00:07:08 weekend devolved into me sending Max Homa, Fat Max videos saying, don't be
00:07:14 fat Max, be Max Homa. Yeah. Over and over. And so it was like, it was like Max
00:07:19 doing the parade with the Sixers.
00:07:22 It was Max just completely duffing a T shot. So that was, I was hoping he was
00:07:35 trying to focus for a Sunday at the masters.
00:07:38 He was thinking of thinking about Matt. Well, no, I sent it to him on Saturday
00:07:41 night and then he superstitious that I was like, I sent you a video. He's like,
00:07:44 yes, you got to send another one. That's crazy. What he's thinking about Max.
00:07:48 And then he, after he's around, then he happens, then he happens going to sleep
00:07:52 visualizing. He told me that it was good superstition that I made him laugh with
00:07:56 a max videos. Like you got to keep sending them. I was like, I'm going to
00:07:59 keep sending them. I sent him on after. So it would be like, I sent one on
00:08:03 Friday at like 7 PM on Saturday at like six 30. Like he was done. I'm just saying
00:08:08 no one should be thinking about Max. Well, I, listen until today it was
00:08:13 working. He was literally like, I'm going to be Max Homa. I'm not going to be fat
00:08:17 Max. We had a thing. It felt like it was working. And then he shot his T shot on
00:08:21 12 into the sole patch of Augusta. Yeah. And it was all over. It was all over. I
00:08:24 got caught in a superstitious loop. You don't get caught in a superstitious
00:08:27 loop. It was, it did. It did feel like Max had like the positive vibes going
00:08:32 and he shot great on Thursday and it with the wind on Friday and Saturday,
00:08:36 like everyone's like, Oh, he just keeps getting parts. Like everyone's getting
00:08:39 yeah. Par was great. Par was great on Saturday. And we were, we were so
00:08:42 frustrated cause we were watching. We just want him to make one single birdie.
00:08:45 Just like get a birdie, start climbing up. But all the pars were good. He was
00:08:48 stacking pars. I think I said it was a par fest when party was right there in
00:08:53 front of me, but that's all he was doing. Antonio Brown. Yeah. Clown Tony
00:08:56 O'Brien myself. That's all he's doing. Just par. He was steady. He was steady.
00:08:59 And then he was steady on Sunday too, but he needed to be a little bit better
00:09:03 than it felt like the whole world was rooting for him to homosexuals were
00:09:06 trending for, I think all weekend long. Yeah. On Saturday you could see the fear
00:09:10 in some of those players eyes when Max was up there, they were homophobic. Yeah,
00:09:14 they were. But, uh, back girl, were you, are you, I mean, if think about it this
00:09:19 way, if max home might end up winning the masters, you would have been, uh,
00:09:23 mentioned like maybe like a hundredth in the thank yous. No, yeah, that, that
00:09:28 would have been great. But I do think it's probably not great that the last
00:09:32 one that you sent him was me whiffing a golf ball. It was actually, no, that
00:09:35 wasn't the last one. The last one I sent him was, uh, you freaking out, uh, the
00:09:40 Phillies saying you look ridiculous. So I thought, I thought these were just
00:09:44 topical ones. You were just going into the bank. I was going in the bank. I was
00:09:48 saying like, this is fat max. Don't be fat max. It was a good, it was good
00:09:52 motivation for a while there. Yeah. No, I went in, I went deep in the bank. I was
00:09:56 sending them all your like low lights being like, we got two maxes in this
00:10:00 world. We got this max and you, you're going to win the masters. That's kind of
00:10:04 cool. Yeah. Right. It would have been cool. And he appreciated it. It was
00:10:07 again, a superstitious loop. People do stupid things. I've watched games from
00:10:11 weird positions for the entirety of the game. Hank watched all the super bowls
00:10:14 from the bathroom backs. So you can't say a superstitious loop doesn't happen.
00:10:19 No, I get it. Yeah. How, uh, how weird was it seeing tiger play today with such
00:10:23 like a high, high score and not wearing the Nike shirt? It looked weird with him
00:10:28 wearing the tiger logo, right? We really needed him to score well today too,
00:10:31 because Charlie Woods was a swing coach. Yeah. So I was like, he's going to go low.
00:10:35 And then we also will talk to Scott van Pelt about this, but note gate has been,
00:10:39 has been going around the internet. Uh, a reporter asked Neil Shipley, JMU, JMU,
00:10:45 Neil Shipley. Very funny looking. Why are they giving Ohio state all the credit?
00:10:49 Well, cause he's a grad transfer to Ohio state, but he graduated already from,
00:10:52 Oh yeah. He's Jamie. Jamie guy. Yeah. Um,
00:10:54 PFT says that in everything I see of Neil ship. It's like Neil ship.
00:10:57 There's a lot of state has a lot more fans. I mean,
00:10:59 there's just a lot of people that go to Ohio state. A lot of front runners. Yeah.
00:11:02 So, uh, but Neil Shipley, yeah, he,
00:11:04 he couldn't have looked more uncomfortable in the Butler cabin was very funny.
00:11:08 John Rom also that guy, he just wanted to get out of there. So, so bad.
00:11:12 How, how messed up is it? I mean,
00:11:14 I like the tradition cause everything at Augusta is about tradition.
00:11:17 It's about appearing as things were like 40 years ago and they have the,
00:11:21 the past winner put the green jacket on the current champion and John Rom's out
00:11:25 there just like, fuck this. Right. Because sometimes it will be, you know, uh,
00:11:30 someone will finally win it and they're just happy. They want,
00:11:32 like when Phil won it, it's like he finally won one or bubble won a couple.
00:11:36 John Rom and Scotty Sheffler are,
00:11:39 you would think for the next decade going to go head to head in everything.
00:11:42 And he just won his second one.
00:11:44 And John Rom also had the comments about live how he's probably not the happiest
00:11:48 and he's got to sit there like looking at his watch being like,
00:11:52 I could have been on my private jet three hours ago. Yeah.
00:11:54 The green finished way, way long.
00:11:56 What we did that we did the mini golf thing this week and you realize, you know,
00:11:59 when you're 10 strokes back, but you have to play a whole round. You're like,
00:12:01 this sucks. I don't even want, what's the point of playing this? Right.
00:12:04 You just start fucking around. Brooks had to do that all day. Yeah. So it's, um,
00:12:08 for, for a returning champion at Augusta,
00:12:11 I think it's been like only two of the last 20 have even finished in the top 10.
00:12:15 Wow. So next year, mind us not to bet on Scotty Sheffler,
00:12:18 which I still will. But no gate back to no gate.
00:12:20 So Neil Shipley was asked afterwards. He's like,
00:12:23 some reporter saw tiger woods pass him a note around the 14th to 16th a hole,
00:12:28 which I guess would be illegal. I don't know. You can't write notes.
00:12:33 It was his eighth grade. I assume tiger just passed him.
00:12:35 No being like, I'm so fucking horny right now. Yeah. I haven't fucked in so long.
00:12:39 It looked like you wanted to fuck that tree that Verne was behind. Yeah. But,
00:12:41 but, but Neil Shipley is like, no, there was no note passed. Uh,
00:12:45 and was kind of awkward about it. I think Neil Shipley just was,
00:12:47 he was thrust into this and he, he was maybe looking a little awkward,
00:12:51 which I understand if you're sitting in the Butler cabin next to these guys,
00:12:54 it's gotta be a little intimidating, but we got to figure out what no gate.
00:12:57 Like if he had said, Hey, hit this shot instead of this shot,
00:13:01 he's always illegal. He's also not a, uh, uh,
00:13:03 like prospect that's guaranteed to go to the PGA tour. Right.
00:13:06 He might never even play, but he had that moment. No, I know.
00:13:09 And his caddy was like his friend, right? Yeah.
00:13:11 His caddy was like 20 years old. So awesome. Yeah. Rocked. So the,
00:13:14 the note that was allegedly sent Neil, Neil Shipley could have taken down Tiger
00:13:18 Woods. Yeah. He could have just ratted him out.
00:13:20 It'd been like, Hey, he told me to hit six there.
00:13:22 He told me he hit six. So I guess you have to penalize him. Oh,
00:13:24 I guess I beat Tiger today. Yeah. It was probably just,
00:13:26 she had like drinks after. Yeah. You seem like a cool guy.
00:13:29 Let's party. Can you give me a ride home? But yeah, the, the,
00:13:33 the Verne Lundquist Tiger moment was great.
00:13:36 Tiger looking like he was shaking the hands of a tree. Yeah.
00:13:39 Seeing Verne just like sitting next to a tree,
00:13:42 watching Tiger putt with this big smile on his face. I'm going to miss Vern.
00:13:45 I really am.
00:13:46 Vern needs to do like a Manning cast thing next year at the masters where it's
00:13:49 just Vern sitting in his living room, maybe up in a tree stand somewhere. Yeah.
00:13:53 In the middle of nowhere. Just, just with that big smile on his face. Vern,
00:13:56 I didn't realize this. Uh, maybe I,
00:13:58 one of those things that you hear and then you just completely memory hole and
00:14:02 forget. But Vern Lundquist is Mr. Steele, your girl.
00:14:06 Did you know this story? Fox? No. So here's the story. This is from, uh,
00:14:10 Holly Anderson reported on it. Uh, this is from a story a couple of years ago,
00:14:14 uh, talking about Vern Lundquist and his third wife. We still married to,
00:14:19 we met in a bar and I has to add, it was an upscale bar in Dallas.
00:14:23 It was at a place called Arthur's.
00:14:26 I walked in after I did the 10 o'clock news in Dallas and I just didn't want to
00:14:30 go home. Nancy and her date were at the bar and her date,
00:14:34 recognized me from local television, invited me over to have a drink.
00:14:37 He introduced me to his date and her name was Nancy Miller.
00:14:40 It was their first date, a blind date.
00:14:42 So we sat and chatted and her date Raymond Willie said to me,
00:14:46 listen, I know you're single.
00:14:48 I'm going to fix you up with a friend of mine and we can all go to dinner.
00:14:51 He looked at Nancy and let me see. He, they, they cut it weird.
00:14:56 He looked at Nancy and asked her, what are you doing Thursday night?
00:14:59 She said nothing. He said, good,
00:15:00 you'll be my date and we'll fix Vern up with,
00:15:03 with this school teacher friend of mine and we'll go to dinner. Meanwhile,
00:15:06 I'm looking at Nancy thinking she's the prettiest thing I've ever seen in my
00:15:09 life. So Raymond finally left to take care of his business. And I asked Nancy,
00:15:13 so how involved are you with Raymond? She said, Oh,
00:15:15 this is our first date and it's a blind date. So I said, well,
00:15:18 forget what he is talking about on Thursday night.
00:15:20 What are you doing on Saturday night? She said,
00:15:22 I think I'm doing whatever you're doing. That's awesome. That's it.
00:15:25 Good for Vern. He also named say, hi. Yeah. You can't say no.
00:15:28 You can't say no to that big smile. The big, like the chipmunk cheeks,
00:15:32 Mr. Steal your girl. Also, I found out because I was looking, I was like,
00:15:35 I hope they're still married. Uh,
00:15:37 Vern was married to a woman before that whose last name was Vernon.
00:15:41 And I really wish he had taken her, taken her name. Vern, Vern.
00:15:44 I was thinking about the name Vern. We, we might be running out of Vern's.
00:15:46 He might be the last major Vern. Yeah, he actually could be.
00:15:50 It's his middle name. Is it? It is. What's his first name? Merton Laverne.
00:15:53 Merton. Oh, this name is Merton. Good. Good call Vern. Yeah. Although it Laverne.
00:15:58 Although, yeah, we probably have some Laverne. He does look like a Merton too.
00:16:01 Merton Laverne. Merton Laverne. Junior. Yeah. He's the best. Oh, he's a junior.
00:16:06 There's another Merton Laverne. Damn. Please. Merton's is my father. Yeah.
00:16:11 I'm Vern. But Vern is the best.
00:16:12 What if he just calls himself Merton when he's like,
00:16:14 when he's out on the prowl on the town? He's Mr. Steal your girl. I'm Merton.
00:16:18 Wikipedia says his nickname is the golden throat.
00:16:20 The golden throat. Isn't that Nancy Reagan? It is. Yeah.
00:16:24 Also very funny. Uh, the golden throat, the guy, uh,
00:16:29 Merton put a hurting on that thing.
00:16:31 Dears one on Twitter who said, apology,
00:16:33 except that it was just a picture of tiger's escalate crashing into the tree.
00:16:36 And then tiger shaking hands with the tree, which was Vern behind the tree.
00:16:40 Yeah. I mean, Vern's arm does look like a tree's arm.
00:16:43 If it, yeah. The giving tree. It's just powerful. Uh, one of my,
00:16:46 one of the great stats that I saw online today was that Scotty Sheffler's caddy
00:16:51 has out earned Rory McIlroy this year. So that's tough.
00:16:55 Tough break for Rory. I feel like I didn't even see Roy. So tiger,
00:16:59 before the tournament started, tiger was,
00:17:01 he was doing like his press conference or whatever. And he said, you know,
00:17:04 Rory's going to win this thing. It's just a matter of time. He's good enough.
00:17:06 He's talented enough. Kind of fucked up for him to say that ahead of time.
00:17:10 Like being like, yeah, Rory, he's great. He's good. If I was one,
00:17:13 if I was Rory, I'd be like, you shouldn't say that.
00:17:16 I haven't won a master's yet. I haven't won a green jacket.
00:17:19 I haven't won a major in like a decade.
00:17:21 Can't just say like, I will win a master's because you get that vibe from me.
00:17:24 Yeah. Yeah. I just did that to Oberg, but over,
00:17:28 over a year, I said multiple, multiple,
00:17:31 Oberg's a robot ready to play, play golf. Yeah. I feel like we didn't even see,
00:17:35 uh, Rory at all. I also,
00:17:38 the early coverage when they do I likened to red zone,
00:17:43 but when, when they are like,
00:17:44 let's check in on 16 and whoever it wasn't 16 cause that was Vern,
00:17:48 but they check it into 14, whatever announcer it was having to be like,
00:17:52 and this just happened a few minutes or a few seconds ago, just being like,
00:17:56 I know what's going to happen before you. Yeah.
00:17:58 And then I always get the red zone feel of why you wouldn't show it to us unless
00:18:02 it's going in. Yeah. Like when Scott Hanson's like, and we go to Tennessee,
00:18:06 like here comes a pick six. That drives me nuts.
00:18:08 Just let us just think everything's live.
00:18:10 And also every year I fall for the same trick,
00:18:12 which is I tune into the wrong app at the start of it. Yeah.
00:18:15 And then I watch all the like pre-produced segments that they have.
00:18:18 And I keep wondering like, when are they going to go out to the course?
00:18:20 And it never goes out to the course. It's just the piano music, the guitar you
00:18:24 get. Yeah. Like nine shots of Tom Watson and Jack Nick.
00:18:27 I saw Jack Nicholas tee off like four times. Yeah. Yeah. That,
00:18:30 that does happen every single year. We also, um, I'm trying to think, Oh,
00:18:34 Wyndham Clark. Ooh. Yeah. That was tough. He, uh,
00:18:37 on Thursday made a live joke being like, Oh yeah. Well,
00:18:41 you know, 54 holes. Like I got this, you know,
00:18:44 I can shoot minus seven tomorrow and then he missed the cut.
00:18:47 I think he shot seven over par. Yeah. That was tough. That was tough.
00:18:50 Also there's, there's so many cams now. There's a lot of,
00:18:54 there's three Camerons. We had three cameras that finished towards the top,
00:18:57 two of which are Australian. So that's confusing. It was,
00:19:00 it was relatively easy for me if I had the American cam and then I had the
00:19:04 Australian cam. Now we've got two Australian cams and one American cam.
00:19:08 Now I have no idea who's who. Yeah. It's, it's weird when we get them in bunches.
00:19:11 Did you see what we have? Uh, we have a bunch of, uh,
00:19:14 I think it's like three of the top 10 prospects in MLB or Jackson. Yeah.
00:19:18 They're all Jacksons. There's some form of Jackson. I don't, I was hoping that
00:19:22 first name or last name first and last. No, I think there's a last two Jacks.
00:19:25 Oh yeah. Jackson, Churio, Jackson, Morrell and Jackson Holly. So all first,
00:19:29 I was hoping that it was, uh, linked up perfectly with outcast. Sorry,
00:19:33 miss Jackson, but it was a few years off. That would have been sick.
00:19:36 If that one song made just three incredible baseball players. Yeah.
00:19:40 So it's tough. Listen, we're getting old. There are no more mats.
00:19:43 It feels like the age of mats is going past.
00:19:46 There was a time when there were like nine starting quarterbacks in the NFL,
00:19:49 all named Matt. Yeah. We're losing. Now we're losing them. Now it's,
00:19:52 now we're onto Jaden's. Yeah. Jaden's and cams. A lot of cams.
00:19:56 Where are you playing at? Matt Fitzpatrick. Oh, Matt Fitzpatrick. Yeah.
00:19:58 Yeah. Matt Fitzpatrick championship. Yep. We also had some, uh,
00:20:02 great quotes from Terrell Hatton, uh, who is just like, he can't,
00:20:06 he's just so mad at Augusta and you don't really get this very often cause it
00:20:10 feels like everyone's so prim and proper except for,
00:20:15 uh, Zach Johnson who that guy sucks.
00:20:19 He's he, he, okay. So I actually,
00:20:22 I don't have a problem with what he did because they cheered when he made it a
00:20:25 bogey, right? Which is funny. And then he triple bogey, triple bogey,
00:20:28 and because he was going to miss the cut. And then he turned around,
00:20:31 he was like, Oh fuck off. After he finally made his putt.
00:20:33 I got no problem with that. Like tell him to fuck off all you want.
00:20:35 Don't lie about it. But then go 10 toes down afterwards. Be like, I stand on it.
00:20:39 He was like, I can't even hear them. Yeah. That's crazy. And he's also just,
00:20:43 he's spiraling from the Ryder cup debacle, which I get it. And I also saw,
00:20:48 um, uh, there was a, like a whole green jacket.
00:20:52 One of the things that you watch when you're on the wrong app,
00:20:54 like the green jacket, what this means for everything.
00:20:56 Zach Johnson admitted that he got yelled at for wearing the green jacket on
00:21:00 Regis and Kelly with jeans. You're not supposed to wear it with jeans.
00:21:04 Augusta reached out to him.
00:21:05 You're not supposed to wear it with jeans and you always have to have a collared
00:21:08 shirt underneath. I love Augusta. Isn't that great? They're so funny.
00:21:11 They police that shit hard. Hard. So, uh, Terrell Hatton, he, uh,
00:21:14 he had some good quotes. He said,
00:21:16 I don't know what I have to do shoot under par around here.
00:21:18 I'm putting on a brave face for what I want to talk about or say. Uh,
00:21:22 he said he's devastated and it's brutal. And then he said about a 15th hole,
00:21:26 that hole lives rent free in my head. I hate it. I absolutely hate it.
00:21:30 And I think it hates me with the scores that I end up producing on it. Yeah.
00:21:33 Cause you don't usually hear guys like they come off and they're like 15th.
00:21:37 What an incredible hole man versus hole. Yeah. Yeah. No, listen,
00:21:40 he's developing quite a rivalry with the course. He's kind of a grumpy guy too.
00:21:43 Yeah. Probably hates most holes. Yeah. A lot of them. Uh, what else,
00:21:47 what else from the masters? Uh, Augusta asked Jason day to change.
00:21:52 Oh yeah. Because they said it was too busy. His drip was awesome.
00:21:56 I almost bought the pants by the way, from that, uh, his new advertiser,
00:22:01 Melvin Melvin. After everyone told me that I was a loser,
00:22:03 they've got a sick Newport shirt too. They sick here. Yeah. Uh,
00:22:07 but I can understand like, that's not Augusta.
00:22:09 That outfit doesn't say Augusta to me. Yeah. Oh, also Bryson.
00:22:14 Bryson was for a moment all the way in it. I also,
00:22:17 in the most Bryson thing ever, we didn't talk about this on Thursday.
00:22:20 He 3d printed his clubs and got them approved a week ago,
00:22:26 which I would imagine they just looked at it like, okay, we don't know.
00:22:30 There's nothing in the USGA. It was that who it was that had to check about
00:22:34 nothing in the rule book about Bryson DeChambeau making 3d printed clubs,
00:22:37 $10,000 3d printed gloves or clubs. I love that story.
00:22:43 I want to like, could you 3d print some clubs that make it?
00:22:47 So just always go straight. Yeah, probably. I don't know how they check it out.
00:22:49 Really, really huge.
00:22:51 So did Bryson just, he, he created these himself.
00:22:55 He like downloaded the software himself and they were supposed to work with a
00:22:59 team, but it was supposed to fix. So like the misses are not as bad.
00:23:03 Was what I read. Yeah, but that's, there's basically,
00:23:07 you can do that with regular clubs. He was just like,
00:23:09 I need it to be specific, specific to specific.
00:23:11 I think he just wanted to be able to say like,
00:23:13 I'm the first golfer with 3d printed clubs.
00:23:14 Just so everyone knows we've squashed our beef with Bryson because Brooks did.
00:23:18 Hank has gone all the way to being a Stan. Hank loves him.
00:23:21 He's a Stan of Bryson. Oh, and I brought this up.
00:23:24 I brought this up in the gambling cave and Hank immediately was like, well,
00:23:27 yeah, you can 3d print your, your clubs. You love everybody on the live tour.
00:23:31 Not anymore. Why? Cause I had a round Robin. Uh,
00:23:36 I needed a bunch of guys to finish top 20 and Brooks and Rom screwed everything.
00:23:40 That's neither here nor there. Bryson. I like, I just, I like,
00:23:43 I like his YouTube videos. I watch his YouTube videos. I've come around.
00:23:46 That's fair. You love his content online. I literally, yeah.
00:23:49 Thank you for everything you do online. Bryson. I would say that to him.
00:23:52 If I saw him, we need to get that. He said today, he was like,
00:23:56 I have a Snapchat. People come up to me and say, you know,
00:23:58 thanks for what you do on Snapchat. I love that. Good for Bryson.
00:24:02 He also looks like he did the genius thing of gaining all that weight,
00:24:06 muscle, and then getting skinny again. And he looks good.
00:24:09 He's like good looking. He will win a major this year. He looks,
00:24:12 he looks like a regular golfer now with the 3d printed clubs. Yeah.
00:24:17 He will win one. His logos are pretty cool.
00:24:20 I just read rapport. I just wrote this. He blogged some master's thoughts,
00:24:24 but apparently Augusta doesn't in a practice round,
00:24:26 you can bring green reading technology that shows you kind of like the
00:24:30 wavelength of the greens and slope and stuff. Okay.
00:24:33 And he's obviously a super nerd scientist.
00:24:36 So he uses that and does calculations and like uses a ruler to figure out how
00:24:40 far back he has to go with putts. Augusta doesn't allow that.
00:24:43 They just have normal, like old school green reading technology or whatever,
00:24:48 that you can't, you can't use all the extra stuff. And Bryson, he, you know,
00:24:51 he didn't say it was an excuse, but he was like, yeah,
00:24:53 I got to figure out how to play a round of golf.
00:24:56 I bet you're able to use all my science.
00:24:57 Bryson's going to get neural link. Yeah. He's going to get a plan. Yeah.
00:25:01 Brain. Yeah. And yeah, he's going to be like, now I have an advantage.
00:25:03 He'll like close one eye and it'll be like the terminator. Yeah.
00:25:06 He's BT 1000. You're absolutely right.
00:25:08 And it probably won't work. And Hank will be like, that's not illegal.
00:25:12 He'll be the first person to get it done. And he'll be like, look at me.
00:25:14 I'm on the bleeding edge of technology. Then on like the 16th hole,
00:25:17 his eyes are just going to start to bleed.
00:25:19 Well, or it will,
00:25:20 he'll get all this technology installed into his brain and then he'll get to
00:25:23 Augusta where they probably have like a wifi firewall.
00:25:27 They have a jamming technology.
00:25:31 His brain will just, he's just going to freeze like Mitch McConnell.
00:25:34 Not be able to move. He's like, fuck what's going on, Bryson. And Hank,
00:25:38 we're like, well, they screwed him. Bryce is just too far ahead of the game.
00:25:41 Yeah. I mean, if they're illegal, they wouldn't have got approved.
00:25:43 That's I honestly, I,
00:25:46 I think they probably just didn't know what to do. I, so my,
00:25:50 they were looking at him and like, okay,
00:25:52 my take is that you should be allowed to use whatever club you want. Yeah.
00:25:55 Ever like all the time. It doesn't matter how big it is.
00:25:59 Get the ball in the hole.
00:25:59 I'll say this about Bryce and I immediately looked cause it did say
00:26:03 specifically that it was like, so that his misses were not as big of misses.
00:26:07 I started looking up to see if there's a driver that just doesn't,
00:26:10 that always hits it straight and I will buy it if I can find one.
00:26:13 There are some that have like a giant giant. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
00:26:17 Just a fucking huge, huge head. QR 10. All right.
00:26:21 So Taylor made, I need one that just everything goes straight.
00:26:23 I don't care if it goes far. I just want to play in the middle of the fairway.
00:26:26 They make, they make these clubs that automatically go back and forward.
00:26:29 Like there's a hinge on it that you press a button and the club bends backward
00:26:33 and then goes through the ball. Oh, you don't even have to swing. Oh, okay.
00:26:37 Yeah. So just press a button. You press it. You stand next to the ball.
00:26:40 That sounds like perfect golf for me. It goes straight. Yeah. You should have,
00:26:43 you should be allowed to cheat at golf with the clubs that you use.
00:26:46 You obviously have to take your own shots, but if they're your clubs,
00:26:49 they're in your bag. Just get the ball in the hole. Yeah.
00:26:52 Put the ball in the hole. Okay. Anything else from the master?
00:26:55 We're going to talk more with Scott van Pelt who was there answer some of our
00:26:58 questions. Uh, Scott, he's just, he's, he's only 27 years old.
00:27:02 He's got a, he's got a face of a 40 year old, but he's 27.
00:27:07 He's going to let's, let's do the fun debate. How over under,
00:27:10 what would be a disappointment in terms of total major?
00:27:12 If he doesn't win five green jackets, I think his career was a bust. Yeah.
00:27:16 I'd say two right now at 27. I think he has to get to 10 majors.
00:27:20 How many does he have? And what's, what's a tiger at 16?
00:27:25 I want to say Jack. Jack Nicklaus is at 18 tires at 15. Okay.
00:27:29 And he is at four, four, five.
00:27:33 No, two. No, two, two. He hasn't won anything besides the masters.
00:27:38 He has to get 10 majors. His career is already a disappointment. 10 majors at 27.
00:27:42 Yeah. That's crazy that he hasn't, he's just finished second.
00:27:45 How many majors did tiger have by the time he was 27? A lot.
00:27:49 Probably like all of them. Nine tiger woods.
00:27:53 Cause he won that, that stretch that he had the grand slam where he went from like
00:27:57 a tiger slam. So he turned 27 and Oh two,
00:28:01 he had three masters, two PGAs, two us opens and an open.
00:28:06 So it's at eight, seven. Okay. So yeah. Eight Scott, eight. Yeah.
00:28:11 So Scottie Scott is a boss. Scotty sucks. I was a bust. Yeah. No,
00:28:14 I think he's got to win at least four over under three and a half green jacket.
00:28:18 So when, when you win green jackets as you get older,
00:28:20 do they resize you every year or do they give you the same size?
00:28:23 I think they give you the same size. Yeah. Yeah.
00:28:25 That'd be funny if you got like real fat and the jackets didn't fit him at the
00:28:28 end. Yeah. Also tiger one back-to-back masters. Oh, one Oh two.
00:28:31 If Scotty wins next year, who puts on the jacket himself? Like who presents it?
00:28:36 Yeah. I think he has to present himself with a green jacket. That's sick. Yeah.
00:28:39 Yeah. I don't know. I mean, it's probably just a, what's the name? Ridley, right?
00:28:43 Oh, the owner. Yeah. The chairman.
00:28:46 He probably is rooting for that so that he can put on the jacket. Yeah.
00:28:49 Another day for him. Isn't it kind of bullshit that the other guys get jackets?
00:28:53 The members. Yeah. I think if you're just a member there, right.
00:28:55 Condoleezza Rice, I saw her wearing a green jacket.
00:28:57 You shouldn't have a green jacket. Yeah. It should be,
00:28:59 or maybe a different shade of green. I don't want to say which golfer it was,
00:29:04 but I had a friend that went home with the daughter of a, a master's champion.
00:29:09 Oh, one time to that guy's house put on the green jacket and only the green
00:29:14 jacket. I think that Augusta would have a problem with that.
00:29:18 Who could have? Hmm. You won't guess.
00:29:21 I will guess. Let me, let me, let me look. Okay. I will guess.
00:29:27 Um, Ooh, maybe Nick Faldo. No. Why not? It wasn't Nick Felder.
00:29:32 Nick Feldo. All right. I bet you Nick Felder just wears.
00:29:36 Was that guy Scott Stradler? Nope. Scottie Stradler.
00:29:39 Or Craig Stadler. Craig Stadler. Scottie Stradler.
00:29:42 Oh, poor, poor Wilford Brimley slash Craig Stadler.
00:29:47 I think we would be really good at just making up golfer's name.
00:29:49 Scottie Stradler definitely won a green jacket. Yeah. Patrick Reed. No.
00:29:54 How old do you think Patrick Reed's daughter would be?
00:29:56 DJ. No, not Marco Mira. Not Marco Mira's daughter. Freddy.
00:30:02 Then Crenshaw. Oh, okay. I got it. I didn't say no.
00:30:07 All right. Should we talk some UFC 300 that fucking rocked?
00:30:12 I, my favorite part was when that dude punched that guy in the stands as he was
00:30:16 walking out. That was awesome as well.
00:30:17 It was awesome. He threw hands at a guy that was just lean over,
00:30:20 tried to tap him up. But we had two moments that were just absolutely insane.
00:30:23 This is when I actually thought Max Homo was going to win the masters because it
00:30:28 was the weekend of Max's. We had Matt, our Max doing the, uh,
00:30:32 Philadelphia pride night parade, uh,
00:30:35 which was great to the Sixers game. And then Max Holloway versus Justin Gacci.
00:30:40 One of the coolest moments he was Max Holloway was like dominating the fight.
00:30:44 He was going to win the fight. And in the last 10 seconds,
00:30:47 he literally just pointed to the middle of the Octagon was like, meet me here.
00:30:50 Let's throw some fists. And he knocked out Justin Gacci with two seconds left.
00:30:55 And it was so fucking good. The fans, what they want. It was in credit.
00:30:58 Justin Gacci for, I mean, he was getting his ass kicked and then he's like,
00:31:01 all right, fine. I'll just get knocked out too.
00:31:03 That should be overtime and all the UFC is just standing.
00:31:05 They shrink the Octagon. Yeah. Just like five feet in diameter.
00:31:08 Just stand in there and punch each other until somebody wins. Yeah. And then,
00:31:11 and then prayer verse, uh, Jamal Hill was awesome as well because prayer got,
00:31:15 got kicked in the cup and herb Dean tried to stop the fight and he literally held
00:31:20 him off with a hand and then two seconds later knocked him out with a,
00:31:24 with a left. It was so bad ass. Yeah. Like, no, it's all right.
00:31:27 I got this and just fucking crumpled up.
00:31:29 Who's your goat referee. Is it herb Dean or is it a big John McCarthy?
00:31:32 I like herb Dean. I do. And then we also had the, uh, in the, in the female fight,
00:31:37 the, um, Oh fuck, what's her name now? People are going to get mad. Uh,
00:31:41 Wang. No, I'll find it. I'll find it.
00:31:46 Anyone want to help? Wang Lee? Wow.
00:31:50 Waley's out Zang. She choked out. She choked out, uh,
00:31:55 her opponent in the first round, but she got like saved by the, uh,
00:32:00 bell where I've never seen someone get choked out and then they just, they,
00:32:04 the bell rung. She was completely out. She basically got helped up,
00:32:08 was loopy and then fought another four rounds. Yeah, it's insane.
00:32:11 It's insane what they just bounce back from. And they're just like, yeah,
00:32:15 I'm good to go out there. I'll get punched in the face some more.
00:32:17 But that Justin Gachey max hallway moment was, that was Dana must've been so
00:32:21 pumped. That was, that was very cool.
00:32:22 Cause you had to have something like that at UFC 300.
00:32:24 Right. You had to have like a seminal moment that people would be like, Oh yeah,
00:32:27 I remember this is what happened at 300 and because people were upset with the
00:32:30 card before the actual fights happened. Right. They wanted more of a splash.
00:32:34 That was a moment that made it feel like worth it to purchase this fight.
00:32:37 And it was just, it was everything you want. Like meet me in the middle.
00:32:41 Let's fucking throw some haymakers with 10 seconds left.
00:32:44 A lot of times when you get to the end of a fight, guys will be like, all right,
00:32:48 I'm just trying to not get knocked out here. And max hallways, I mean,
00:32:52 he was going to win and he was like, fuck it. Let's just toss right now. Yeah.
00:32:56 It was very cool. Yeah. Um, and then Conor McGregor's back announced McGregor's
00:33:00 back, uh, confirmed good. Is he still good?
00:33:05 I don't think so.
00:33:06 So he might be reaching that level where it's like people will tune in to watch
00:33:09 a Conor McGregor fight. I will. I will definitely watch it.
00:33:12 But he's been out of the game for so long that it might just be like sad watching
00:33:16 him. If he might just get his ass kicked.
00:33:18 If he wins hall, he met hallway said he'd be down to fight him too.
00:33:21 That would be a good fight. I feels like, or it'd be exciting.
00:33:24 It'd be exciting. Yeah. It feels like he's risking a lot fighting because if he
00:33:30 just gets, if he, if he loses in the first round, let's say,
00:33:35 now it's okay. He hasn't won a big fight in a long time.
00:33:38 And like all the memories now I think is different. I think his legacy is cemented.
00:33:42 I think he's always going to be known as the guy that defined his era.
00:33:45 What the real upside for him is not just the fight.
00:33:48 It's for like the two months leading up to the fight where he does all the shit
00:33:52 talking and he throws water bottles at people. It's good for us.
00:33:54 He makes the way and into a circus. That's going to be good for Conor McGregor.
00:33:58 It doesn't really matter what happens and good for us and good for us.
00:34:00 It's always like what could have been if he just didn't box and it's, you know,
00:34:04 spent his prime continuing to fight because after the boxing it was that,
00:34:09 well, he lost an ATS before the boxing. Yeah, but that was a great fight.
00:34:12 That was an awesome fight. Any an ATS fight is an awesome. Yeah. Uh, okay.
00:34:17 Like that didn't hurt his legacy. No, no, no. That was warriors. Yeah. Uh,
00:34:20 all right. Anything else for her to do? Who's back the week?
00:34:23 I think I'm a believer in Mark Pope now. Oh, that was my, who's back. Okay.
00:34:26 All right. We'll save it. We'll save it. Yeah. That was my, who's back. Okay.
00:34:29 So that was yours as well. So I got a scramble, but I have to read these ads.
00:34:33 So you, you find a different one. Okay. Is that fair? Sure. Okay.
00:34:38 Uh, before we do, who's back the week game time.

00:36:23 He's a, that's Bush league. Yeah. Bush league. Did you watch it? Yeah.
00:36:28 What did he do? It was Bush league. Ask pitch. Explain,
00:36:31 describe to us what he did. Uh, he's a pitcher. Uh huh. So he wound up. Okay.
00:36:36 And he threw the ball and it was bullshit.
00:36:39 He wound up. Show us. He got called for a balk. It was a bullshit balk.
00:36:44 Show us what he did. He's a pitcher. I don't think it was called for a balk.
00:36:49 Hank, I haven't seen this story yet. Can you tell me what it is?
00:36:51 All right, so Nestor Cortez is a pitcher. Yeah, I know that. We know that.
00:36:55 Don't look at your phone. Stand up and show us. Hold on, lefty.
00:36:57 I don't know if I can do this. Hank, what team does he pitch for?
00:37:00 He pitches for the Reds. Wait, he's a Yankee. He's a lefty.
00:37:03 He's a lefty for the Reds. He's a lefty for the Reds. Yankees.
00:37:06 All right. So this is Hank doing Nestor Cortez. He wound up.
00:37:11 Yup. And then he, no, no, no.
00:37:17 So he wound up here. I'll show you what he did. You tell me, you,
00:37:21 you narrate it and tell me if it's Bush league. Okay.
00:37:26 All right. So big cat is a righty. All right. He's winding up.
00:37:28 He steps back. Full motion. Transfers. Small leg kick. Back.
00:37:32 Oh, oh, he's a fake. And throws again. He did a pump fake.
00:37:35 He was he was he acted like he was throwing bullshit.
00:37:39 He was throwing a ball to his fucking Labrador retriever at the park.
00:37:42 He did a fake and he like swung his foot and never brought it down.
00:37:47 It was just weird and bullshit.
00:37:50 Old baseball writers are very, very mad about that.
00:37:54 The real who's back of the week should have been old baseball writers getting mad at.
00:37:57 Yeah, they were calling it Bush. Yeah.
00:38:00 So what exactly are they mad at the fact that it was disrespectful to the game?
00:38:03 Uh, this is hilarious. Yeah.
00:38:07 Great balance to like incredible, but hard to do.
00:38:12 Incredible balance.
00:38:13 I mean, it's Bush league, but if he keeps doing it, I'm fine with it.
00:38:16 If he just makes it a thing.
00:38:17 I think he just got caught kind of in the air and was like,
00:38:21 I don't know what to do here, but he's been doing weird stuff.
00:38:23 This one tweet is so good.
00:38:25 Dan Clark, this so-called move by Nestor Cortez should be illegal.
00:38:30 A very mediocre pitcher trying to find an unethical advantage.
00:38:34 OK, I'm now on Cortez's side.
00:38:36 All right. Type of stuff belongs in the in Savannah in parentheses.
00:38:40 Bananas not in the major league.
00:38:43 All right. I'm now I now think it's an awesome pitch.
00:38:45 An unethical advantage. I didn't know it made people that mad.
00:38:48 So I mean, there's no way this is actually like a strategy that could like.
00:38:52 Yeah, like he has no, but it was like 70.
00:38:53 It's actually impressive that it was still 76.
00:38:55 Yeah. So what are the rules?
00:38:57 You can't you if you I've just thrown your hand.
00:38:59 I was late. Fake.
00:39:01 Then you have to let go of the ball.
00:39:02 Yeah. Nothing seems illegal here.
00:39:04 It's just it doesn't seem like a strategy that would work.
00:39:06 It was crazy.
00:39:08 Because you have no momentum.
00:39:09 But yeah. All right.
00:39:10 So I'm on Nestor Cortez's side now.
00:39:12 If it makes people mad, that's that rules.
00:39:14 Yeah. Crazy. Not bullshit.
00:39:16 I knew it wasn't.
00:39:17 How did you find that without seeing the video?
00:39:19 Max just tweeted me.
00:39:20 I was going to look. I was going to look for it.
00:39:22 And then I was like, let's just see what happens.
00:39:24 I text me, whatever.
00:39:26 He just said Nestor Cortez, but I was going to look for it.
00:39:28 And I said, you know what?
00:39:29 Let's just go for it. Let's just go for it.
00:39:32 I didn't. OK.
00:39:34 I mean, you were the odds were stacked against you because we we had the same
00:39:38 who's back. Thank you.
00:39:39 That was actually a very good job. Thank you.
00:39:40 You can't give in the circumstance.
00:39:41 I catch up on sleep this weekend.
00:39:43 I did. I'm well rested. Good.
00:39:44 Sober as a goat. Sober as a goat.
00:39:47 Goats are sober. Is that what you're saying?
00:39:49 Is that a saying? OK.
00:39:51 Sober as a judge.
00:39:53 Sober as a nun.
00:39:55 Those work. Goat?
00:39:58 I don't know.
00:39:58 No, goats would drink any liquor.
00:40:00 Yeah. And I think they probably would eat grapes.
00:40:03 Yeah. Well, not Tom Brady.
00:40:05 That's true. The antioxidants.
00:40:07 Yeah. That is bad inflammation.
00:40:09 That is also my who's back of the week is Tom Brady.
00:40:11 Oh, I thought goats. No goat.
00:40:13 Well, a goat, a goat. Tom Brady.
00:40:15 He is sober.
00:40:17 He went on. I don't know if it's a podcast or a show.
00:40:19 His. He was getting his haircut, which my understanding was
00:40:23 that was trademarked by LeBron James.
00:40:25 Yeah. Having a conversation at a barbershop.
00:40:27 That's true.
00:40:28 But he was getting his haircut and they asked him about coming back to the NFL.
00:40:31 And he said that he would be down for it.
00:40:32 Oh. And then he mentioned specifically,
00:40:34 because I forget what team the barber brought up.
00:40:38 But then Tom Brady was like, maybe the Patriots, maybe the Raiders.
00:40:41 So, Hank, your goat Tom Brady
00:40:44 might come back and play for the Patriots.
00:40:47 That would be fantastic.
00:40:49 Hank, where are you at right now with Drake May?
00:40:51 We I know we have draft talk coming up in a week
00:40:54 because it's going to be draft week, which I think they should move the draft up.
00:40:59 I think the draft should happen.
00:41:01 I guess you can't do it. March Madness to.
00:41:03 Master, we really need it the week after the Masters.
00:41:07 Yeah, because it just feels like I'm just ready for the draft to happen.
00:41:10 We know what the picks are.
00:41:11 Well, they're going to give you two weeks of buildup.
00:41:13 Yeah, yes. You're going to eat it up.
00:41:15 I'm going to be there Friday night.
00:41:16 I'm going to be so sick of draft talk by the time the actual draft happens.
00:41:19 Brandon, Iuke wants a trade. Yeah.
00:41:22 So where are you with Drake May or Tom Brady or Jane Daniels?
00:41:26 Or Tom Brady or Tom Brady or Caleb Williams, who would you pick?
00:41:30 I would pick not Caleb Williams because he's not yours. He's mine.
00:41:34 I'm still down for Marvin Harrison Jr.
00:41:37 Oh, who's going to throw on the ball?
00:41:39 No one. Bailey's out.
00:41:40 Oh, we said, yeah.
00:41:43 There's plenty of fine quarterbacks.
00:41:46 Oh, you're so far.
00:41:50 There's not three.
00:41:52 There's not three franchise quarterbacks probably in the top.
00:41:55 You know what I mean? Like what are the odds of that?
00:41:56 What are the odds that the third?
00:41:58 Well, I agree with that.
00:41:59 Franchise quarterback or you have a franchise wide receiver
00:42:02 who's a stud and can actually make things happen with a perfectly fine
00:42:06 Jacoby Percet.
00:42:07 I mean, if there's Patriots win totals, you're going to have like the thing is
00:42:10 we need five wins.
00:42:11 You have to get a quarterback at some point.
00:42:13 Wait, so Hank Hank is doing the Joe Burrow meme.
00:42:16 But instead of where's Joe Burrow and Penae Sewell blocking for him?
00:42:20 Throw it to literally anyone.
00:42:21 Joe Burrow, anyone blocking for him and he incompletes it to Jamar Chase.
00:42:26 Hank's doing literally anyone blocked by literally anyone.
00:42:31 Completion to Marvin Harrison. Yeah.
00:42:34 I mean, he was.
00:42:35 I like that. You need to draw that meme.
00:42:36 And then the other one is like first round left tackle.
00:42:39 Tom Brady incomplete to not Marvin Harrison.
00:42:43 Exactly.
00:42:45 Well, if we get Marvin Harrison and get Tom Brady, then we're cooking with gas.
00:42:48 Yeah, that's true.
00:42:49 You get Tom Brady.
00:42:50 That would be in a good.
00:42:51 That would be one of the best combinations instantly in the NFL.
00:42:54 Wait. So but if Tom Brady went to the Patriots like they can't pretend that
00:42:59 Belichick and Brady can't pretend that they liked each other ever again.
00:43:04 I think you'd be waiting till Belichick left and Tom Brady.
00:43:07 I mean, it's been made pretty clear.
00:43:09 I understand.
00:43:10 I understand, but it's like that would be for it to get a 47 year old
00:43:14 Tom Brady out of retirement to a rebuilding team.
00:43:16 Yeah, it was made.
00:43:17 It was made clear when he left to begin with.
00:43:19 But and then and then him putting it out there even makes it even more clear
00:43:22 that now I would be willing to go back.
00:43:24 Yeah. Oh, Belichick's not coaching anywhere in the NFL.
00:43:27 What changed in this offseason, Tom?
00:43:29 You know, I'm just I realize I love the game again.
00:43:31 Yeah. Wonder if Belichick got like a job right now.
00:43:35 If you'd be like, no, I don't want to.
00:43:36 Yeah. They rehire Bill Brady, get the gang back together.
00:43:39 All right. So so you're you don't want a quarterback.
00:43:43 I think you need to these next two weeks, you have to get yourself
00:43:47 prepped for Drake May.
00:43:48 You know, we need your big board.
00:43:50 You need to be ready for Drake May.
00:43:52 Oh, is it's going to happen.
00:43:54 And then you're going to have to talk about it.
00:43:56 It's guaranteed to happen.
00:43:57 I would say it's more likely than not to be JJ.
00:44:00 Oh, could be JJ.
00:44:02 You might get JJ.
00:44:03 Could be JJ.
00:44:03 National champion.
00:44:05 You know who JJ is?
00:44:06 Yeah. OK.
00:44:07 Which school's he play for?
00:44:09 Michigan. Yeah.
00:44:10 Throwing to Marvin Harrison.
00:44:11 Wouldn't that be a little bit difficult?
00:44:13 I mean, yeah, we'll see.
00:44:16 I'll do I'll I'll lock in this week and do some draft research.
00:44:20 Yeah, because we used to have have Billy's quarterback bracket,
00:44:22 which was a great part of the show.
00:44:24 Billy's no longer around.
00:44:25 He's running for Congress.
00:44:26 He has a news conference at 630.
00:44:28 I think he's taking on the mob.
00:44:29 Anyways, he's doing something smart.
00:44:31 So we need Hank.
00:44:33 I think you have to step up.
00:44:34 Your top ten.
00:44:35 Phil Billy's shoes.
00:44:36 But your top ten starting at number three.
00:44:38 Yeah, so three through 13.
00:44:41 So assume that Caleb Williams or Jaden Daniels
00:44:45 or Drake may maybe has been taken at that point.
00:44:48 Yeah. And then give us your.
00:44:50 And then I want like a little blurb about every player, too.
00:44:52 OK, is this a once an episode thing?
00:44:56 No, no, no, no.
00:44:58 This week, this week, we'll do a Friday.
00:45:00 It might not even have a day.
00:45:03 Is Friday going to work?
00:45:05 How much tape that on Thursdays and Thursdays?
00:45:07 What time?
00:45:08 When we do 11.
00:45:10 OK, we can just blurb.
00:45:13 Hank, we're honestly asking you to write ten blurbs.
00:45:15 OK, yeah.
00:45:16 And you can you can most likely.
00:45:18 And what you will do is just take them from someone else.
00:45:20 No, I'll do it myself.
00:45:23 I would like you to watch.
00:45:24 I'll watch YouTube videos.
00:45:26 Yeah. Do a blurb.
00:45:27 Watch a highlight.
00:45:27 Yeah. But yeah, Brandon, Iuke, that was.
00:45:30 Yeah, it's like the 49ers are on that.
00:45:33 Like they're going to have to make some hard decisions soon.
00:45:35 They can't get their signed Brock Purdy.
00:45:37 Yeah, they can't keep everyone around.
00:45:38 And also T Higgins said that he wanted to trade to.
00:45:40 Yeah, he got franchise.
00:45:41 Now I think T Higgins is like, Syke, I'm going to stick around and play.
00:45:44 Now I did a football camp and the kids, I guess one of the kids
00:45:48 asked him a question about he was like, No, I think I'm going to be Bengal.
00:45:50 So you can ask for a trade all you want.
00:45:52 And I felt but they don't actually have to trade you.
00:45:54 Shout out to kids.
00:45:55 How about that kid?
00:45:57 We didn't even mention it.
00:45:57 The kid when Scotty touched his ball, he's like, No, it didn't move.
00:46:00 Yeah, it was like a seven year old that we just took the like, okay, he said it.
00:46:05 I guess kids don't really lie like that.
00:46:07 They don't really understand how to.
00:46:09 Yeah.
00:46:09 What if a kid just like kicked his ball into the middle of the fairway?
00:46:12 That would be hilarious.
00:46:14 Yeah. On the fly.
00:46:15 You can do it if it's on the fly, right?
00:46:16 Yeah. And they probably wouldn't kick out a kid.
00:46:18 No.
00:46:18 OK, so your who's back is Tom Tom Brady.
00:46:22 Tom Brady's back.
00:46:22 Yeah.
00:46:23 My who's back is Kentucky basketball and Mark Pope.
00:46:26 Yeah, I'm with you.
00:46:27 I think I'm a believer in Mark Pope now.
00:46:29 So Mark Pope, they had the 96 Wildcats who Mark Pope was the captain of that team.
00:46:34 They drove a bus into Rupp.
00:46:36 Rupp was, by the way, packed to the gills.
00:46:39 And all of the players came out.
00:46:41 Mark Pope came out with the trophy.
00:46:43 I was saying this on Thursday, I think, is when they hired Mark Pope.
00:46:48 If you're a Kentucky fan and you don't like this hire, I understand.
00:46:52 You thought you were going to get Nate Oats.
00:46:53 You thought you were going to get Danny Hurley.
00:46:54 You thought you're going to get Billy Donovan, all these things.
00:46:56 Nostalgia is a very powerful drug.
00:46:59 Like I would just if I were a Kentucky fan right now, I'd just be looking at
00:47:02 pictures of Mark Pope and Rick Pitino and be like, this is this.
00:47:05 We're going back.
00:47:06 Sometimes you got to go back.
00:47:07 Yeah. Getting the alumni back on campus.
00:47:09 I think they had like 15000 people.
00:47:10 Yeah. Rupp today.
00:47:11 So, I mean, you wanted a splashy hire.
00:47:14 You wanted a coach that was going to come in and everybody be like, OK, this guy is
00:47:18 worthy of the Kentucky job.
00:47:20 But there's no guarantee that a guy like that is going to work out long term.
00:47:23 Right. Who knows if Pope works out, it's going to be the best thing ever.
00:47:26 If he doesn't work out, it's not.
00:47:28 Yeah. You'd rather have made a better hire at the time.
00:47:30 But an old guy that won a championship there.
00:47:32 You're right. The nostalgia having all the players around.
00:47:35 It feels like it could be fun.
00:47:37 We also had Max had a great point last week where he said that all the boosters,
00:47:42 all the money that would have gone to Danny Hurley's 15, 20 million dollar
00:47:46 contract can now go to NIL deals, including Rick Pitino said that he'd pitch in.
00:47:53 I'd never heard. I'd never seen that before.
00:47:55 He's Rick Pitino is going to pitch in for Kentucky's NIL.
00:47:58 Yeah. For what?
00:47:59 Because he's Mark Pope's coach.
00:48:01 That's crazy. And they're going to do a home and home, I think, with St.
00:48:05 John's, which rocks.
00:48:06 That's crazy to me that Pitino just wants to coach Kentucky.
00:48:09 Yeah. He was just like, I'll get on.
00:48:10 He did a video being like Mark Pope is the man.
00:48:13 And, you know, if he needs help, I'll help him.
00:48:16 That's insane. Yeah.
00:48:17 If I was a St. John's fan, well, I would not be happy about.
00:48:20 Remember, it's Rick Pitino.
00:48:22 Not as much as he wants to go back to Kentucky.
00:48:24 He wants the guy who came after Cal to succeed.
00:48:27 Yeah. He hates Cal.
00:48:28 Yeah. Which this is what college sports are about.
00:48:31 Rivalries and deep seated hate.
00:48:32 He hates Cal.
00:48:34 Yeah. Because Cal, you know, made everyone forget about Rick Pitino.
00:48:38 So, yeah, Rick Pitino's ready to ready to chip in.
00:48:42 It's ready to go. All right, Jake.
00:48:44 My who's back the weakest people being mad online.
00:48:47 So I think we talked about this with with the other day, but they do the media
00:48:52 lottery every year.
00:48:54 This is this is crazy.
00:48:55 This is. Yeah.
00:48:56 And one of the winners is a reporter from a local news station named Julia.
00:49:01 Julia won the lottery.
00:49:03 This will be her first round of golf ever.
00:49:06 That rocks. And people are that wrong.
00:49:09 I think that is like that mad right there.
00:49:11 Henry Lockwood, keeper of golf.
00:49:14 That's awesome.
00:49:16 I hope she shoots 3000 feet.
00:49:19 Yeah, but I think she should like
00:49:21 I'd be like you taking your son out for his first time golf at Augusta.
00:49:24 And you'd be like, but it was your first time playing, too.
00:49:27 And the whole time you'd be like, how do you hit the ball?
00:49:28 Yeah, yeah, it's gonna be awesome.
00:49:30 It is funny. That's so funny.
00:49:32 I hope she just skips like seven holes and she's like, I don't really feel like
00:49:36 playing this when I got nine on the last.
00:49:37 How can you not find the humor in that?
00:49:39 There's humor in it, but it's oh, it's great.
00:49:42 People are saying the respectful thing to do would just be to decline.
00:49:45 No, no, no.
00:49:46 Three other. You won the lottery.
00:49:48 How do you won the lottery? You got to play.
00:49:50 She won. And by the way, like Hank are going to sit there and just be so.
00:49:54 I hope she posts her score and it's literally the lottery.
00:49:58 You're on a round of golf.
00:49:59 If you've never wanted to play a round of golf in your life, it's Augusta.
00:50:03 You're covering it. Yeah.
00:50:04 Imagine being able to be like, yeah, I played one round of golf in my life.
00:50:07 It was at Augusta.
00:50:08 Why would you cover golf and never had any point in your life?
00:50:11 Be like, maybe I should go and hit a couple balls.
00:50:13 Yes. Covering golf.
00:50:14 She won fair and square.
00:50:15 He is. I guess.
00:50:17 So I'm not sure. But why?
00:50:18 Yeah, I'm not so mad.
00:50:20 She's gonna take massive divots in the middle of the fairway.
00:50:23 Why would you be mad at all people?
00:50:24 Like the only people that could.
00:50:25 I'm not mad.
00:50:26 I just think it's someone else in the lottery.
00:50:29 It doesn't affect our lives at all.
00:50:31 It doesn't affect my life at all either.
00:50:33 But why?
00:50:34 You're mad. But why enter?
00:50:36 Because it's Augusta.
00:50:37 How do you not enter?
00:50:38 Yeah, you have to enter.
00:50:39 Because you've never had at any point in your life been like, I want to go play golf.
00:50:44 So why now?
00:50:45 I think you don't even have to play golf to enjoy a nice round of golf.
00:50:48 I hope they make this a new tradition.
00:50:51 Just finding one person who doesn't even like golf.
00:50:53 Yeah.
00:50:54 And like kidnapping them and forcing them to go to Augusta.
00:50:57 I hope you post your scorecard.
00:50:59 Oh, we got to fake a scorecard and post it and be like, look, here's the person who won it and have it be legitimately like 375.
00:51:10 Every hole is a 22.
00:51:14 And I hope she gets a hole in one by mistake.
00:51:16 That's what I would put on my card.
00:51:18 Yeah.
00:51:18 She gets a hole in one shoots a 300.
00:51:20 Oh, man.
00:51:21 How mad would people be if we played Augusta and I did a fake scorecard?
00:51:25 Oh, what if you're behind her?
00:51:27 What if you get an opportunity to play Augusta and then you can't play?
00:51:31 You don't finish your round because she's in front of you.
00:51:34 She doesn't know how to play.
00:51:35 I like how mad this made Hank.
00:51:37 He's so pissed about this.
00:51:39 I wasn't mad.
00:51:40 Oh, yeah, you're mad.
00:51:41 Dude, you're so mad that she's getting to play Augusta.
00:51:44 Her name wasn't even in the lottery.
00:51:45 Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
00:51:47 If your name was in the lottery, I could understand being like, fuck this.
00:51:50 I really wish I could play.
00:51:51 Yeah, we're never going to play.
00:51:54 That's what it is.
00:51:55 Hank thinks he's going to play Augusta.
00:51:56 I'll never play Augusta.
00:51:57 No, you think.
00:51:58 Well, if we cover it and we have credentials, we'll be in the lottery.
00:52:01 I'll never cover it.
00:52:02 Yeah, I'll never cover it either.
00:52:04 I'll cover it.
00:52:04 So, Jake, will you be more mad about this woman playing it or Jake playing it?
00:52:09 I would be thrilled for Jake if he played it.
00:52:12 By the way, big nerd move.
00:52:13 I saw a few people doing, they were making it, they were like A-G-N-C.
00:52:19 Just call it Augusta, dude.
00:52:20 Oh, yeah, I don't like that.
00:52:22 Or A-G-N-G-C.
00:52:24 You're not a member there.
00:52:25 It's the same characters, though.
00:52:26 Yeah, but just come on, just say Augusta.
00:52:28 It's the masters.
00:52:29 All right, let's get to Scott Van Pelt.

00:54:07 Okay, we now welcome on one of our very, very good friends, a tradition unlike any other.
00:54:14 It is Scott Van Pelt calling us from the airport in Georgia.
00:54:19 Scott, before we talk about the Masters, just want to say thank you as always for joining
00:54:26 us.
00:54:27 Last year, people who were listening when Scott was getting a phone call from his neighbor
00:54:31 and it turned out that his house was on fire.
00:54:34 I'm happy we're a year removed from that and everything is good, right?
00:54:40 On track.
00:54:41 We're good.
00:54:42 I will say this week is always my favorite week of the year, as you boys know.
00:54:46 This is a big part of it.
00:54:47 I always enjoy visiting.
00:54:49 It's wild to be sitting in this airport a year later and remember when I was getting
00:54:55 a call from a neighbor and your house was on fire.
00:54:59 Not great.
00:55:00 That was a shitty night.
00:55:02 But we're a year removed.
00:55:03 We're almost back and we're good.
00:55:07 Masters week was awesome.
00:55:08 So, nothing but blue skies ahead, I hope.
00:55:12 All right.
00:55:13 I can't imagine what that flight was like after you get the call that your house is
00:55:16 on fire and then you have to go up in a plane and lose cell service for a few hours.
00:55:21 When you land, you just hope that everything's okay.
00:55:24 Well, you know what's wild about that?
00:55:26 Honestly, PFTA is that my best friend went to my house.
00:55:32 Think about whoever that person is for you that would go to your house if your house
00:55:36 was on fire.
00:55:38 Once we got to a high enough place where you got cell service, I sent a note and I'm like,
00:55:42 how bad are we talking?
00:55:43 I see dot, dot, dot.
00:55:46 We all are familiar with the text with the dot, dot, dot, which is like the late night
00:55:52 dot, dot, dot.
00:55:53 Maybe something great's about to happen in that dot, dot, dot.
00:55:56 Well, I'm just waiting to see what he says and then nothing.
00:56:00 I'm like, oh shit.
00:56:01 He's trying to figure out how to tell me this.
00:56:04 I finally get the answer back and it's like, it's bad, but it could have been worse.
00:56:13 You have a best friend that was telling you this and I'm thinking that means if you got
00:56:18 into a fight with a man with a machete, he cut off your arm, but you're not dead.
00:56:25 That was the way I was rationalizing it.
00:56:28 I got home that night and it was like, you know, one 30 in the morning and you walk in
00:56:31 and you're like, whoa, this is bad.
00:56:33 Like is in my head.
00:56:34 Like by the time we took off last year, I was like, well, it's out.
00:56:38 They got it contained.
00:56:39 And I'm like, ah, no big deal.
00:56:41 We're good.
00:56:42 We'll, we'll, we'll get a broom and we'll sweep some stuff up.
00:56:44 We'll live in the other half of the house and you get home and you're like, oh no, it's
00:56:47 going to be a year and change.
00:56:48 So anyway, um, it was, it was not great, man.
00:56:52 It was, it was, it was also like, I just think about it because you are the consummate pro
00:56:58 and like I said, thank you so much.
00:56:59 We love having you on this show every year.
00:57:02 And I remember you getting the beep like through your phone and you ignored it and then you
00:57:07 texted me after you're like, that was a interesting call that I was getting.
00:57:11 It was a little more serious.
00:57:13 Uh, yeah, yeah.
00:57:14 But you are, you are, you are the best for coming on with us.
00:57:17 So let's talk about this masters.
00:57:19 Scotty Schaeffler, uh, absolute domination.
00:57:22 I, I, when we, when we started the show and we were talking about it, I, I threw out there
00:57:27 and I want to hear what your take is on this, that, uh, the wind on Friday and Saturday
00:57:32 kind of fooled us to be like, oh, someone else could win this masters because everyone
00:57:37 was kind of on the same spot where it's like, it's hard to get birdies and even for Scotty.
00:57:42 And then when the wind died down, you saw today, it was just like, no, I'm the best
00:57:46 golfer in the world and it's not close.
00:57:48 That's, that's hashtag big cat golf insider.
00:57:52 I feel like you're, you're on, you're on it.
00:57:54 It's that's pretty accurate.
00:57:56 The thing I'd say is about this is when the day started, we were, a lot of us at the course
00:58:00 were entertaining the thought that somebody could go out and shoot something low because
00:58:04 the people, Max, I, we are a lot of us rooting for Max.
00:58:07 If he could just start making some putts, he hit the ball so beautifully.
00:58:11 Morakow has won a couple of majors.
00:58:13 Oberg is going to be a monster forever.
00:58:15 Like somebody is going to go shoot something low, uh, because it felt like it typically
00:58:19 is out there on a Sunday, but it was really, it was a challenging week.
00:58:23 And ultimately the guy that went low was, was Scotty.
00:58:26 You're, you're, you're right that the wind, the wind was insane.
00:58:29 Like Scotty afterwards, just try to explain it.
00:58:31 Um, like he said on 15 on Friday, he hit driver three iron and he had a layup to like 70 yards
00:58:39 in cause it was into the wind today.
00:58:40 He hit driver four iron and he was on the green, uh, or the bunker.
00:58:44 But like it was, the wind was, is I've never seen it like that.
00:58:47 And I've been coming here for a long, long time.
00:58:49 Like it was just so steady and, and relentless and it did create maybe a sense that it was
00:58:55 going to be, um, you know, somebody could catch him, but he's, he's got a different
00:59:00 gear at the moment and he's, um, he's just an awesome guy.
00:59:02 Has he been on with you?
00:59:03 No, he hasn't.
00:59:04 We actually, we don't know that much about him cause he doesn't do a whole lot of press.
00:59:09 So we don't know that much about his, he seems like a very nice person and a very private
00:59:13 person.
00:59:14 Is that fair?
00:59:15 Yes.
00:59:16 But I think more than that, like he, I think he just, he has the
00:59:19 best sort of sense of what he cares about.
00:59:23 And he's not a social media person.
00:59:25 He's a simple guy in that he loves, he's, he's got a huge guy.
00:59:30 He's got great faith.
00:59:32 He's a huge family guy.
00:59:33 That family is getting ready to, to, to have an addition.
00:59:36 And like a lot of people in sports, not just golf, but in sports, like they reach a certain
00:59:41 point and then they think they have to keep getting better.
00:59:44 And they like, they, they try like tiger did it forever.
00:59:46 He was like, I got, I got to keep getting better.
00:59:48 And so I would always say to him, no, you don't, you just have to wake up and keep being
00:59:53 who you are.
00:59:54 I think the genius of Scotty is he's like, I'm real good with whatever this is.
00:59:59 And I'm not trying to change any of it.
01:00:02 And when he says stuff like, look, I'm, my identity is secure and it doesn't change with
01:00:07 this.
01:00:08 I really believe it.
01:00:09 He won like 12 million in a month and I don't think it matters to him at all.
01:00:12 So that's, that's rare.
01:00:14 Like it's really rare to be as good as he is at what he does and not have it impact
01:00:19 who he is at all.
01:00:21 And I really don't think it does.
01:00:23 Yeah.
01:00:24 And it's lip service when someone says that.
01:00:25 Yeah.
01:00:26 And usually the personality of somebody, I promise you I'd be different.
01:00:30 I'd be like, I was just too horrible.
01:00:32 I don't know what I do, but even as an old man, like I do crazy shit.
01:00:35 If I want all that money, I just blow it, go to Vegas, meet PFT and at that spot, get
01:00:41 a bag of whatever that was.
01:00:43 Oh yeah.
01:00:44 Mushrooms.
01:00:45 I was, I was, I didn't want to bring it up, but since you brought it up, I wanted to,
01:00:49 to apologize to you, Scott, because I do recall running into you in the casino and there was
01:00:54 some other friends around.
01:00:55 I was halfway to the moon on some mushrooms and I had a bag and I just like took them
01:01:01 out in the open with everybody around us and handed it to somebody else.
01:01:05 And then I was like, oh yeah, Scott's right in front of us as we're doing this.
01:01:09 Probably not the place that he wants to be seen.
01:01:12 If I could add one little caveat to the story, PFT looks straight up at me and goes, that,
01:01:19 that wasn't really very subtle, was it?
01:01:23 Not really.
01:01:24 I mean, this has been a banner week for stories.
01:01:27 We have that.
01:01:28 I got to tell the Chris long story of how he stayed on a soft 16, which you don't see
01:01:33 that a lot.
01:01:34 You know, it's great to see everybody.
01:01:37 I had a blast.
01:01:39 We run a real tight operation over here cause he, they were my mushrooms.
01:01:42 I left early to try to be like a great dad and get home early.
01:01:45 I was like, PFT, take my mushrooms cause I would've eaten them with you.
01:01:49 I would've been a bad friend if I didn't take them for big cat.
01:01:52 How funny was it?
01:01:53 Yeah.
01:01:54 Yeah.
01:01:55 So instead of eating mushrooms, you were, you were home in time to eat donuts.
01:01:59 Yes, exactly.
01:02:00 Exactly.
01:02:01 But I, but when PFT started sending the pictures, I was like, I should've stayed and eaten the
01:02:05 mushrooms.
01:02:06 Yeah.
01:02:07 Look, here's me with big Dom and my pupils are the size of big Dom's head.
01:02:09 We got to make up for it.
01:02:10 We went to the final four and ate a bunch of mushrooms there.
01:02:12 That's very true.
01:02:13 All right.
01:02:14 It all works out.
01:02:15 We're not drug guys though.
01:02:16 We don't do drugs.
01:02:17 But to your point about Scotty, it is, it's weird to have such great perspective and to
01:02:22 be that dominant at your sport because every, you think of like all the other greats like
01:02:28 Tiger Woods, Tom Brady, they, they have zero perspective on real life, right?
01:02:34 They're just focused on being the best at their sport and that's what drives them to
01:02:38 just dominate people.
01:02:39 But Scott is just like, yeah, you know who I am as a golfer doesn't define me, but he
01:02:43 just happens to be the best fucking golfer in the world by a large margin.
01:02:47 By a lot.
01:02:48 And I think, you know, you hear from the very beginning, people talk about like, oh, this
01:02:51 dude, he's like an old soul.
01:02:53 And he really is.
01:02:54 I, I was asking myself this today and I thought it seemed like it had to be longer ago, but
01:03:00 it was the, it was the November masters.
01:03:02 It was the one in 2020.
01:03:04 I'd never met him and I knew he was this, you know, one of the next big things in the
01:03:08 sport.
01:03:09 So there's no one here.
01:03:10 And I just wandered over when he was finishing up a practice round to introduce myself.
01:03:14 And that was 2020, like he's played in five of these and he's won two already.
01:03:19 And I mean, the thing about this sport and we're not great at this in golf or in any
01:03:25 sport really, when somebody shows up and they become something like this, you just say,
01:03:29 well, this is how it's going to be forever.
01:03:30 So it mostly that's not how life works, but if anybody has the ability to stay in this
01:03:39 lane, I bet on him because again, I don't want to be redundant, which is what I'm doing.
01:03:44 But like, he just doesn't seem to have vices or things that could get in the way of any
01:03:49 of it.
01:03:50 Presuming he stays healthy.
01:03:51 I think it'll just keep just obliterating people.
01:03:54 Yeah.
01:03:55 Yeah.
01:03:56 It's, it's crazy story.
01:03:57 And he does, he's a very likable guy.
01:03:58 All right.
01:03:59 So Scott put this into perspective for us.
01:04:01 Tiger obviously didn't do great today or the weekend, but 24 consecutive cuts at Augusta.
01:04:08 It we take it for granted.
01:04:11 But it seems like, like looking back, it's like, holy shit, that's an insane stat to
01:04:15 have not having one time where you had a Thursday and Friday one off round can ruin that streak.
01:04:22 Yeah, it's, it's yes.
01:04:26 What you said is exactly right.
01:04:28 But I think for so long, big cat, he, and he did it this week.
01:04:32 Like I'm here to win and like, all right, listen, you've earned the right.
01:04:35 You're allowed to say that because you're you.
01:04:38 But I also think if he's being honest, the guy had played like 24 holes of golf all year
01:04:45 and he had to play 23 holes of golf on Friday.
01:04:49 And if you were up early with us Friday morning, we came on like seven 45 and you could see
01:04:53 like it was cold out.
01:04:55 He's moving like an old guy that has a fused back in a busted up leg.
01:04:58 He's stiff.
01:04:59 He can't move.
01:05:00 And you're thinking, oh, this is going to be a hard, this is gonna be a hard day, man.
01:05:03 And he just stayed like he, it looked miserable, like every moment looked miserable, but he
01:05:08 has this gear, this thing inside of her.
01:05:11 He just stares at whatever that pain or that adversity is.
01:05:16 And he's like, Hey, fuck you.
01:05:18 Cause I'm me and I'm going to win.
01:05:21 And him making the cut at one over was winning.
01:05:24 And that's the win for this week for him because he didn't have the ability to play 72 holes
01:05:29 right now.
01:05:30 And it was really cool.
01:05:31 And Max came into the Butler cabin to be able to ask Max, obviously about what he was doing,
01:05:37 which was incredible.
01:05:38 But you guys know how much he reveres Tiger.
01:05:41 And he got to play alongside the guy for two days and just sort of give us the context
01:05:44 of what it's like to see the greatest of this generation battle his ass off just to play
01:05:50 the weekend.
01:05:51 And you could hear it in Max's, you know, his answers about how I just had the best
01:05:56 seat to watch the guy do it.
01:05:57 It was, it was awesome that he made the cut.
01:06:01 And then, you know, then the hard thing is now you got to play 36 more and he goes 82,
01:06:06 77.
01:06:07 He's never finished last in the masters.
01:06:08 He's finished first five times, never finished last after making the cut he did this week.
01:06:13 But you know, it's not patronizing.
01:06:15 I don't think to say that making the cut is the win for him for this week because of the
01:06:19 record you just mentioned.
01:06:21 Yeah.
01:06:22 Yeah.
01:06:23 Is the big winner and all that Charlie Woods being the swing coach that got his dad to
01:06:26 make the cut at the masters?
01:06:30 He's so awesome.
01:06:31 Like I was asking Justin Thomas about him and he's like, he's just the best because
01:06:34 he's got all this game and he talks all this crap and you could just imagine it, right?
01:06:38 Like imagine you're Tiger's kid and you're really good and you can hit it farther than
01:06:43 your dad and you can be on the range of the gust and just be like, this is not what we
01:06:47 talked about.
01:06:48 Let's go.
01:06:49 Let's tighten it up.
01:06:50 Let's tighten it up, old man.
01:06:51 And I mean, I don't know him.
01:06:53 I just gave him knuckles the other day.
01:06:54 I'm like, how are we doing?
01:06:55 Like, yeah, he's like, we're getting there.
01:06:56 Talking about his own game.
01:06:57 But like you can just, you know, I mean you can imagine you could go one of two ways if
01:07:03 you're the, you know, if you're the son of Tiger, like you could just be like this obnoxious
01:07:06 kid that sucks or you could be the coolest kid in the room and he's the coolest kid in
01:07:10 the room.
01:07:11 Just so you know, uh, not in creepy way.
01:07:13 We have dibs on him.
01:07:14 So I know that you, you think he's cool, but he did have a part of my tape club, uh, cover
01:07:20 uh, that we saw a couple of years ago.
01:07:22 So he's probably listening to this right now.
01:07:23 We have dibs.
01:07:25 You can have him.
01:07:26 I got, I got to have the relationship with dad that are, that helped me have my life.
01:07:31 You guys are certainly obviously big, big, bigger stars in me for the future.
01:07:35 So by, by all means, Charlie Woods is all, all part of my tank.
01:07:39 Charlie Woods is basically like our future investment.
01:07:41 Yeah.
01:07:42 He's our real ticket to staying relevant throughout our 50s.
01:07:44 Yeah.
01:07:45 When people are like, this show sucks.
01:07:46 You guys are so old.
01:07:47 Right.
01:07:48 But Charlie Woods comes on once a month and yeah.
01:07:49 Charlie, all the stuff I got on Twitter was like just two or two AWS in the, in the Butler
01:07:58 cab.
01:07:59 Like that was like kind of a cool thing.
01:08:00 I hope for you guys too.
01:08:03 Oh, very cool.
01:08:04 It's very cool.
01:08:05 And we were rooting so hard for Max and he played, I think he played really well.
01:08:08 He, there was no way he was going to be able to compete with Scotty on Sunday, but it did.
01:08:13 It did make me think like, yeah, max max could actually win this as long as maybe, maybe
01:08:18 Scotty's wife goes into labor like 72 hours earlier and then he's got a chance to win
01:08:23 on Sunday.
01:08:24 Yep.
01:08:25 You know what?
01:08:26 Yes.
01:08:27 That would have been helpful if you got the, if, if, if, if Scotty got the phone call and
01:08:30 I honest to God, I think he would have left like a knock twice, like whatever.
01:08:33 I got a green jacket.
01:08:34 I don't have a kid.
01:08:35 I got to go home.
01:08:36 But Max was so good and it's just, he just needed to make a, he needed to make some putts
01:08:42 yesterday.
01:08:43 If he made putts Saturday, I think he could have won today.
01:08:46 At some point you just have to, you start applying pressure cause you just know that
01:08:50 you're running out of holes, you know, like I've got to, and he just, it had to be incredibly
01:08:54 frustrating just to be so close so often and, and just not be able to get the putts to drop.
01:09:00 But it's still for him and for Morikawa both, neither had had great years so far.
01:09:05 And so, you know, for both of them to play, for both of them to play well this week is
01:09:12 a big springboard moving forward.
01:09:13 You're not getting a call right now, are you?
01:09:16 No, no, no.
01:09:17 That made me scared.
01:09:18 I got it.
01:09:19 I get, this is so, this is the truth.
01:09:20 I got a text and I looked at him like, please don't be really scared there for a second.
01:09:23 You look like, Oh no, I, for, for Max.
01:09:27 So I, I, I love the journey that he's, he's going through cause you, I, everyone knows,
01:09:31 you know, he grinded for a long time, corn fairy, PJ back to corn fairy.
01:09:36 And for the last few years it's been like not being able to perform at his highest level
01:09:40 in the majors.
01:09:41 Last year he finished his top 10 this year.
01:09:44 He's in, he's, he's there.
01:09:46 Like he can do it.
01:09:47 So it's like, it's a climb.
01:09:48 It sucks.
01:09:49 But were you able to talk to him after?
01:09:50 Like, how is he, how is he doing?
01:09:51 Our Max back girl wanted to have him on this week and we're like, fuck no dude, we can't
01:09:56 have him on after this.
01:09:57 Like he needs some time, but were you able to talk to him?
01:10:01 I didn't see him when it ended because we go right up to our set to get ready to do
01:10:05 our thing.
01:10:06 And like, honestly, there's, to me, and I'm sure you guys are similar, right?
01:10:11 Like we're really blessed to know these people and they're just people.
01:10:16 And if it were you, I'd be psyched that you were in the mix and I'd be pulling for you.
01:10:21 But the last thing I would do at seven Oh five is fire off a, all right, big cat, this
01:10:27 was awesome.
01:10:28 And here's why.
01:10:29 Cause you don't care.
01:10:30 You don't want to hear it.
01:10:31 And you're just one of a million other texts from people that mean, well, they're being
01:10:35 sincere.
01:10:36 And like, to me it's, it's like a, it's like a 24 hour rule kind of thing.
01:10:41 And at some point you just, you know, I shot him a note last night, just like you're, Whoa,
01:10:45 sorry.
01:10:46 Like you're playing, you're playing awesome.
01:10:48 You just have to believe the putts are going to go in.
01:10:49 Well, not enough did, but so what?
01:10:51 Like he still played awesome, but I'll, I'll wait.
01:10:54 And you know, you just give it time before you bug them because the last thing you want
01:10:58 that to be is like, like, Hey, not today.
01:11:01 You know, not right now.
01:11:02 I'm really not in the mood for your atta boy.
01:11:04 Yeah.
01:11:05 It's a two week thing.
01:11:06 Two weeks is usually for, for professional sports for professionals.
01:11:11 Yeah.
01:11:12 For professional athletes.
01:11:13 Cause I'm just like professional athletes are like, like when Josh Allen has had some
01:11:17 heartbreaking loss, I'll be like, let's give it a little bit of time because like, you
01:11:21 know, they want to go through the whole course.
01:11:23 I feel like he'll be back to normal in a couple of weeks.
01:11:26 Well, do you think Max is listening to the show right now?
01:11:29 I don't think I would listen to the podcast after the masters.
01:11:32 If I was, okay.
01:11:33 If Max is listening to this show, let's just all say we're so proud of him and he's going
01:11:36 to win one.
01:11:37 Max, I'm really proud of you.
01:11:38 You're right there.
01:11:39 Yeah.
01:11:40 And that Rosebush was fucked up.
01:11:42 They should not have put that Rosebush there.
01:11:43 Yeah.
01:11:44 And also you probably should have hit it out of there, but that's, listen, I'm not your
01:11:47 caddy.
01:11:48 I'm not Joe.
01:11:49 Also, I would've hit it out of there.
01:11:50 I saw where it went in on TV.
01:11:51 I was yelling at Joe.
01:11:52 I was like, no, it's right there.
01:11:53 You're looking in the wrong place.
01:11:54 Could he have hit it out of there?
01:11:56 He could have, right?
01:11:58 If he wanted to.
01:11:59 I mean, sure.
01:12:00 I mean, sure, but the, the, the number of things that go right, if you try to hit it
01:12:04 out of there versus the number of things, it's like life's a risk reward thing.
01:12:07 Yeah.
01:12:08 I risk it all.
01:12:09 The risk is rather lengthy.
01:12:10 The reward is really small there.
01:12:12 So I mean, he did what he had to do.
01:12:14 He just had to, you had to avoid double.
01:12:16 And once you make double there, now you're like, all right, I have to make, I have to
01:12:19 make Eagle on 13 and probably something else.
01:12:22 So yeah, he did end up, uh, yeah, it was, he ended up making like a million dollars
01:12:26 at the end of the tournament.
01:12:27 If he had done our idea that probably would have dropped him down to like 700,000.
01:12:30 Yeah, it was good job.
01:12:32 What do you make of note gate?
01:12:34 Where are we at with note gate?
01:12:35 Cause I saw, uh, there was the buzz that tiger might've passed a note to Neil Shipley.
01:12:41 And uh, I love this.
01:12:42 This is just very masters.
01:12:43 Augusta, there's rules and they follow the rules.
01:12:46 But what, what was there a note passed?
01:12:48 Man, I have no idea.
01:12:50 I just, I, I like, I haven't, I don't know.
01:12:54 I, we'll get to the bottom of this, but we'll get, we'll get to the bottom of this.
01:12:57 But like, well, let's have like, let's, let's just go through this.
01:13:00 Like it's like it's CSI P a part of my take, like what would have been on it?
01:13:06 What, what would have been bad about it?
01:13:10 What, what, who's in trouble?
01:13:12 Yeah, well, we had, we had a guess of what would be on it.
01:13:15 We're going to spare you our guesses cause you're friends with tiger.
01:13:18 Um, it could have been, what if he had said like, use, you know, use a seven here instead
01:13:24 of an eight.
01:13:26 I guess that would be, but it also is probably a really good moment.
01:13:29 Yeah.
01:13:30 Not supposed to do that in golf, but like, why wouldn't you just say it?
01:13:32 Or you have your caddy hold up, like hold up five.
01:13:35 Like there's ways that we like the information shared, but like, I mean, is it, what did
01:13:41 we write down?
01:13:42 Like a silly joke?
01:13:43 I don't know.
01:13:44 Who knows?
01:13:45 I, I, I, me, honestly, I don't.
01:13:48 Yeah.
01:13:49 Yeah.
01:13:50 I don't really care.
01:13:51 It'd be funny though.
01:13:52 If it said like last time I took a tampon out of my bag and then threw it on the ground,
01:13:54 I got in trouble.
01:13:55 So this note is me pretending like I'm taking a tampon out.
01:13:59 Same thing.
01:14:00 Masters probably were not going that route.
01:14:02 Yeah.
01:14:03 Don't execute you for doing that.
01:14:04 Yeah.
01:14:05 What about, uh, another one I was curious about Bryson, his 3d printed, uh, clubs.
01:14:11 How, how does that get approved?
01:14:13 And it, were they just like, we've never seen this before, so I guess, yeah, you're approved.
01:14:18 I think he's like a, he's like straight from NASA.
01:14:21 The whole thing, like the clubs, the law, the whole shebang, like he, but I gotta say
01:14:25 something about that guy.
01:14:27 Like he went through that thing where he was like, Hey, I drink lots of milkshakes and
01:14:32 I, I, I'm, I look like if you pop me with a pin, I would fly around like a balloon.
01:14:37 Cause I'm super swole and I'm doing all these curls videos in my garage with dudes.
01:14:42 And like it, that reached a point where I think everyone was like, Hey, I'm all set
01:14:47 with this.
01:14:48 And he's now, he looks phenomenal.
01:14:50 He's in great shape.
01:14:51 I think that there, he sat in the, uh, in the media center years ago and said, you know,
01:14:56 par for me around here, 67 and the masters folks were like, really, you don't say, and
01:15:02 then he didn't play well.
01:15:03 And I don't think anybody around here was particularly sad that that's the case.
01:15:07 But he came back, it felt like he, there was a humility to the guy.
01:15:10 I enjoyed the time that I, that he spent.
01:15:12 He came in a couple of days in the public cabin.
01:15:15 He grinded his butt off, played really well.
01:15:18 But if you're asking me like what the numbers are for the putting and what goes on with
01:15:22 his clubs and the loft and the three, I don't have a fucking clue and I don't think anybody
01:15:26 else does either.
01:15:28 And I think that's part of it.
01:15:29 Like everyone would just look around and be like, like, are these conforming?
01:15:32 I have no idea.
01:15:34 Yeah.
01:15:35 I just, no one knows.
01:15:36 We, we, we've since Brooks squashes beef, we squashed our beef.
01:15:39 I like Bryson is he's good for golf.
01:15:41 He's an interesting guy.
01:15:42 Like there's enough people out there that don't want to be interesting people when they're
01:15:45 playing sports.
01:15:46 And like the people who are interesting and do things differently, we should embrace.
01:15:51 And he looked like he was actually having fun today.
01:15:53 Yeah.
01:15:54 And I mean when he holed out like Saturday, it's like awesome.
01:15:58 Go get them.
01:15:59 And I mean he was, he was in the mix and he's a, look, he's an awesome player.
01:16:02 His ceiling's really high.
01:16:03 And I think this week I was on pardon the interruption and it was, they asked me about
01:16:09 live or maybe it was levitator.
01:16:10 I don't know.
01:16:11 I just said, no one gives a shit about this live stuff at this point.
01:16:13 It feels like golf just needs to get back together.
01:16:16 But it's kind of complicated because like the PGA tour said, Hey, you can't take the
01:16:20 money.
01:16:21 A bunch of dudes did.
01:16:22 And then they're like, yeah, well let's get back together.
01:16:23 Like what's easy for you to say you've got a hundred million.
01:16:27 I think everyone kind of just understands that it's better when everyone plays.
01:16:31 It's fun to see Rob and Brooks and Bryson and Cam Smith and Neiman and I, all the other
01:16:37 dudes.
01:16:38 Like it's, you want to see them all play together because that means the best in the world are
01:16:41 together and Bryson's one of those people.
01:16:43 So I mean this week I think the ratings were high for what's the masters.
01:16:48 That's the reason.
01:16:49 But it's also just a reminder that people like to shambo, a personality guy and a talent.
01:16:55 They help make the game more interesting.
01:16:57 Like I don't, I don't imagine you all have talked any golf at all this year to this point
01:17:01 or if you did, it wasn't much.
01:17:02 Yeah.
01:17:03 Well Hank makes us talk about golf a lot.
01:17:04 Yeah.
01:17:05 Plays a ton of it.
01:17:06 Hank's mad because the reporter from Wisconsin who's never played around a golf won the lottery.
01:17:11 So she's going to play Augusta tomorrow.
01:17:13 Hank, you want me to get you out here?
01:17:15 You want me to see if I can get something out?
01:17:17 How many times have you played?
01:17:19 Here?
01:17:20 Yeah.
01:17:21 Some, you know, I don't know.
01:17:22 It's, it's, it's actually not a lot.
01:17:24 I, you know, the funny thing I told someone this story today, I, there was a member that
01:17:27 asked me and I couldn't because of work and then asked me again and it couldn't because
01:17:32 of work.
01:17:33 And he's like, you know, I've never had to ask anybody more than once.
01:17:37 I host a show and it's just me and if I'm not there, then I mean, it's not like I can
01:17:42 get someone to cover my shift, you know, I'm sorry.
01:17:45 It sucks so bad having to say I can't, I couldn't do it.
01:17:49 I'm just, I'm hoping to get back again at some point.
01:17:52 But yeah, I mean, you know, the, the P I know a couple of people that won the lottery.
01:17:56 I don't know.
01:17:57 I didn't, I didn't hear the story about the Wisconsin person that's never played, but
01:17:59 this ain't the, this is not the place you want to, you know, play for the first time.
01:18:03 Yeah.
01:18:04 What did you shoot?
01:18:05 What was your best shot at the Fiesta?
01:18:07 I broke 100 but I, it was like, it started with a nine.
01:18:11 I was very sad about that because I put it well, but I hit it awful and I was a complete
01:18:15 tourist.
01:18:16 I was like, all I did was walk around and take pictures the whole time.
01:18:19 If I did it again now I would be, I would have a way different approach.
01:18:23 But it was, I was super touristy the whole time.
01:18:26 I look back on it now and I mean, whatever.
01:18:29 I think I probably had like quadruple pleated pants and like a bad part in my hair.
01:18:33 So there's a lot about that day.
01:18:35 I'd like to redo.
01:18:36 Hopefully I'll get another crack at it.
01:18:37 Yeah.
01:18:38 Yeah.
01:18:39 Yeah.
01:18:40 Let us know.
01:18:41 Hank will definitely play with you by the way.
01:18:42 Yeah.
01:18:43 He would, he would actually, it's the opposite of you.
01:18:44 He would quit.
01:18:45 He would quit Barstool as a whole for one round.
01:18:46 For one round.
01:18:47 Yeah.
01:18:48 So very easy.
01:18:49 But there was another,
01:18:50 Don't throw it all away Hank.
01:18:51 It's just a good, you got a good thing cooking man.
01:18:52 Another big reason people tuned in to see Vern for the last time.
01:18:55 Yeah.
01:18:56 It's not going to feel the same without Vern.
01:18:58 I assume that you've gotten to know him over the years.
01:19:00 Can you just tell us what he's like behind the scenes?
01:19:05 And he's like, there are certain people I think that you, whatever you think, imagine
01:19:12 Vern Lundquist would be like, like, I think we all can be cynical, right?
01:19:16 I mean, all of us and we can kind of roll our eyes and stuff.
01:19:19 And then there's certain people you meet and you're like, that's Vern Lundquist.
01:19:22 And there's a reverence because he's been this, this soundtrack of so many incredible
01:19:27 moments and he's really great.
01:19:29 And he's been incredibly nice to me.
01:19:32 And so the other day on our broadcast, the producer from CBS, his name is Seller Shy.
01:19:37 He's like, do you want to, you want to say something to Vern?
01:19:39 Like, you want to do something here on Vern?
01:19:40 I'm like, man, that'd be awesome.
01:19:42 And so I didn't have anything written down, but I just said that, you know, the moments
01:19:45 here don't need anything, you know, the moments that the masters stand on their own, but an
01:19:50 iconic call can make these moments forever moments.
01:19:56 And Vern has made like made moments completely elevated to a different level.
01:20:02 Like yes, sir, with Jack and in your life, if you ever seen anything like that with Tiger,
01:20:07 you don't just remember what they look like.
01:20:08 You remember what they sounded like because of Vern.
01:20:11 And I went on and on about how great it was for us at ESPN to be able to share part of
01:20:16 the weekend and show our respect and appreciation because we're just, you know, we're talking
01:20:20 for all the people out there.
01:20:21 And he came up to me the other day and it was like, he was choked up about how he could
01:20:26 never thank me adequately for what I said.
01:20:29 And I'm thinking to myself, this is, there's surreal moments in your life.
01:20:33 And here's Vern Lundquist thanking me for thanking him.
01:20:37 And it was like all I could do not to like, I wanted to pick him up and hug him.
01:20:40 Yeah.
01:20:41 I didn't want it to get weird for Vern.
01:20:43 So I just told him how sincere I meant what I said.
01:20:46 And it's been a treat to get to know him because he's such a gentleman and he's a legend in
01:20:51 broadcasting and like, look, we've all gotten to know each other.
01:20:55 Right.
01:20:56 And I think you guys understand that.
01:20:58 I appreciate all this, but there's certain times that you just can't even believe that
01:21:02 it's what you get to do.
01:21:03 Yeah.
01:21:04 Like you're, you cross paths with that guy at this event and on Thursday and Friday,
01:21:09 like you're calling the golf and he's on the call with you and you're like, how did any
01:21:15 of this happen?
01:21:16 So it was really, really something I'll never forget when he was so appreciative of me just
01:21:22 saying thanks, which is what everyone would do if they had that chance.
01:21:26 You know what I mean?
01:21:27 It's so, it's such a great point too, when it comes to sports and like the announcers
01:21:31 that just live in your head.
01:21:33 Like I always just think of college football and Keith Jackson.
01:21:36 Like it's always, it will just forever be ingrained in my brain and you know, Brent
01:21:39 and all these guys, but yeah, Vern, those moments, especially the tiger moment.
01:21:44 Like that's yeah, that's the first thing you think of is just repeating what he says as
01:21:48 tiger's ball rolls in.
01:21:50 I got one more master's question then I got another question then we'll let you go.
01:21:53 Cause I know you, you, you got a flight to catch.
01:21:56 We were talking about this, the green jacket ceremony.
01:21:59 Awesome.
01:22:00 Very unique to sports in the fact that you have the champion from last year putting on
01:22:05 the jacket for the champion this year.
01:22:08 Like could you ever imagine Tom Brady handing over a super bowl trophy to, you know, Patrick
01:22:13 Holmes, he wins it the next year.
01:22:16 Have you ever talked to anyone about that and being like, does that fuel?
01:22:20 Cause like I, John Rahm does, you can't look comfortable in that moment to be like, I'm
01:22:24 here, I'm competing and now I got to put the green jacket on you and I wanted to win this
01:22:29 thing this year.
01:22:30 I actually was really lucky to be able to talk to Arnold Palmer about it like a long
01:22:34 time ago because there was this series of time when, and I mean it predates me mostly,
01:22:40 but I mean it was Palmer and player and Nicholas, the big three.
01:22:43 And there was like this, there's a stretch and I'll get it wrong, but it was like Gary
01:22:46 put it on Jack, Jack put it on Arnold, Arnold put it on Gary.
01:22:50 Like it just, it traded hands among that trio.
01:22:53 And I mean, I mean in so many words, Arnold was like, well of course there's just enormous
01:22:58 respect, but there's just nothing that would make you, your, your competitive fire burn
01:23:04 brighter than the idea that I got to put this thing on this guy that I wanted to beat.
01:23:09 Like I, and then, and he, and he beat my ass and now I have to give him this.
01:23:13 I still have mine, but like you're the one that gets this now.
01:23:17 I think that there is something that is, uh, it's, it's, it's like a sacred part of the
01:23:23 week and it just shows the reverence and the respect that the champions have for each other.
01:23:27 But hell yeah, if you got it, like you think Ron wants to put it on Scotty?
01:23:31 Like those guys were going back and forth all year last year.
01:23:34 Right.
01:23:35 And now, you know, look, Ron got all the dough and he didn't have his best.
01:23:40 I saw him on Saturday and he's, I said, you know, you battle your ass off yesterday.
01:23:44 He said it was not a good day to not have your best stuff, but I gave him credit as
01:23:48 a champ.
01:23:49 He wanted to be here playing the weekend.
01:23:50 He didn't want to have to stick around and not be able to go home and have to wait until
01:23:53 Sunday right to put the jacket on.
01:23:55 But you're absolutely right that there's, that it's, it's a revered part of the traditions
01:24:01 and there's a long list of them, but it absolutely is the kind of thing that, that stokes the
01:24:06 fire among these most competitive guys.
01:24:08 And wouldn't surprise anybody if Ron wanted again next year.
01:24:11 But yeah, there's so many things I love about, uh, about this week and, um, I think one of
01:24:16 them we, we probably have to do here.
01:24:18 Yeah.
01:24:19 That was my, that was my light.
01:24:20 Wait, if, if Scotty, cause I don't even remember when Tiger went back to back, what happens
01:24:24 if Scotty wins next year?
01:24:25 Does he just put it on himself?
01:24:26 No, he gets, uh, he gets to go streaking.
01:24:29 That's the rule.
01:24:30 Run around, um, no, I like the chairman, the chairman that would put the, uh, put the jacket
01:24:38 on him.
01:24:39 And, um, it's, it's, to me, it's more fun when it's, when, when, especially when it's
01:24:43 great champions like it was today, which is that pretty much every year.
01:24:47 It's it's, if you're a master's champion, it's, it's obviously great.
01:24:50 But when you're talking about really high rank players, like that, those moments are,
01:24:54 um, are more memorable, I think.
01:24:56 So I agree with the chef for next year.
01:24:59 He's out of his mind.
01:25:00 Yeah.
01:25:01 All right.
01:25:02 So rowback question, rhoback.com, promo code, take cues, his polos, hoodies, joggers, shorts,
01:25:07 everything.
01:25:08 I'm wearing the joggers right now.
01:25:09 I wear them all weekend long, uh, all week long to rowback.com promo code, take the best
01:25:14 clothes out there.
01:25:15 Perfect golf polos as well as golf season.
01:25:18 Go to rowback.com, put in promo code take.
01:25:20 So Scott, what are we working with this year?
01:25:22 All right.
01:25:23 That was a little, the vending machine.
01:25:25 All right, hold on.
01:25:26 I got to turn, got to turn my, got to turn my camera.
01:25:29 Wait, can you, this is, can the old guy figure it out?
01:25:34 Nope.
01:25:35 Nobody knows.
01:25:36 How do I turn it around?
01:25:37 Oh no.
01:25:38 You're going to have to just do it the manual way.
01:25:40 I am.
01:25:41 That's here.
01:25:42 Hold on.
01:25:43 Let me turn it around sideways and then let's just turn it around this way.
01:25:45 So let's see what's in the vending machine.
01:25:47 We have the big Texan.
01:25:49 We got cheeses, Fritos.
01:25:51 Those look like, oh, chili cheese Fritos are one, one.
01:25:54 Oh no.
01:25:55 Cool.
01:25:56 Ranch Doritos.
01:25:57 We got cheese fix munchies.
01:25:58 Okay.
01:25:59 And then there's the Mrs. Freshly's again.
01:26:00 Guys, I have terrible news.
01:26:01 No big Texas.
01:26:02 I think that, are you going to be able to survive the flight back without the cinnamon
01:26:06 roll?
01:26:07 Pull out to reveal guys.
01:26:08 Can we see everything?
01:26:09 Yeah, we can see everything.
01:26:11 I think you got to go chili cheese Fritos and uh, I would go, I would go chili cheese
01:26:16 Fritos, maybe cool ranch Doritos and then the Miss Freshly's.
01:26:21 I'm just wandering around the, uh, the, uh, FBO here now.
01:26:25 Now I'm just going to sit on this leather couch in this bright light and just say, what
01:26:28 a sad thing it is that there's no big Texas.
01:26:30 This is a, we're going to speak, we're going to have to speak to the folks here.
01:26:34 There's, I did run into my, the youngster that gave me the, uh, the gross, a big Texas
01:26:40 last year at the PGA.
01:26:42 And he's like, literally, I think he's like a big Texas drug dealer.
01:26:47 Like I think he just has them because he was, I swear to God, he was going to meet me with
01:26:52 like a case of them.
01:26:53 And I was like, I'll be honest with you.
01:26:54 I'm all good.
01:26:55 He was ready to, to, to deliver the goods.
01:27:01 I think, um, I think I'm going to get the chili cheese Fritos.
01:27:04 Okay.
01:27:05 Although big Texas, that would be a great nickname for Scotty.
01:27:08 Yeah.
01:27:09 He's big Texas.
01:27:10 He's a big Texas.
01:27:11 Yeah.
01:27:12 That's it.
01:27:13 How poetic is that?
01:27:14 I know, I know, I know his guy.
01:27:17 I know his guy, Blake.
01:27:18 I'll get on the, I'll get a shoot a note directly to him and say, we've got PFT says the, let's
01:27:24 get the big Texas thing sorted out and, um, great, great opportunity to make some dough
01:27:30 there.
01:27:31 Scotty's guy is Blake.
01:27:32 Scotty's guy is Blake.
01:27:34 Lake of the year.
01:27:35 Damn.
01:27:36 That's he's got it all.
01:27:37 He's got a Blake.
01:27:38 Yeah.
01:27:39 That's got it.
01:27:40 He's got it figured out.
01:27:41 Is that couch, the casting couch?
01:27:42 Yeah.
01:27:43 I'll say it again.
01:27:44 Is it, is that couch, the cat, the casting couch couch?
01:27:47 Whoa, no, no.
01:27:49 I think the pilots come in here and hang out.
01:27:53 They're probably going to kick me out of here.
01:27:56 Last question, Scott, um, as someone who loves to take the points, uh, March madness, not
01:28:03 so great.
01:28:04 I mean, I, I needed to do, I needed to do how about Portnoy?
01:28:08 Yeah.
01:28:09 He's a sharp now.
01:28:10 It, the fact that he also gets to say he was, he had a tweet when, uh, more cows was on
01:28:17 18 and he was like big battle for third place money, AKA Portnoy money.
01:28:23 Is that he won more, I think than the third place guy at the masters this week.
01:28:27 Well, let me just tell you as a guy that likes to take points, like you got Yukon is one
01:28:32 12 straight five by they've covered them all and they've been laying points in all of them
01:28:37 for, for a guy who's like, take the plus sign.
01:28:40 You end up with a big minus sign.
01:28:42 It's been, I've been on the struggle bus pretty mightily.
01:28:45 Uh, I just, I'm just going to tell you important because you, uh, you guys are apparently printing
01:28:50 dough.
01:28:51 Yeah.
01:28:52 I'm like, you know, you, you start Scott FaceTimes me like two minutes before the tip off of
01:28:55 the first game every year in March madness is like, there's nothing better than this.
01:28:58 And then I think it was a record this year.
01:29:01 I think it was three hours that you texted me back.
01:29:03 You're like, there's nothing worse than this.
01:29:05 This is terrible.
01:29:06 Literally I FaceTimed you.
01:29:07 It was like 11 53.
01:29:08 It was the most, and that was like, like, am I lying?
01:29:12 Big cow.
01:29:13 I mean, there was the joy in both of our, like it was sincere joy.
01:29:18 And there was by the, like by the two 50 window, I'm like, it's all, it was all the lies.
01:29:22 It was all the lie.
01:29:24 And then, but you want, what are you talking about?
01:29:26 I know you can, I know you can future.
01:29:28 I know the Yukon, the Yukon tournament.
01:29:31 I know.
01:29:32 I know.
01:29:33 Well, Yukon winning it all made it a bad tournament for me.
01:29:35 Oh, so you know what?
01:29:37 I love, I had a total, I've had a total one 80 on Hurley.
01:29:40 I thought he was a complete, I thought he was a lunatic and he kind of is, but I love,
01:29:45 I love him.
01:29:46 He's the best.
01:29:47 He's the best.
01:29:48 I mean, college basketball needs those type of guys.
01:29:50 Like that's what college basketball was for so long.
01:29:53 The Bayhimes, the K, like these guys that are crazy and yelling at people.
01:29:58 Hurley is the new, he's old school.
01:30:00 Like we need someone to, to, to carry the torch.
01:30:03 But if you think about it honestly, like his dad was a legend, his brother's Bobby Hurley.
01:30:08 And he's like this guy that's kind of a hothead, Stephen Hall or whatever.
01:30:11 And you're like, ah, you had that other guy.
01:30:13 Well, I mean, that's a lot to fight uphill on.
01:30:15 Right.
01:30:16 And he was honest.
01:30:17 He came on the show and talked about imposter syndrome and all this stuff.
01:30:20 And now it's like, now, I mean, I don't, we've totally, we've lost the plot here.
01:30:25 I'm sorry.
01:30:26 I've talked about that.
01:30:27 You're right.
01:30:28 I really, I don't know.
01:30:29 It's been a fun few weeks in sports and I'm hope, I'm happy my house isn't on fire this
01:30:34 year and I'm, you know, I'll come on again.
01:30:38 You only ask once a year, but yeah, no, you're coming on again.
01:30:40 Yeah.
01:30:41 We'll do it this summer.
01:30:42 And, and, and by the way, your boys, Steve, he had a great show on at wing night.
01:30:45 We do it every final four.
01:30:47 So you can rest assured that he, he, he showed up, he showed up, showed up big time, put
01:30:52 down a bunch of wings.
01:30:53 Titus did not have a great show.
01:30:54 Titus got beat by the way.
01:30:56 Titus got put on the three day DL.
01:30:58 His tummy hurt.
01:30:59 His tummy hurt real bad.
01:31:00 Real bad.
01:31:01 Real bad.
01:31:02 He said on Friday night, he was like, I, I, I beat the wings cause we all went out.
01:31:07 And then on Saturday we, he looked like a ghost.
01:31:10 He was sitting on the toilet all day.
01:31:11 Wait, can I ask one class?
01:31:13 One question on the way out.
01:31:14 I need PFT to weigh in on something.
01:31:16 If you, if you have a dinner and you have a credit card roulette, but one person leaves
01:31:21 before like how, what should happen for that?
01:31:24 Like what should be, how, just how should that be handled among the group?
01:31:28 That's a good question.
01:31:29 I think, I think their name should go in the hat.
01:31:32 What if the person, and then somebody there covers it and then they have to Venmo you
01:31:36 back.
01:31:37 Yeah.
01:31:38 What if also you forgot to mention that the credit card roulette was not said before that
01:31:42 person.
01:31:43 Is this a personal thing?
01:31:44 Yeah.
01:31:45 I want to know that that they didn't bail on the credit card roulette.
01:31:48 They didn't know it was going to be credit card roulette.
01:31:50 So that's fair.
01:31:51 You didn't, you, but I just in general, I love credit card roulette.
01:31:55 I mean me of all people, like you know that I love that.
01:31:59 Like, you know, all or nothing after dinner, there's nothing better than that.
01:32:04 So I, I, I would love that.
01:32:06 You missed out on, you missed out on credit card roulette and missed out on PFT handing
01:32:10 out, made mistakes right under the eye in the sky.
01:32:16 My kids won't remember any of this shit.
01:32:17 They won't remember the time I took a red eye back from Vegas to get there early.
01:32:21 That's a good point.
01:32:22 There's guys like there's, that's probably the most surveilled place in America.
01:32:24 Oh yeah.
01:32:25 Where, where I did that.
01:32:27 You know, I think you're probably not the only dude that did.
01:32:30 And I think it, you know what, the catch all is always, it's fine.
01:32:35 Everything's fine.
01:32:36 Everything's okay.
01:32:37 You're fine.
01:32:38 Yeah.
01:32:39 I think there's a certain image to, to uphold that involves not using drugs.
01:32:43 I think we just assume that's part and parcel of the whole thing here.
01:32:46 If any, yeah.
01:32:47 If anything, it would've been good for my brand to get arrested.
01:32:49 It's the beauty of, it's the beauty of working for Barstool.
01:32:52 I always tell this story when people are like, Oh, what's life's like?
01:32:55 Well, uh, maybe it was like 11 years ago.
01:32:57 Trent, who's a good friend of ours, golfer for play pod.
01:33:01 Uh, he got a public intoxication ticket, so he just didn't show up for work on a Friday.
01:33:07 Steve was just mad that he didn't blog his mugshot right when he got out of jail.
01:33:11 That was why he got in trouble.
01:33:12 He's like, why the fuck didn't you block it?
01:33:15 Right.
01:33:16 If any, if any place is going to, is that, is going to like benefit from the book from
01:33:20 the mugshot.
01:33:21 I think doesn't still have his mugshot as his, as his, uh, I think he changed it.
01:33:26 It was a good mugshot.
01:33:27 Yeah.
01:33:28 It was, I listened.
01:33:29 St. Louis.
01:33:30 Yeah.
01:33:31 St. Lunatics came on.
01:33:32 It wasn't his fault.
01:33:33 It's just like Rumpelman.
01:33:34 Yeah.
01:33:35 Rumpelman.
01:33:36 Rumpelman.
01:33:37 Rumpelman.
01:33:38 Rumpelman, St. Lunatics.
01:33:39 All right.
01:33:40 Well, Scott, thank you.
01:33:41 As always, wait, we got to get you out to Chicago too.
01:33:42 You got to come to do the simulator.
01:33:43 We've been talking, Steve's been talking about it.
01:33:45 Yeah.
01:33:46 For a Cubs game and we'll do the whole thing.
01:33:48 I'd love that.
01:33:49 And I'm psyched you boys are out there and it's always great to be all with you.
01:33:52 Yeah.

01:35:55 they deserve with a low man award.

01:36:02 They've been with us for a long time.

01:36:30 Okay, let's wrap up the show with little NBA talk.
01:36:33 We'll have our guy, we're still on.
01:36:35 I think we're having JJ Redick on soon too.
01:36:37 Talking more detail NBA playoffs, but we have it set.
01:36:42 The Celtics are the one seed.
01:36:43 They've been the one seed for like a month.
01:36:46 The Thunder are the one seed in the West, the upstart young Thunder who are very, very
01:36:51 good.
01:36:52 And then we have some play in action with the LeBron's got to play in.
01:36:56 Steph's got to play in.
01:36:58 The Bulls got to play in.
01:36:59 The Sixers got to play in against the Heat.
01:37:02 So I don't know where you guys want to go.
01:37:03 Do we want to say predictions that are probably stupid and will look dumb?
01:37:07 Yeah, I got one.
01:37:08 Okay.
01:37:09 I like the magic in the first round.
01:37:11 Oh, a little small upset there over the Cavs.
01:37:14 The Cavs are better at home, so it's good that they got their home court.
01:37:17 Yeah.
01:37:18 But yeah.
01:37:19 And also we had home court.
01:37:20 We had, we had seating drama on Sunday.
01:37:23 The Knicks and Tibbs got clinched a second seed.
01:37:27 The Bucks, maybe we're just trying not to get the second seed because the second seed
01:37:32 in the East feels like dangerous having to play maybe the, or you'll have to play the
01:37:37 Sixers or the Heat, which is a pretty good team in both of them.
01:37:41 But also Tibbs will never not play all his starters and play game 82 like it's game seven
01:37:47 of the NBA finals.
01:37:48 That's what Tibbs does.
01:37:50 I like the Sixers to beat the Heat.
01:37:52 I also like the Sixers to beat the Knicks.
01:37:55 And then I like the Sixers to beat the Bucks.
01:37:56 I do actually like that the Knicks like tried because I think that you should have some
01:38:01 pride and be like, we're not ducking anyone.
01:38:03 We're going to try to, you know, we've had a great season.
01:38:06 Let's get home court.
01:38:07 If we can win this round, we get home court second round, which does matter for the Knicks.
01:38:12 It would be cool though if teams could pick who they play.
01:38:15 Yeah.
01:38:16 Cause you would not want to play against the Sixers.
01:38:18 Right.
01:38:19 So if you did a draft, like the, the NBA loves ratings and doing new things, two new things
01:38:25 the NBA should do.
01:38:26 They should do a draft of the top four seeds get to pick who they get to play in the first
01:38:30 round.
01:38:31 And also there should just be an automatic.
01:38:33 Wemby makes the playoffs clause.
01:38:34 Yeah.
01:38:35 He gets added to his, what team would Wemby?
01:38:37 I want to see him so bad in the playoffs.
01:38:39 He's so, he's such a fucking freak and it's insane.
01:38:42 Him.
01:38:43 Did you see that game on Friday night when he was just splashing threes and just, he's
01:38:46 an alien and his logo is awesome.
01:38:48 And he should have been, he should be in the playoffs.
01:38:50 We should just make a Wemby gets to be in the playoffs clause in the NBA bylaws.
01:38:55 I agree.
01:38:56 So, um, in the East, I think it's the Celtics.
01:38:58 Congrats Hank.
01:38:59 Hank, how are you feeling?
01:39:00 I'm excited.
01:39:01 I'm very excited.
01:39:02 Very, very excited.
01:39:04 Championship or bust.
01:39:05 Yeah.
01:39:06 Championship or bust and the East you're going to walk through cause Giannis is hurt.
01:39:10 The Knicks are great season, but I think the cells are a better team Sixers.
01:39:16 You never have to worry about them.
01:39:17 The heat.
01:39:18 No, no.
01:39:19 I mean, I like, I would like to beat the heat just for, you know, the storyline sake, but
01:39:24 I'm not concerned about them.
01:39:26 I think we would, would roll.
01:39:27 So there's no one that, that worries.
01:39:29 I don't even want to waste time with the fucking bulls or 76ers.
01:39:32 Like I hope that the plans work out where we don't have to play when you guys, just
01:39:35 cause like, it's just going to be a pointless, wait, you hold on back up.
01:39:41 The 76ers and bulls are not exactly on the same level in this in terms of, in terms of
01:39:45 not opponents of the Celtics, but the bulls are not good.
01:39:48 Neither are the Sixers.
01:39:49 The 76ers are 76.
01:39:52 The Sixers are in this spot because Joel and bead missed two months.
01:39:55 The bulls are in this spot because they're not a very good team.
01:39:59 Better winning percentage than the Celtics when and beat and maxi both play.
01:40:02 Whoa.
01:40:03 Oh, is that true?
01:40:04 What was that?
01:40:05 Like five games?
01:40:07 Yep.
01:40:08 Is it?
01:40:09 No, it's like 32 games.
01:40:10 Oh, that's yeah.
01:40:11 No, the Sixers, I mean it's an 82 game.
01:40:12 The guys are fucking, so you just lumped the bulls and the Sixers in the same spot.
01:40:16 I'm going to say no, that's not true.
01:40:18 I'm just saying in terms of the show and you guys doing the whole like, Ooh, what if the
01:40:21 bulls are not going to lose the Sixers?
01:40:24 The bulls aren't going to win anything.
01:40:26 Either will this.
01:40:27 I like I'd be if the bulls win the plan.
01:40:30 Great.
01:40:31 But I also hate Jerry Rhinestore so much.
01:40:33 I don't want him to pretend that they made the playoffs.
01:40:36 The Sixers are a problem.
01:40:37 I'm just going to say it.
01:40:38 I agree with max for max.
01:40:40 No, the Sixers are a problem for you.
01:40:43 I think, would that not be the worst?
01:40:45 I think the Sixers could beat the Knicks and I think they could beat the Bucks because
01:40:49 Doc Rivers is pulling a major Doc Rivers right now.
01:40:52 We might not have ever seen a Doc Rivers perform at such a high Doc Rivers level as he's done
01:40:56 this year.
01:40:57 The Bucks are not a good team right now.
01:40:59 The Sixers are really good.
01:41:02 Yeah.
01:41:03 And Yanis.
01:41:04 How, how late would you sleep in if the Sixers beat the Celtics?
01:41:07 The entire summer.
01:41:08 Eight one two.
01:41:09 So you don't want this?
01:41:10 I think you see what I'm saying when you said we don't want to do the thing with the Bulls
01:41:16 and Sixers.
01:41:17 I think one's a little different than the other.
01:41:21 I guess, but it would just be a, you would not want, give me the finals.
01:41:24 This is, this is, this is championship contending teams.
01:41:27 First round, just second round dominate, get to Eastern Conference finals, finals.
01:41:32 As the one seed, you do not want to see the Sixers as the, like at all.
01:41:38 I guess.
01:41:39 I don't, yeah, I don't think it really matters, but.
01:41:40 But it, like the Sixers are for sure, for sure better than the Bulls.
01:41:46 Like you would win in four against the, against the Bulls without even having to play your
01:41:50 guys.
01:41:51 I think we'd win four against you guys?
01:41:52 No way.
01:41:53 It sounds like a sweet bet to me.
01:41:55 Wow.
01:41:56 So, Sixers need to beat the Heat.
01:41:59 Explain it again because I forget every single year how the seven, eight, nine, ten playing
01:42:03 system works.
01:42:04 So how would the Sixers end up being able to be the eight seed?
01:42:07 If they lose to the Heat on Wednesday night and then they beat the Hawks or the Bulls.
01:42:13 Okay.
01:42:14 So the, the Bulls and the Hawks, and then on the other side, the Kings and the Warriors
01:42:19 cannot get higher than the eighth seed.
01:42:21 Right.
01:42:22 The Bulls can't get to the seventh seed.
01:42:23 The Warriors can't get to the seventh seed.
01:42:25 It's the winner of the, of the, the six or seven, eight becomes a seven seed.
01:42:30 And then they have to play the winner of the nine, 10 and that's the side, the eighth seat.
01:42:35 Right.
01:42:36 So, okay.
01:42:37 So you're rooting for the Heat to beat the Sixers and then the Sixers to beat the Hawks
01:42:41 or the Bulls.
01:42:42 Correct.
01:42:43 And then they get to eight.
01:42:44 Although I'll be rooting for the Bulls if they play the Sixers.
01:42:46 I will.
01:42:47 Sorry, Max.
01:42:49 Cause that would also be very funny if the Sixers just didn't even make the playoffs.
01:42:52 I honestly wouldn't hate that.
01:42:54 Like that would just be like, all right, fine.
01:42:55 I don't have to.
01:42:56 I thought no one wants to see the Sixers.
01:42:57 Yeah, wait, wait, wait, wait.
01:42:58 And the Sixers don't even want to see the Sixers.
01:43:00 That just flipped.
01:43:01 No, I know that, that won't happen.
01:43:02 You're basically right in the back.
01:43:04 You're essentially right back into the big East tournament.
01:43:07 Kinda.
01:43:08 No, but the Sixers are good.
01:43:10 Like the Sixers are good.
01:43:11 No, it's totally good.
01:43:12 They just have to win two games.
01:43:13 Didn't he just get hurt like two nights ago?
01:43:14 Yeah, but he finished that game.
01:43:17 Okay, the West.
01:43:18 He dropped like 34 in like 20 minutes.
01:43:21 Okay, the West.
01:43:22 The West is more, the West is basically, you could be like, the Thunder are really, really
01:43:27 good, but they're too young.
01:43:28 So I was thinking about this.
01:43:29 They are young, but everyone's saying they're too young.
01:43:32 They might be too young to know how young they are.
01:43:34 But the NBA is kind of the one league where it does feel like you gotta take your lumps.
01:43:41 You know, all the championship teams had their lumps.
01:43:44 They took their lumps, then they climbed back up, got over the mountain.
01:43:48 I'm not saying that.
01:43:49 Yeah, no, I agree though.
01:43:50 I'm not saying that.
01:43:51 It is just the too young, like they're really good.
01:43:52 I'm not saying they get to the finals.
01:43:54 And SGA is awesome.
01:43:56 They can win a couple of series and we're going to have this conversation, I predict,
01:44:00 in like three weeks where it's like, nobody told the Thunder they weren't supposed to
01:44:03 win this series.
01:44:04 Yeah.
01:44:05 You know?
01:44:06 They're not too young now.
01:44:07 Yeah, exactly.
01:44:08 So you're too young until you prove that you're not.
01:44:09 I think, I like the Nuggets a lot.
01:44:12 I think it's theirs to lose.
01:44:14 It seems like we're on a crash course for Celtics.
01:44:17 There's no, you can't defend against the Nuggets when they're playing.
01:44:20 You can't, when Jokic is even having like a B game or like a C plus game, all it takes
01:44:25 is one of the other guys to step up a little bit.
01:44:27 And he's just such a problem to solve, especially if you're trying to defend them.
01:44:31 And when they get going on the pick and roll, like there's no, there's no real way to stop
01:44:34 them.
01:44:35 Yeah.
01:44:36 So I feel like the Nuggets and the Celtics are just kind of both inevitable.
01:44:39 Yeah.
01:44:40 It feels like the entire West is just basically health because the Nuggets have dealt with
01:44:46 injuries.
01:44:47 It's health and the too young Thunder.
01:44:49 Nuggets have dealt with injuries.
01:44:50 Carl Anthony Towns is coming back.
01:44:52 The Clippers are always injured.
01:44:53 I like the Mavs.
01:44:54 The Mavs have been playing great.
01:44:56 The Suns are always injured.
01:44:58 It's just who can stay healthy.
01:44:59 And then LeBron.
01:45:00 And then LeBron.
01:45:01 We, I would like to see LeBron in the playoffs.
01:45:03 Of course.
01:45:04 I would also like to see LeBron not make the playoffs.
01:45:07 That also either way.
01:45:08 Yeah.
01:45:09 Both ways would be funny.
01:45:10 So what do we have for the finals?
01:45:12 Nuggets versus Celtics.
01:45:13 Nuggets Celtics.
01:45:15 Nuggets over Celtics in five.
01:45:16 I'm going to go Celtics over Suns.
01:45:20 Oh, cause you don't want the Nuggets.
01:45:22 Yeah.
01:45:23 You're scared in five.
01:45:24 You're like Embiid.
01:45:25 You're like the Yokich.
01:45:26 What are we going to do about this bet?
01:45:27 I, listening to this show, know I parlayed Scotty Scheffler in the Nuggets to win the
01:45:33 title.
01:45:34 I now have the Nuggets to win the title at 21 to one.
01:45:37 We are going to table this conversation until May 20th, which is the start of the conference
01:45:40 finals.
01:45:41 I'll cash out right now in your face.
01:45:42 Which is the start of the conference finals.
01:45:43 Then we can have a discussion.
01:45:44 I'll cash out right now because I love you so much.
01:45:48 I think that would be dumb to cash out right now because it might not matter.
01:45:50 Okay.
01:45:51 All right.
01:45:52 May 20th.
01:45:53 So you have-
01:45:54 You have Nuggets over, or you have Celtics over Suns.
01:45:58 In how many games?
01:45:59 Five.
01:46:00 You're in fantasy land.
01:46:01 I have Nuggets.
01:46:02 Yeah.
01:46:03 I have Nuggets Mavericks Western Conference Final.
01:46:05 Max Homa, did you hear his quote?
01:46:08 What'd he say?
01:46:09 "When things are going bad, I try not to think about what's going bad.
01:46:13 I try and dream about what could happen."
01:46:15 Oh, you do a lot of dreaming recently.
01:46:16 I am dreaming.
01:46:17 And then is Yokich is Scotty Scheffler?
01:46:20 I'm just dreaming about not having to play the Nuggets and just dominating the Suns in
01:46:26 five.
01:46:27 That's what I'm dreaming about.
01:46:28 Okay.
01:46:29 Yeah.
01:46:30 I mean, with injuries, it could happen.
01:46:31 Anything could happen in the playoffs.
01:46:32 Anything could happen.
01:46:33 That's the beauty of the playoffs.
01:46:34 All right.
01:46:35 So you have Celtics over-
01:46:36 Nuggets over Celtics in five.
01:46:37 Okay.
01:46:38 I have Nuggets over Celtics in seven.
01:46:40 Max?
01:46:41 Sixers over Clippers in six.
01:46:45 Okay.
01:46:46 Nice.
01:46:47 We'll have a full NBA preview when we get the full play-in games.
01:46:52 I'm excited for the play-in games.
01:46:53 I mean, what I think is going to happen in the West, we're going to see Lakers-Warriors
01:46:58 in a play-in game.
01:46:59 Oh, so the Lakers would lose and Warriors would win.
01:47:03 Yeah.
01:47:04 For the ratings.
01:47:05 For the ratings.
01:47:06 Yeah.
01:47:07 The Kings have been sliding back and they're not-
01:47:08 We're not lighting the beam this year.
01:47:09 No, we're not.
01:47:10 They also have this like, they have like a couple of guys and then everyone else is like,
01:47:14 "Ooh, who's that?
01:47:15 Not so great."
01:47:16 Yeah.
01:47:17 Okay.
01:47:18 We're ready for the NBA playoffs.
01:47:19 Hank, championship or bust?
01:47:21 This is Hank's mood for the rest of the summer is going to be reliant on ... Would the mood,
01:47:26 I feel like the mood would be really bad if you guys lost to the Sixers or you lost in
01:47:31 the Eastern Conference Final.
01:47:32 Would the mood be bad if you went to the finals and it was like, "Okay."
01:47:36 Yes.
01:47:37 Bad mood.
01:47:38 We're just on mood watch.
01:47:41 That's why I need to cash out.
01:47:42 That's why I need to cash out.
01:47:43 But here's the thing-
01:47:44 I don't want to ... A mad Hank all summer is not worth it.
01:47:48 But here's the thing.
01:47:49 It's like if the Celtics do win the championship, Hank's-
01:47:52 I will be so mad.
01:47:53 Hank's mood is going to be equally bad just in the opposite direction.
01:47:58 You know, he's going to walk around like he's better than us.
01:48:00 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:48:01 He's going to think he's better than us.
01:48:02 Hank tried to claim today that no one has had as many losses, tortured losses as him
01:48:07 and Max just rattled off like these losses in the last 12 months that Hank just stopped
01:48:12 and was like, "Okay, maybe you."
01:48:13 He did the, "Being a Boston sports fan is so hard."
01:48:17 Yeah, no, Max is a way bigger loser.
01:48:21 I forgot.
01:48:22 It is so funny how this podcast has really worked out that it's just like PFT and I are
01:48:27 such losers that-
01:48:29 It doesn't faze us.
01:48:30 It doesn't even-
01:48:31 You're not even sniffy.
01:48:32 No, no.
01:48:33 It's like we're such big losers that we're not even losers anymore.
01:48:36 It's like non-fact.
01:48:37 I don't even get mad.
01:48:38 You were like, "Big Cat kept saying you would make this bet in a heartbeat.
01:48:40 I said you would never have a team that has this much of a favor to win a championship."
01:48:45 Yeah.
01:48:46 Talk to me in two weeks when I get Kayla Williams.
01:48:47 Talk to me in two weeks then.
01:48:48 Oh, dude, Hank, you're going to hate us so much when we have two elite quarterbacks and
01:48:52 we win for the next 15 years.
01:48:54 Statistically speaking, we're both going to have elite quarterbacks.
01:48:57 Really good, yeah.
01:48:58 It's going to be-
01:48:59 First two picks.
01:49:00 It's going to change.
01:49:01 The entire course of the podcast is going to change.
01:49:03 Yeah, this is title town.
01:49:04 This desk right now, title town.
01:49:05 How many NFC championships do you think we'll match up in?
01:49:07 Between the two of us?
01:49:08 Probably like five or six.
01:49:09 Probably five of the next six.
01:49:10 It's going to be incredible.
01:49:11 Yeah.
01:49:12 It's going to be like Seahawks 49ers.
01:49:14 Yeah.
01:49:15 Going back and forth.
01:49:16 We'll buy our tickets for it at the start of every season.
01:49:18 Oh, man.
01:49:19 I hope it happens.
01:49:20 No.
01:49:21 No, you don't.
01:49:22 No, you don't.
01:49:23 Yeah, I do.
01:49:24 You just want to win and watch us lose.
01:49:25 You don't even want us to be good enough to have heartbreaking loss.
01:49:28 No, just give me basketball.
01:49:30 You guys can have football.
01:49:32 Give Hank basketball and Marvin-
01:49:33 And hockey.
01:49:34 I'll take hockey.
01:49:35 All right, well, yeah, we're going to have Whitney or Bizon.
01:49:39 The thing about Marvin Harrison Jr. also, he's going to want to get the fuck out of
01:49:43 New England so fast if he doesn't have a quarterback.
01:49:45 Oh, he's going to ask for a second contract the first day.
01:49:48 You ready to give it to him?
01:49:51 You got to watch the tape.
01:49:53 You have to wait until you work your deals up.
01:49:56 I will back Hank up on this.
01:49:59 Hank is doing something that I do all the time in sports.
01:50:01 I think we all do it.
01:50:03 You see one guy one time live.
01:50:05 Yeah.
01:50:06 From the field.
01:50:07 And he's just the greatest player.
01:50:08 He saw Marvin Harrison against Wisconsin in Camp Randall, and he ran across the entire
01:50:13 field and caught like a four yard pass, then took it to the house for a touchdown.
01:50:20 And at that moment, Hank was like, "This is the greatest wide receiver ever."
01:50:23 And I completely back you up because if I see someone do something live, it's like,
01:50:27 I've said it before, but I thought Luke Kennard was going to be the greatest NBA player ever
01:50:31 because he dribbled behind his back as a lefty.
01:50:33 And I was like, "This guy's fucking insane."
01:50:35 I mean, Marvin Harrison is awesome.
01:50:36 Yeah, he's-
01:50:37 And Jacobia Brissett can make that throw.
01:50:39 But if he had gone to an LSU game this year, he would be like neighbors.
01:50:43 Yeah.
01:50:44 Well, yeah.
01:50:45 Anthony Edwards.
01:50:46 I mean, not Anthony Edwards, Anthony Richardson.
01:50:48 Yeah, that was the other one.
01:50:50 You were kind of right on that.
01:50:51 Yeah.
01:50:52 All right.
01:50:53 So?
01:50:54 So you are a scout.
01:50:55 Give me Marvin Harrison.
01:50:56 I'm backing you up.
01:50:57 All right, numbers.
01:50:58 40.
01:50:59 20.
01:51:00 8.
01:51:01 3.
01:51:02 56.
01:51:03 18.
01:51:04 99, Pug.
01:51:05 Are we never going to address the 72, 73?
01:51:09 We should probably talk about that real quick.
01:51:11 Oh yeah, Brooks.
01:51:12 So he zoned out, didn't get 72, and then shot 73-73 the first two days.
01:51:20 What number did he get?
01:51:22 73 for his score.
01:51:25 So he's just got to focus on...
01:51:28 He's got to focus.
01:51:29 It's actually our fault though, because we should have had the lottery ball pick like
01:51:32 68, and then he would have been great.
01:51:35 Yeah.
01:51:36 And he would have won the Masters.
01:51:37 Yeah.
01:51:38 All right, what were the numbers again?
01:51:39 Say them again.
01:51:40 40.
01:51:41 20.
01:51:42 3.
01:51:43 18.
01:51:44 I just want to hear Pug say it again.
01:51:45 99, Pug.
01:51:46 Pug, how was your farmer's dog dinner?
01:51:47 21.
01:51:48 Delicious, Pug.
01:51:49 We were ordering dinner, and you just texted back, and you're like, "I got my own food,
01:51:58 because your stomach ailments."
01:51:59 And I was like, "Yeah, he eats farmer's dog every day."
01:52:04 No food from the vet, Pug.
01:52:05 All right, 56.
01:52:06 99!
01:52:07 99, Pug!
01:52:08 99, Pug!
01:52:09 Let's go, Pug!
01:52:10 A two-time winner?
01:52:11 Get Pug in here.
01:52:12 Go, go, go.
01:52:13 Pug, get in there.
01:52:14 Yes, that's 99.
01:52:15 That's not 66, right?
01:52:16 It's 99.
01:52:17 It took me a second.
01:52:18 I was like, "Should I get in there?"
01:52:19 Get in here, Pug!
01:52:20 Let's go, Pug.
01:52:21 I don't think he's going to get in there.
01:52:22 I don't think he's going to get in there.
01:52:23 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:24 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:25 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:26 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:27 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:33 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:34 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:35 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:36 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:37 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:38 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:39 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:40 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:41 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:42 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:43 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:44 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:45 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:46 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:47 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:48 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:49 I think he's going to get in there.
01:52:50 I think he's going to get in there.
01:53:19 So two-time winner like Scotty Scheffler.
01:53:21 What are you going to do with winning second time?
01:53:25 I don't know.
01:53:27 Maybe just go to the vet again.
01:53:28 Some people are saying you're a system dog,
01:53:30 that you can only win on 99.
01:53:32 Are you going to switch from 99 or are you going to stick with the system?
01:53:34 Good question.
01:53:35 Actually, I thought about it after the first one,
01:53:36 and a lot of people were saying it would be phony to switch from 99.
01:53:39 Also the merch.
01:53:40 Yeah, true.
01:53:41 99.
01:53:42 That would really affect things.
01:53:43 Buy a shirt.
01:53:44 I'm going to go buy a shirt.
01:53:45 They're great shirts.
01:53:46 I don't think we ever put those out.
01:53:47 We should put them out.
01:53:48 I personally just never put those out.
01:53:49 I don't think we ever put those out.
01:53:51 They're like the best designed shirts we've ever made.
01:53:53 I don't think we ever put them out.
01:53:54 Now we're going to have to.
01:53:58 Now we have to drop them pug.
01:53:59 Yeah, there we go.
01:54:00 Okay.
01:54:01 Well, you didn't say pug after the last one.
01:54:02 Okay, well, so a pug, last question, rollback question.
01:54:07 Are you a little worried because I think this is the week we're getting Mr.
01:54:11 Pear?
01:54:12 So now we're going to have a pug and a pear?
01:54:15 Yeah.
01:54:16 Sounds like a podcast.
01:54:17 We should just have pug just talking, interviewing Mr. Pear once a week.
01:54:22 No, I mean, I'm fine with it.
01:54:25 I'm excited to meet him and I think it'll be good for the show.
01:54:29 Yeah.
01:54:30 Don't try to eat him.
01:54:31 Yeah, don't swallow him.
01:54:32 No guarantees.
01:54:33 Is there anybody that you'd like to thank, pug?
01:54:36 Just all the pugs out there.
01:54:40 All my dogs.
01:54:42 All my fellow pugs.
01:54:44 All right.
01:54:45 We'll see everyone on Wednesday.
01:54:47 Love you guys.
01:54:49 Bye.
01:54:50 Bye.
01:54:51 Bye.
01:54:52 Bye.
01:54:53 Bye.
01:54:54 Bye.
01:54:55 Bye.
01:54:56 Bye.
01:54:57 Bye.
01:54:58 Bye.
01:54:59 Bye.
