00:00The NBA's futures betting market is back and we are taking a look at the Los Angeles Lakers.
00:07Joining me now from all Lakers is Melissa Rowland and SI's fantasy and gambling analyst
00:11Corey Parson.
00:12Corey, let's talk about the Los Angeles Lakers and the matchup set they're going to have.
00:17What do you like going into the playoff bubble?
00:19Well, when you're trying to bet championship futures, especially when it comes down to
00:23matchup, I think it's three teams that you have to focus on.
00:26You've seen the Eastern Conference, you've seen the Milwaukee Bucks, you've seen how
00:28powerful and dominant they have been this year.
00:31And then the Western Conference is the two teams that play in the Staples Center, the
00:34Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers.
00:36Right now, let's talk Lakers, Bucks.
00:39Right now, you can get for plus $300 on the FanDuel Sportsbook.
00:42I think that's pretty good.
00:43When you look at the Lakers coming into the season, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, the way
00:47they've been built, and on the other side with Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee
00:50Bucks, it's kind of looking like this is going to be a showdown that we see.
00:53Now, with that being said, the Clippers could step in the way of this also, but Kawhi Leonard
00:58and the strong team they have over there.
01:00And you know what?
01:01The Lakers could catch some heat going along the way, especially from the Memphis Grizzlies,
01:05who's likely going to be their first round opponent.
01:07I'm looking for LeBron James to go zero dark 30, like he always does.
01:11So go black, go dark on social media, not hand too much from LeBron, and focus on the
01:16NBA playoffs.
01:17And I think the Lakers will be able to get there.
01:19All right.
01:20Melissa, I want your take on this.
01:22LeBron James and Anthony Davis worked very hard the start of the season in LA to build
01:26this championship team.
01:27I know there was some concern they might lose momentum.
01:30Where do you think they stand now heading towards Orlando?
01:32Well, it's interesting because right before the hiatus, the Lakers actually played the
01:38Bucks and they were extremely dominant.
01:41LeBron was definitely the MVP on the court that night.
01:45He basically was just excellent on all ends of the court, guarding Giannis.
01:50He was dominant on the offensive end.
01:53So definitely if you look at that night in particular, and obviously, you know, that
01:58was just one game.
01:59You can't glean too much from one game, but it looked like the Lakers and LeBron particularly
02:03had really rounded a corner.
02:05Now I think if these teams do meet in the finals, it's going to be really interesting,
02:09but I have to give the edge to the Lakers just because of LeBron's championship experience.
02:14LeBron has a way of putting teams on his shoulders and doing what he wants.
02:20He obviously brought both Cleveland and Miami to the finals eight straight seasons.
02:24I mean, that's pretty incredible if you think about it.
02:27Eight straight NBA finals appearances.
02:29He's a three-time champion.
02:31And I think that experience is going to be extremely key if these teams meet in the finals.
02:36Absolutely.
02:37Thank you guys so much for your insight on this.
02:39I appreciate it.
