00:00 I'm Melissa Rowland with Sports Illustrated and we're here with Jill Painter-Lopez.
00:06 Now Jill, KCP recently went on Spectrum and discussed how anxious he is to get back on
00:12 the court.
00:13 What did he say?
00:14 Well Melissa, he had some strong words and pretty neat coming from a guy we haven't heard
00:19 a lot from during the pandemic, but he said, "We want to fight for what's ours."
00:23 He told Chris McGee that.
00:25 And obviously he thinks the Lakers, as do everyone, have a great chance to win the NBA
00:30 championship, but he called it "ours."
00:32 So that was pretty interesting.
00:33 He said he's in Atlanta right now.
00:35 He spent most of the pandemic with his family in Los Angeles, but in early May, he went
00:40 back to his Atlanta home and he said, "I'm ready to get on a plane right now and head
00:43 back to LA to resume the season."
00:46 So there's a lot of guys out there, of course, who are not ready.
00:49 They're not ready to go back to the practice facilities.
00:52 They're not ready to go away from their families yet.
00:56 So you have a couple of different groups of guys, but KCP is one of those guys that wants
00:59 to get back to it and try and help the Lakers win what would be their first championship
01:04 since 2010.
01:05 He's ready and he's not mincing words.
01:08 I like it.
