00:00 I'm Jill Painter Lopez for Sports Illustrated and with Vince Carter's
00:05 recent retirement announcement. So many players and coaches have weighed in on
00:09 his Hall of Fame career. Laker Jared Dudley did just that. He tweeted,
00:14 "Congrats on your Hall of Fame career, Vince Carter," and he said, "It was an
00:17 honor to play alongside you." Now the two played together in Phoenix for part of
00:21 the 2010-11 season. Obviously Jared Dudley was in the midst of his son's
00:26 career then. Carter was shipped from Orlando to Phoenix so they had 51 games
00:31 together then. Carter of course playing 22 seasons in the NBA, eight All-Star
00:36 appearances, such a personality which everyone loved, and of course those
00:40 dunks and three-pointers as well. Now he was a number five overall pick in the
00:45 1998 draft. Want a good trivia question to stump your Laker friends? Who did the
00:50 Lakers pick in the 1998 draft? Well with the 26th pick overall they went for Sam
00:56 Jacobson out of Minnesota. Now his career with the Lakers lasted all of five games
01:02 that he played for them. Certainly one of the biggest busts in their draft pick
01:07 history. But again congratulations to Vince Carter on a Hall of Fame career in
01:11 his retirement.
