa, some hopeful news for everybody in sports as Dr. Anthony Fauci said, hey,
00:14 sports could conceivably start the summer.
00:17 What do you think that would mean for the NBA?
00:19 He said that there could possibly be a pathway for sports to return and that pathway would
00:24 include absolutely no fans in stadiums.
00:27 And it would mean the teams were sequestered together in a hotel and that they were tested
00:33 weekly if not more often.
00:35 So there could potentially be a pathway to sports returning, which obviously is a very
00:39 exciting notion for us.
00:41 That being said, I know in the NBA specifically, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver recently said
00:47 that he's not making any decisions regarding the NBA, at least until May.
00:52 He wants to sit back and assess where we are nationally and internationally with the COVID-19
00:58 pandemic.
00:59 But it's positive news and potentially exciting news to know that there could be a pathway
01:04 to sports returning.
01:06 And certainly promising for the Lakers, who are trying to win their first championship
01:10 in 10 years.
01:11 Thanks so much, Melissa.
