00:00I'm Melissa Rowland with Sports Illustrated and we're here with Jill Painter-Lopez.
00:05Now Jill, the NBA Players Association is doing something really cool to help players around
00:11the league and the causes that they care about.
00:13Tell us a little bit about that and how it affects the Lakers.
00:16Well Melissa, the Lakers who are being affected are Alex Caruso and Kyle Kuzma and that means
00:21that their charities are two of the ones that are having grants matched.
00:25Now the NBPA put up $400,000 matching player grants to 24 different players and their causes
00:32around the league.
00:33Kyle Kuzma, of course, has long been supportive of the Flint YMCA in Michigan where he grew
00:38up.
00:39The Kyle Kuzma Foundation and then of course here in LA organizations as well helping provide
00:44food to families who've been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
00:49Same charitable work that Alex Caruso is doing with the Not Impossible Foundation and that
00:54again is helping families in need during the pandemic.
00:57So many players, of course, doing so many good things, especially here in this pandemic
01:03crisis that we're in the middle of.
01:05Kevin Durant, Kevin Love, J.J. Reddick among them, but a very cool move by the NBA Players
01:10Association to assist them in their causes.
