00:00Let's go to Philadelphia now, where they seem to have figured it out, knock ords for all
00:10my Philly fans.
00:11Bullpen's been all right, starting rotation, and it's not from the guys you expect.
00:15It's Ranger Suarez, and it's this next guy, Chris Sanchez, that is really helping Philadelphia.
00:20Thoughts?
00:21Yeah, Ranger Suarez with a shutout earlier in the week, but look at Sanchez recently,
00:25too.
00:26What a place for him.
00:2712 innings, a win, 16 strikeouts, just four walks.
00:30The lefty has pitched to a .75 ERA and a 1.08 whip.
00:37The Phillies were also my pick going into the year to win the East, because as far as
00:42I was concerned, whether or not you had the Atlanta Braves' rotation fall apart in any
00:48manner, the one thing you couldn't afford to lose was Spencer Schreider, and they lost
00:52that.
00:53And then Max Freed has not been great.
00:56You look at the age of Charlie Morton, the wear and tear of Chris Sale, there's a lot
00:59of questions there, I think, in that rotation.
01:01As great as that lineup is, and now they're dealing with another injury, too, in the lineup
01:05with Ozzie Alves being out.
01:07So the Phillies have a unique opportunity here, because you knew Nola and Wheeler were
01:10going to be good at the top.
01:11It was, what were you going to get out of Ranger Suarez, what were you going to get
01:13out of Sanchez, what are you going to get out of the other guys in this rotation?
01:17And so far, you're getting a lot.
01:18Now, I do want to throw in the caveat, some of these performances were against the Rockies,
01:22and the Rockies lineup, as we continue to say, is the gift that keeps on giving in fantasy
01:26and in wagering.
01:27You're just trolling them all day long if you can, the White Sox, the A's to a certain
01:31degree, and of course, the Rockies.
01:34But regardless, if these guys maintain anything close to this pace, the Phillies, I think,
01:39for the first time in a very long time, are not going to be the team that struggles in
01:43the first half, and then has to flip the switch after the all-star break and get red hot to
01:47get in the playoffs.
01:48This is a team that could easily win this division.
01:49I don't think the Mets are a real threat in this division.
01:52The Nationals and Marlins are not real threats in this division.
01:54It's really, can you beat the Braves?
01:56And looking at the depth of rotation, the depth of this batting order, I think the Phillies
02:01can do it this year.
02:02I do think it's the year the Phillies get to the World Series again.
02:04I do think this is a situation where the Braves are vulnerable for the first time in a while,
02:09and it's because of the injury at the top of that rotation.
02:12So if you've got future investments to make, I think the Phillies in the East is a really
02:16good one right now.
