00:00 Congratulations.
00:01 Oh, thanks so much.
00:02 You're a nominee. What does it mean?
00:03 Well, it means that, you know, I'm here because I'm standing on the shoulders of great giants
00:08 like James Graham, our writer Rupert Gould, and what the National Theatre does.
00:12 I started out about over 35 years ago as a dresser at the National.
00:16 So it's a kind of wonderful full circle to be in a production that worked
00:20 and to be here with that backdrop. So nothing but blessed.
00:24 Aw, and playing Gareth Southgate, what's that been like?
00:28 You know, it's wonderful to portray a true gentleman.
00:32 And, you know, the play is about football, but it's about identity,
00:37 one's own identity, national identity.
00:40 And he's a great connuit into a really fascinating conversation.
00:44 And has he seen the play? Have you spoken to him? What's the situation?
00:48 I haven't. I wish I had from research and things like that.
00:51 I just spent hours looking at Sky Sports interviews.
00:55 Apparently, I think people that know him have seen the play and they love it.
00:59 And the FA gave us a thumbs up. So I think we did alright.
01:01 I think we need to get a photo of these together. That needs to happen.
01:04 I think it does, especially before the Euros, because I'd like to get some free tickets.
01:07 Well, don't we all? And listen, are you going on some sort of Canada expedition soon?
01:12 Is that happening?
01:13 Well, between the National and the West End run of Dear England,
01:16 I had about a couple of weeks off and I went to Canada then
01:20 and shot this documentary with Ram, my cousin.
01:23 And we went into the wilds of Canada and fought buffalo and God knows what.
01:28 But we survived and it was lovely.
01:30 Kevin, you've already done that. You're a busy man.
01:32 I know. I'll talk to my wife about that.
01:35 That's lovely to see. Good luck tonight. Good luck. See you later.
