Maybe it's worth trying to enjoy the journey a little more

00:00Hey guys Aaron Rose here from Sports Illustrated. Yesterday Pascal Siakam was
00:04on Instagram live with Demar DeRozan and it got me thinking about how much
00:08thought we put into wins and losses and how much that matters in our sports
00:13culture and how sometimes we need to take a step back and look more at the
00:18journey. Siakam was talking about how the most fun he ever had in an NBA season
00:23wasn't last year when he teamed up with Kawhi Leonard and led the Raptors to an
00:28NBA title. It wasn't even this year when the Raptors handed the keys to the
00:32franchise and basically turned him into the alpha male on the team. It was
00:36actually in the 2017-18 season when he, Fred Van Vliet, Jakob Pertl and DeLon
00:43Wright teamed up and made the bench mob. He said that was the most fun I ever had
00:49playing basketball. It was so fun the whole team was together. Literally it was
00:54amazing. DeRozan said he used to take trips down
00:59to Mississauga to see Fred Van Vliet and Siakam play in the G League. I'm not
01:03saying wins and losses don't matter. I'm just saying I think we should
01:06concentrate a little bit more on the journey and spend less time focusing on
01:10the destination.
