00:00 While the Raw and occasionally SmackDown after WrestleMania have had peaks and valleys over
00:04 their decades-long existence, it is always fun to get excited for what is typically the
00:08 biggest red and blue shows of the year.
00:11 The crowd is usually excellent, with all the folks happiest to watch WWE's biggest and
00:15 longest shows of the year still coming back for seconds and thirds in attendance.
00:19 There's usually good matches, and ultimately the Raw and SmackDown after WrestleMania is
00:24 the place where we get a look at all the fallout of the big show the night before and debut
00:28 some new stars who could be expected to play major roles in the big show that'll happen
00:32 364 days from then, except these times when that was very much never going to happen.
00:38 I'm Tempest Haling from PartsFunKnown, and these are the 8 worst post-WrestleMania debuts
00:43 in WWE history.
00:44 Fishing in real life is great and all, but much like wrestling, it also comes with a
00:48 lot of work.
00:49 Not just anyone can rock a singlet, and not just anyone can successfully reel in an Indochina
00:54 Featherback.
00:55 Thankfully for you, Fishing Clash has you covered.
00:57 As well as being a fishing sim, Fishing Clash gives you the opportun-a-ty to compete in
01:02 PvP across the world, participate in fish-catching tournaments, and attempt to reach the top
01:07 of global leaderboards.
01:09 Yes, this video is sponsored by Fishing Clash.
01:12 From the Florida coast to the Great Barrier Reef and my personal favorite, Loch Ness,
01:16 Fishing Clash will keep you busy with over 50 distinct locations, with each stop on your
01:20 world tour providing new fish to catch.
01:23 There's always new daily and weekly challenges offering all you Kurt Anglers sweet rewards
01:28 such as lures, special traits, and of course some hot rods that will make Roddy Piper blush.
01:33 For the more collaborative sorts, clans can be formed of up to 50 players, with each player
01:37 constantly improving via a vast skill tree system.
01:40 In 2024, Fishing Clash has become an official sponsor of Major League Fishing.
01:45 Some of the real life events happening in the US will be replicated in the game with
01:49 the same locations where players can take part in virtual competitions and win in-game
01:54 rewards.
01:55 Get started now, download Fishing Clash using our link below or scan the QR code on screen,

02:13 out.
02:14 Happy fishing!
02:15 #8.
02:16 The Redebuts Honorable mention, Veer!
02:18 Oh god, I'm gonna Veer.
02:20 While not technically a debut, the payoff of six months of "Veer is coming" vignettes
02:24 simply being "he shows up and beats up the Mysterios, same as any other foreign heel"
02:29 was a colossal waste of Veer's burgeoning status as a meme.
02:34 #8.
02:35 The Redebuts Last week we drew a line in the sand and did
02:38 not count the redebuts and returns in our list of bests.
02:42 Sorry X-Pac, you would have placed highly otherwise, and I'm sorry commenters, but
02:46 I simply forgot that Umaga had previously been Jamal on WWE programming.
02:51 Happens to the best of us.
02:52 But in this case, we could simply not leave Lord Tensai out of this conversation.
02:57 If 15-year-old Tempest had been a big New Japan fan like he was just a few years later,
03:02 he might have been a bit annoyed when Giant Bernard, the former IWGP Tag Champion and
03:06 New Japan Cup runner-up, returned to WWE to have Albert Chance rain down upon him at the
03:12 Raw after WrestleMania 28.
03:13 But like I said, 15-year-old Tempest didn't know about any of that and just thought this
03:18 redebut sucked.
03:20 Then just days later we got another redebut on Smackdown, this time in the form of Skip
03:25 Sheffield.
03:26 Yup, yup, yup.
03:27 What a stupid f***ing catchphrase.
03:29 The big muscle man of the Nexus had been out for a year and a half with a broken ankle,
03:32 but when he returned, he was the hungriest wrestler to have ever graced a WWE ring.
03:37 And not in a metaphorical sense, Ryback just wanted to eat.
03:40 See him here taking multiple Subway sandwiches.
03:43 It is as basic as a debut can be.
03:45 He squashes a jobber, but given that this could also be said about Ryback's next six
03:50 months, he felt like a fitting inclusion.
03:52 7.
03:53 Bertha Faye
03:54 Nothing says "Raw after WrestleMania" quite like a women's comedy wrestler debuting
03:57 to attack the winner of a Tokyo Dome rematch.
04:00 Although now that I think about it, I think there may be a few thousand things that say
04:03 it better.
04:04 Bertha Faye was a trailer park Mississippian dating Harvey Whippleman, straight bars, and
04:08 she debuted on the Raw after WrestleMania XI by attacking Alundra Blaze after her match
04:13 with Bo Nakano.
04:14 I have nothing against Bertha Faye the person, aka Ronda Singh, but a hillbilly comedy yokel
04:19 is the kind of character that was weighing down the women's division of the time.
04:23 And yeah, I wasn't kidding, this was the follow-up angle for the Tokyo Dome rematch
04:28 of Blaze and Nakano, which has me scratching my mask if I'm honest.
04:32 I mean, to book a match like this, you would think you would have a certain kind of audience
04:36 in mind, one that would want to see Alundra Blaze vs. Bo Nakano.
04:40 And you would think that those fans wouldn't be the ones that would care to see a f*cking
04:46 trailer park comedy goofball get involved.
04:48 I mean, as we all know, 1995 was when WWE was doing their best thinking after all.
04:53 6.
04:54 AOP Considering the authors of Pain were clearly
04:57 meant to evoke the memory of the Road Warriors, it only makes sense that Paul Ellering got
05:01 left at the door when they arrived in WWE.
05:03 I learned from your very obvious mistakes from nearly 30 years earlier, when you can
05:07 just do the same thing over and over again.
05:10 On the night after WrestleMania 34 in 2018, former SmackDown Tag Champs and future Impact
05:15 Tag Champs Rhyno and Heath Slater laid down an open challenge to try and inject themselves
05:20 back into the tag mix, and unfortunately for them, that challenge was met by the authors
05:24 of Pain.
05:25 AOP got their win, but as they made their exit, they committed the cardinal sin that
05:29 lands them a place on this list.
05:31 They told Paul Ellering to stay behind and join them no longer.
05:36 Because what would an NXT call-up be if they didn't make them at least a little bit worse?
05:40 Ellering was the personality of the team, the man with the pedigree based on years and
05:45 decades of managerial success.
05:47 Without him, AOP was just a pair of lumbering big men that blended in with the roster with
05:52 mixed results.
05:53 Ellering is back with them now that they're in their comeback era, so time will tell if
05:56 his addition back to the team can do for them what his comeback did for Hawk and Animal.
06:03 5.
06:05 The Great Khali Following WrestleMania 22 and Mark Henry's
06:08 loss to The Undertaker, what Taker really needed was an even bigger, even less mobile
06:13 adversary to battle on SmackDown.
06:15 Enter The Great Khali.
06:17 Very, very slowly.
06:19 The Undertaker stops his beatdown of Mark Henry to wonder to himself why Daivari has
06:23 brought out this clearly very handsome Punjabi playboy during his match only for Khali to
06:27 bop him on the head like Little Rabbit Fufu.
06:29 Seriously, I expect a cartoon bonk sound to play and stars to circle Taker's head whenever
06:35 Khali uses his dreaded karate chop.
06:37 In theory, this wasn't terribly offensive.
06:40 It's a big guy getting smashed over by destroying an established star, but it doesn't get a
06:44 very impressive reaction.
06:46 All of Khali's offense looks bad, just as it would for his entire career, and you really
06:50 got a feel for poor Undertaker going from a no-way-out classic against Kurt Angle for
06:54 the world title, to facing Mark Henry in a casket match at Mania, to immediately getting
06:58 saddled with having to work The Great Khali's first program.
07:02 Poor man was begging for a quality opponent.
07:05 4.
07:06 No Way Jose I don't think there is a single example of
07:09 a Raw after Mania debut feeling like the beginning and end of a star's run better than No Way
07:14 Jose.
07:15 With WWE having recycled Adam Rose's character for No Way Jose, it should come as no surprise
07:20 that his main roster run went just about as well.
07:22 It all started on the Raw after WrestleMania 34 when Jose quickly beat Jon Skyler, who
07:27 you may have recently seen in TNA, with his pop-up punch, by far the worst of the pop-up
07:32 finishers.
07:33 This is really where the post-Mania call-ups began to feel manufactured.
07:36 "Who's gonna show up tonight?
07:39 Woooo!"
07:40 Then it's No Way Jose, there is polite applause, resume regular programming.
07:44 It feels like an NXT call-up off a factory line.
07:47 Like no one thought No Way Jose was ever going to be a top guy.
07:51 No, you stop writing that comment.
07:53 No you didn't.
07:54 And sure enough, outside of a pair of wins against Baron Corbin and Curt Hawkins, did
07:58 he win a match on Raw ever again?
08:00 No Way Jose!
08:02 3.
08:03 Lars Sullivan There have been a few moving and memorable
08:06 retirement ceremonies on the Raw after Mania over the years.
08:09 Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels and Paige immediately come to mind, the wrestlers are allowed to
08:14 say their piece and be celebrated for their legendary careers.
08:17 So tell me why the f*** that same luxury was not afforded to Kurt Angle in 2019?
08:22 It is bad enough that Kurt had to have his last match against an opponent he didn't
08:27 want in a bad 5 minute match, but to then have him laid out on the following night as
08:32 well just really does drive home the point that WWE did not respect Kurt on the level
08:37 of his legendary peers.
08:38 Anyway, I guess I should talk about the actual debut now.
08:41 Lars Sullivan was a decent big guy from NXT with a yet to be unearthed history of problematic
08:46 opinions, and following an address from the Red, White and Blue Machine on the Raw after
08:49 WrestleMania 35, Lars laid him out and left him laying.
08:53 It's just unnecessary, I don't know what more there is to say.
08:56 There are a million ways to debut a guy, it doesn't have to be laying out the guy
09:00 that just had the retirement match he didn't want, who also got inducted into the Hall
09:04 of Fame by someone he didn't want.
09:06 I love Kurt Angle, and I just wish he got more there at the end.
09:10 2.
09:11 2020 If the year of our lord 2020 feels like a
09:13 fever dream to you, just wait until I read off the card for the Raw after Mania 36.
09:18 You start off normal with Asuka beating Liv Morgan in 11 minutes, then there's some
09:22 DQ wackiness with the Street Profits, Bianca and Zelina Vega's crew, and then okay,
09:27 Aleister Black vs Apollo Crews for OH MY GOD 27 and a half minutes.
09:32 Things have officially gone insane, but we ain't done yet, because we have the first
09:36 main roster appearances of Danny Burch in a tag team match alongside the briefly seen
09:41 Oney Lorcan against Ricochet and Cedric Alexander, and Brandon Vink, better known today as Duke
09:47 Hudson, who lost in 3 minutes to Humberto Carrillo.
09:50 Now these may seem insignificant, and ultimately I guess you would be right, but I need to
09:54 remind you that this was when WWE was reportedly "high on Brandon Vink" and started pushing,
10:00 in the loosest sense of the word, him and tag partner Shane Thorne as MVP's first
10:05 managerial clientele.
10:07 I mean they're basically the original Hurt Business, and what a way to start that run.
10:11 And while this technically didn't constitute a debut either, with a Raw appearance coming
10:15 the previous December, I will give you 5 seconds to guess who Nia Jax beat in 90 seconds on
10:20 this show.
10:26 Did you say AEW star Dionna Purrazzo?
10:28 I bet you didn't.
10:30 Those were our surprises for the Raw After Mania circa 2020, and you know what?
10:34 It does feel appropriately mad.
10:36 And speaking of, number one, Lilly.
10:39 Maybe I shouldn't be saying this while recording with the f*** doll right behind me, but for
10:42 Bray Wyatt to make his final appearance of this run on the same show as the debut of
10:47 this stupid thing just offends me.
10:49 No, I'm kidding, this isn't number one.
10:52 Just put the knife down, Lilly, I'll change it.
10:55 Number 1 - Sin Cara The very first Triple H project to arrive on
10:59 the WWE main roster, and boy did Sin Cara ever make Triple H feel confident fast.
11:04 After weeks of vignettes hyping up the arrival of, at the time, Mexico's greatest luchador,
11:09 Sin Cara finally made his debut on the Raw After Mania 27 to make the save for poor Daniel
11:14 Bryan.
11:15 He runs, he jumps, he immediately f***s up his entrance.
11:18 Way to make a first impression.
11:20 The run of the original Sin Cara has gone down in WWE folklore as one of the company's
11:25 most disappointing, and you really do get the sense this run was cursed right from the
11:29 start.
11:30 I don't know if his nerves got the best of him, I don't know if his tiny secret
11:33 tramopoline was too close to the ring, I don't know if he simply f***ed up.
11:37 But what I really don't know was what was going through Sheamus' mind when he watched
11:41 this man take a tumble over the top rope knowing he was about to have to make him look as good
11:45 as possible.
11:46 Props to you, Sheamus, you're a stronger man than I.
11:49 Thank you so much as always for watching our list here on PartsFunKnown, and before you
11:52 go, make sure you check out this video's sponsor, Fish 'N Clash.
11:55 You can find their link in the description below and in the pinned comment.
11:59 - After WrestleMania has had its fair share of peaks and valleys over the last decade,
12:03 and by extension so too have the debuts we have seen on the week of shows that follow
12:08 WWE's biggest show of the year.
12:10 Some have been absolutely monumental, some have been decent but not impressive, and some
12:15 have been the peak of that star's entire main roster.
