00:00I'm sorry I'm having to read this off my phone, so I would like to firstly give thanks to those attending for your support.
00:06I've been working very hard with third parties over the last three years in securing Clare's plaque and plinth,
00:11and with it recently being confirmed by the Transport Department that fingerpost signs are soon to be erected
00:17directing people to both the Isle of Yule Bridge and Clare's Memorial, I thought it would now be an ideal time for the unveiling to take place.
00:24A special thanks go to Jean and Mick Shaw of M Shaw's Engraving for the making of the plaque and keeping it in the best possible condition.
00:31I have struggled in finding a fitter to have the plaque fitted securely, but if there are any fitters that are able to do the job in securing it properly then please contact myself.
00:41A thanks also go to the ladies of Pork Hill, the Golden Girls, for helping in the cleaning of the area of Clare's plinth and helping with the cover for the plinth.
00:51And to my fantastic lawyers, Tim Maxwell and Tamara Wakeford at Wedlake Bell who have helped to secure the protection of my artwork and this plaque and plinth.
01:00So it gives me great pleasure in being able to have this unveiling because Clare is as much I love you when you marry me if not more than what I am,
01:08and this gives her the recognition she deserves.
01:12Somewhere it got wrote that there was a failed marriage proposal, but no it wasn't. The proposal itself was successful and Clare said yes.
01:21The failings came from Sheffield City Council and if you follow my social media you will find out about the 23 year battle I have had to date with them in relation to historical abuse.
01:31That itself is an entirely different story today and this one is about Clare and Clare alone.
01:37The graffiti itself is known to all four corners of the world and has been used in many formats and the theme of it cannot be disputed.
01:44It is one of the longest dated documentaries on BBC Radio 4, if not the longest, and is still one of the most recognised songs sung by a young blood. Love you Dom.
01:54Chris Bush placed it within her book and her recent release, West End Edition, has given myself the copyright status a fact that many don't know.
02:03As we all know it is on show within the West End show, standing at the sky's edge, and throughout reveals of the show the graffiti has always been the focal point of conversation.
02:13But Clare very rarely receives any attention and hopefully now that the graffiti and Plympho married up she will start to receive that,
02:21and with that again I would like to say a big thank you to all those present and for those involved in the past.
02:27And with that I pass all reigns over to Jodie and Clare's family.
02:34Ready?
02:42There we are.
