Owner Nicole shares the story behind Goldfinch Create and Play

Located on Westbury on Trym, Goldfinch Create and Play is an art café that has offered art classes and yoga for all ages since six months ago.

Nicole, the owner, explained to BristolWorld that the idea came after she found a lack of purposeful spaces for parents with young children around Bristol when she moved to the city four and a half years ago.

She found a lot of activities happening around community halls but not "a well-designed space where parents feel as comfortable as the children do, and kids can get creative, and adults can drink a good cup of coffee and have some healthy snacks. And it kind of evolved from there."

00:21 and kids can get creative and adults can drink a good cup of coffee and have some healthy snacks
00:29 and it kind of evolved already from more breakfast-y things to the paninis and the seasonal salad bowls
00:36 and we're going to evolve that further to providing a lot of really exciting sandwiches.
00:41 We want gold inches about as a social space.
00:43 All of our art classes are really a little bit like Forest competes the art class,
00:47 so there's always some learning aspect linked to seasons.
00:51 The space looks very clean and minimalist and that's part of the design,
00:57 so there's no clutter to distract the children, but essentially it's all about creativity and movement
01:03 and finding mindfulness really through making and moving.
