Alex Caruso To Wear `Black Lives Matter’ On Lakers Jersey

00:00I'm Melissa Rowland with Sports Illustrated and we're here with Jill Painter-Lopez.

00:06Now Alex Caruso recently chose which social justice message he wants on the back of his

00:11jersey.

00:12Which message did he choose and why did he do it?

00:14Well Melissa, he chose Black Lives Matter and he told Dunk Bait of Yahoo Sports that

00:19that was an important one for him and it was important for him to do his part.

00:24And he said as a white basketball player, he knows he has so many kids that are fans

00:29and that idolize him and so he thought it was important to share that message of racial

00:33equality, justice.

00:35He's done so much during the pandemic and before that of course as well to help end

00:40police brutality and do his part.

00:43So Alex Caruso of course going with Black Lives Matter.

00:47We've seen some of his other Lakers teammates like LeBron James and Anthony Davis who for

00:52different reasons decided to not go with one of the approved messages.

00:56But for Alex Caruso, he is trying to do his part and help and he is going with Black Lives
