00:00Really, Coach's approach with the opportunity, he figured that this would be something that
00:05I would be good at and something really just for me to improve my leadership skills and
00:12really just see my voice to be heard throughout the country.
00:15I mean, for sure, I mean, the march was definitely a start to something special that I wanted
00:21to do and just having this opportunity really just allows me to continue using that platform
00:27and with the group that we have in that committee, just doing everything we can to make things
00:32easier and better for all athletes in the NCAA.
00:36I probably feel like just for me, just a chance to use my voice more.
00:39Coach, I always want to be more vocal in the court and having an opportunity like this
00:44just allows me to do that.
00:46I mean, this year, I'm considered an upperclassman, but I'm still a sophomore, considering we
00:50have seven new guys on our team.
00:52So I really use all that together, helps me become a better leader in a whole.
00:59I mean, really, it just shows us that this pandemic is real.
01:02I mean, I can't speak for the other campuses and what they do, but the precaution that
01:05we take here, obviously second to none.
01:09We have very little interaction with anybody outside of basketball operations, and I feel
01:14like the precaution we have put in place here, obviously for our safety first and ultimately
01:20doing the right thing to help us get back on the court soon.
01:22I mean, obviously, this is just the start of something special.
01:27We're kind of like the experiment group of guys to hopefully this become a larger thing
01:32and hopefully kind of map it out to be kind of like the NBA Players Union.
01:36We kind of just want to have an input in everything that goes in with the college basketball,
01:40whether it's how we play our games or how many games we play, the money that goes into
01:45it, what happens to the players, what happens to everything.
01:48We just want the players to get treated fairly so they don't feel like I lose kind of interest
01:53in their sport early.
01:54That way, you see guys going to the G League and things like that.
01:58We just want to have an opportunity to keep guys in college because college is obviously
02:01a one in a lifetime experience, and we want to make it that way for all athletes.
