Matthew Hollis, 41, drove his battered Citroen 2CV 1,023 miles from England to Ireland – using only B-roads and a COMPASS.

It took him ten days to complete the epic trip from Ness Point in Lowestoft, Suffolk, to Dunmore Head, on Ireland's west coast - and not a Sat Nav in sight!

00:00 So at the moment I'm pretty sure I'm on a B road now
00:06 and it's a fairly decent one, starting to head out of Lowesoth
00:16 So I have a feeling I might be sort of on the outskirts of Ipswich
00:24 let's say the weather's taken a turn for the worse
00:30 Cookies leaking slightly
00:35 Well this guy's going through
00:37 Well that's pretty deep
00:51 I thought there was something wrong with the brakes and I've discovered this morning that
00:55 you won't be able to see it but down there the left side caliper I think has basically seized on
01:06 Car park for John Lewis
01:10 I'm getting some quite funny looks
01:17 slightly touching the brake when I entered the multi-storey it's then pushed the caliper back in
01:23 so I've been struggling for the past 20 minutes or so to get the caliper back
01:28 Anyway this is Tewkesbury, just on past Tewkesbury Abbey
01:35 There wouldn't be a road like this unless it actually went into Wales
01:44 I would think it would probably have been an older road that goes into Wales before they built Yate
