00:00I'm Jill Painter Lopez of Sports Illustrated, joined by Melissa Rowland.
00:07Melissa, I understand you just got off a conference call with Alex Caruso, who was discussing
00:12teammate Avery Bradley opting out of the restart of the season and what his loss means to the
00:17team.
00:18What did he say?
00:19First of all, he said that he completely understands his decision.
00:22Obviously, Avery Bradley opted out of the season because his six year old son has struggled
00:27with past respiratory illnesses, making him high risk if he were to contract COVID-19.
00:32So Avery Bradley made the decision because of his family.
00:36And Alex Caruso said he completely understands his decision.
00:39He supports his decision.
00:41And if he had to make the same decision, he would have done the same thing.
00:45He also talked about how big of shoes the Lakers are going to have to fill in Avery
00:49Bradley's absence.
00:50Avery Bradley was a great perimeter defender, and Alex Caruso said he's not going to be
00:55able to fill in Avery Bradley's shoes alone.
00:58He said it's going to be a complete team effort.
