00:04 The beloved animated series is currently in its 22nd season. As for the future of the show,
00:10 creator and star MacFarlane told the Los Angeles Times in a new profile celebrating 25 years since
00:15 the series initially aired, "At this point, I don't see a good reason to stop." He continued,
00:20 "People still love it. It makes people happy and it funds some good causes. It's a lot of
00:25 extraneous cash that you can donate to Rainforest Trust and you can still go out to dinner that
00:29 night." MacFarlane also shared, "There was a time when I thought, 'It's time to wrap it up.'
00:33 At this point, we've reached escape velocity. I don't know that there's any reason to stop at
00:37 this point unless people get sick of it, unless the numbers show that people just are, 'Eh,
00:41 we don't care about Family Guy anymore.' But that hasn't happened yet." Family Guy premiered in
00:45 1999 on Fox but was initially canceled after just two seasons and then scored a third season before
00:51 being nixed for good, or so viewers thought. Thanks to reruns on Cartoon Network and DVD sales,
00:56 the series was revived and became a massive success. Season 4 of Family Guy debuted in
01:01 2005 on Fox, where it has continued to air every year. For more on this story,
