Farm cited for promoting sustainable agriculture, food security  Vanessa delos Reyes, one of the Filipinos working at the Mazraa Farm in Abu Dhabi, tells The Manila Times about their farm, which produces honey, considered among the best in the world. Mazraa is the first ever certified organic farm in the United Arab Emirates and has received a certificate from the Food and Agriculture Organization  of the United Nations for its efforts in promoting sustainable agriculture and food security. 00:05 So we are Abu Dhabi Organic Farm.

00:08 So we are the first farm here in UAE, in the Emirates.

00:13 Then we established since 2005.

00:15 So we have farm animals and arboreal.

00:20 We have educational pool for the kids and schools.

00:24 Then we have a swan.

00:28 This is our Arabian Oryx, the national animal for the UAE.

00:33 So we have cows, horses.

00:36 So our farm, we practice sustainability.

00:40 All natural.

00:41 So we don't use any artificial fertilizer.

00:45 So the spray we use for the vegetables is molasses.

00:50 So we just get it from the leaves of the palm trees.

00:56 So we save it for the fertilizer and spray.

01:01 So those are our vegetables.

01:04 We have grapes, cabbage, lettuce, potatoes, celery.

01:10 So we have also a specialty coffee.

01:13 Then the farm market.

01:17 We have a restaurant also.

01:19 So everything we sell in the restaurant is from the farm.

01:24 So all fresh.

01:27 So we are selling from farm to your table.

01:31 So we have a storage for the kids, fish farm.

01:36 So all of our procedures in planting, we teach them when we have educational tour.

01:42 So we also teach the kids how to plant.

01:45 How they will take care of the plants.

01:50 So we are private ownership but we are open to the public.

01:56 And of course, please explain your product, the honey.

02:01 This is what I tasted the first day.

02:04 So please explain where you make this honey.

02:07 So this is our cedar honey.

02:12 Where the bees suck the cedar tree.

02:16 So it's like we have a tree, then we put the bees there.

02:22 So they suck the petals from the cedar flower, cedar leaves like that.

02:27 So only for cedar.

02:29 So this is the acacia, summer honey, flavored by acacia.

02:34 Acacia tree.

02:35 Yeah, acacia tree.

02:36 So this is cedar tree.

02:37 Yeah, cedar tree and then acacia tree.

02:39 So you will notice that our acacia tree, its skin is reddish.

02:44 So that's why the color of their honey is like this.

02:48 So this is the main product of the Mazara Park.

02:52 And this is the sample of cedar honey.

03:01 So this is a natural and raw.

03:04 So we are not adding any sugar.

03:08 How many years have you been operating this Mazara Park?

03:12 So we established since 2005.

03:14 So this is the certificate, we got a certificate from Bayonet.

03:23 So we have a lot, this one is the certificate.

03:39 So our sponsor is one of the coordinator.

03:45 So they asked us for showing the Mazara.

03:53 Yes, so we are the mother of our boss, received the Abu Dhabi Award.

03:59 So she was able to receive the Abu Dhabi Award because she is the first farmer here in UAE.
