00:00 I'm Melissa Roland with Sports Illustrated and we're here with Jill Painter-Lopez.
00:06 And in the middle of a pandemic and after George Floyd's death, amongst all of the unrest
00:11 in the country, Jared Dudley tweeted about something that has been bothering him and
00:17 that's supermarket prices going up and them taking advantage of these situations.
00:21 What did he say, Jill?
00:23 Well, Melissa, he retweeted an article that talked about grocery store prices up 4.2%.
00:29 And he said, "This is not right.
00:32 Unemployment rates are still at an all-time high."
00:34 And certainly I think he's correct there.
00:37 Jared Dudley has been one of the Lakers, including LeBron James, Kyle Kuzma, has been using his
00:42 voice to discuss things like the pandemic, George Floyd's death, and certainly now grocery
00:47 store prices.
00:48 So I think the more people who are raising their voices about this increase in food,
00:53 which we know one of the most important things that people need to buy, whether they have
00:58 jobs or not, is certainly food for their families.
01:01 So again, credit Jared Dudley for taking a stand and tweeting about that article about
01:06 the rising cost of groceries.
