00:27 >> This is the new Kia Carnival MPV.
00:30 What do you think?
00:32 Not bad? Let me tell you a little bit about it.
00:36 The new model builds on the rugged SUV-like design
00:40 that sets Carnival apart from its competitors.
00:42 It looks great, and we'll get
00:45 to the design enhancements in a minute.
00:46 But the big news is Carnival's first ever available hybrid
00:53 powertrain.
00:55 Hybrids are an important part of Kia's plan S strategy,
00:59 as we help lead the industry towards electrification
01:03 and a more innovative future.
01:05 Carnival Hybrid is the 10th electric vehicle in our lineup.
01:10 Our hybrid models are for buyers who are looking
01:15 for efficiency, but are not yet ready for full EVs.
01:18 Carnival Hybrid gives owners exactly what they want
01:23 by providing more fuel economy and great driving performance.
01:27 But this is not just any hybrid system.
01:30 This is a Kia Hybrid, which means it's turbocharged
01:34 and packs a real punch.
01:36 It is powered by a 1.6 liter turbo GDI engine that is teamed
01:43 with a 54 kilowatt drive motor.
01:45 This class exclusive turbocharged hybrid
01:50 powertrain delivers 242 combined horsepower
01:55 and 271 pound feet of torque.
01:57 That powerful torque rating is not only best
02:03 in class among hybrid MPVs,
02:05 it's best in class amongst gas-powered MPVs as well.
02:09 There's much more to this new Carnival Turbo Hybrid
02:13 than what's under the hood.
02:14 This vehicle has several innovative features
02:18 that help enhance its performance
02:19 and comfortable ride.
02:20 Up front, the lower intake area has active air flaps.
02:25 They're designed to automatically open
02:27 and close the air intake opening according
02:30 to driving conditions.
02:31 Carnival Turbo Hybrid also features eRide,
02:36 which can improve ride comfort by alleviating up and down shocks
02:40 when passing over bumps
02:41 by automatically adjusting shock dampening.
02:46 eHandling is designed to use electric motor braking
02:50 to help improve cornering agility while utilizing the drive
02:54 motor to improve corner stability.
02:57 And eEvasive Handling Assist can help control the load movement
03:03 on the front and rear wheels during emergency steering
03:07 to maximize evasion performance.
03:09 We also took the opportunity to freshen Carnival's design
03:15 and further leverage the popularity of Kia's SUVs.
03:19 Like our latest SUVs,
03:21 the new Carnival employs Kia's opposite-united design
03:25 philosophy, utilizing the cues that people love
03:28 about Telluride and EV9.
03:30 The vertical headlamps help frame Carnival's wide,
03:35 sophisticated front-end appearance
03:38 and star-mapped lighting pattern, including the DRLs
03:42 that are amber now on all models.
03:45 The front bumper and skid plate are also in harmony,
03:49 helping give Carnival a rugged look
03:51 that stands out in its segment.
03:53 In back, the updated tailgate has a more elegant look,
03:58 and we continue our star-mapped theme with the new tail lamps.
04:02 The rear bumper and skid plate are also redesigned
04:06 with a new technical shape.
04:07 For an even bolder look this year,
04:10 we are introducing the new Carnival Dark Edition.
04:15 It has exclusive black wheels,
04:17 along with dark-colored trim accents
04:19 for the front and rear skid plates, C-pillars, doors,
04:23 side-view mirrors, roof rack, and tailgate.
04:27 Now let's move inside.
04:29 2025 Carnival offers an available dual 12.3-inch
04:35 panoramic curved display
04:37 that integrates a digital cluster and center touchscreen.
04:40 Like on other Kia models,
04:43 the wide-curve display is a thoroughly modern design
04:46 that puts key readouts and controls
04:49 in sight and easy reach for the driver.
04:52 Carnival's available heads-up display is also new for 2025.
04:57 It projects key readouts onto the windshield
05:00 so drivers can keep their eyes on the road ahead,
05:03 and they can customize the display.
05:05 The updated center console includes dual deluxe-sized cup holders
05:12 that can handle an oversized water bottle.
05:14 There's also new ambient mood lighting.
05:17 Carnival also gets a tech upgrade.
05:20 Available Digital Key 2.0 allows owners to unlock the vehicle
05:26 with a compatible smartphone or Smart March.
05:28 There's also a new available rear seat entertainment system
05:33 with dual 14.6 high-definition monitors.
05:39 And Carnival now offers available multi-zone voice recognition.
05:43 It allows a driver, front passenger, and second-row passengers
05:47 to operate climate controls, power windows,
05:50 and the available second-row relaxation seats using voice commands.
05:54 Just say, "Hey, Kia."
05:57 Finally, the new 2025 Carnival can also receive over-the-air updates
06:05 to conveniently help improve the ownership experience.
06:09 The 2025 Kia Carnival MPV is expected to arrive in dealerships this summer.
