00:00 I'm Jill Painter Lopez for Sports Illustrated joined by Melissa Rowland.
00:06 And Melissa, the Lakers have been in the NBA bubble.
00:08 This is now day five.
00:10 You've had interviews with LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and others.
00:14 What is it like for them and how are they doing?
00:16 Well, there's been a lot of interesting news that's come out of those interviews so far,
00:21 including both LeBron James and Anthony Davis opted not to have social justice messages
00:26 on the back of their jerseys, instead going with their own last names.
00:29 They did it for different reasons.
00:31 LeBron James chose to do it because none of the 29 messages that were approved by the
00:35 league resonated with him.
00:37 He said he wished he had a say so in picking what message he'd wear.
00:41 That being said, he said he totally respects and commends guys who choose to go with a
00:45 social justice message.
00:47 Anthony Davis, on the other hand, declined to do it because he wanted his family's name
00:51 on the back of his jersey.
00:52 He said his family got him to where he is today and he wanted to honor them always while
00:57 he's on the court.
00:59 And so he said he'd find other ways to fight racism and speak out against racial injustices.
01:05 Life in the bubble, both of them said, hasn't been so thrilling so far.
01:09 I think most of the guys pretty much been staying in their hotel rooms, playing video
01:13 games against each other.
01:15 They had their first two practices.
01:18 They said that they're still getting their legs under them.
01:21 Basically, they remember all of their offensive and defensive schemes.
01:24 The main thing that they need to do now is get back into five on five shape.
