00:00 I'm Jill Painter Lopez with Sports Illustrated here with our very own Melissa Rowland.
00:11 And Melissa, so much being made of Michael Jordan right now and the Last Dance documentary.
00:15 And he was asked if he in his prime could play anybody in their prime, who would it
00:20 be?
00:21 Well, who would it be?
00:22 He named a handful of guys.
00:24 Among them, Kobe Bryant.
00:26 He said that the only guy who would be able to beat him was Kobe, and that's because Kobe
00:30 steals all of his moves, which actually there is a lot of truth to that.
00:35 Kobe grew up absolutely admiring Michael Jordan.
00:37 He was his hero.
00:38 He emulated the way he talked.
00:40 He imitated his moves.
00:41 He incorporated them into his own.
00:43 And that obviously helped him become a five-time NBA champion, two-time finals MVP, and one-time
00:48 regular season MVP in 2008.
00:50 It would be really interesting if we could see Kobe and MJ go one-on-one in their prime.
00:54 I don't know who I'd pick, Jill.
00:57 I'd go with Kobe and Melissa.
00:58 I mean, just his will to win is incredible.
01:01 And if Michael Jordan himself is saying Kobe could beat him one-on-one, I'm going to go
01:04 with that.
01:05 Good point.
