00:00I'm Melissa Rowland with Sports Illustrated, and we're here with Jill Painter-Lopez.
00:09Now, Jill, KCP of the Lakers has done a couple of special things during the COVID-19 pandemic,
00:15and he recently recorded a special video thanking the medical community.
00:19Tell us a little bit about what he's done during this time.
00:22Well, Melissa, we haven't heard a lot from KCP, but the things that we're hearing are
00:26basically thankful messages to the medical community, UCLA Health Training Center.
00:32We saw the Lakers light that up in blue.
00:35That was a neat thing.
00:37KCP has been doing messages, the stay home, hey, let's help everybody out.
00:41We appreciate all that you're doing, everybody on the front line.
00:44And then he also had Dr. Nina Shapiro on, and they did a Q&A basically just talking
00:49about the pandemic.
00:51And she mentioned, you know what, so many people feel like because they're staying at
00:54home that they're not doing anything.
00:56And she's like, that's the best thing you can do, you're helping keep everybody safe.
01:00And one thing that I thought was very cool about their conversation, Melissa, was she
01:04said, you know, it takes a team.
01:06And of course, basketball players can understand a team thing.
01:09She's like, this is about a team effort.
01:10She said, you know, few people can't solve this.
01:13Millions of people can't even solve this.
01:15She said it's going to take millions and millions of people to solve this.
01:18She goes, you know, we're all coming together.
01:20And she goes, look at us, too.
01:21She's like, we've never met.
01:22We both work in the city of L.A. and we're coming together to talk about this and help
01:25other people.
01:26So basically, he was just giving a message of thanks and wanted to create some awareness
01:31and what he and the Lakers are doing, I think is pretty cool.
