‘Cerapan anak bulan' jadi penentu hari kemenangan umat Islam

Meskipun tarikh permulaan Ramadan mahupun Syawal telah ditetapkan lebih awal melalui proses hisab, tetapi cerapan anak bulan Syawal 1443H telah menggemparkan seluruh Malaysia apabila ‘tiba-tiba Raya’, berlaku di luar jangkaan takwim Hijri. Bagaimana proses cerapan anak bulan ini berlaku?

00:00 After being welcomed by the noble kings,
00:06 I hereby declare that the date of fasting for all Malaysian countries is on the day of Ismail, 2nd May 2022.
00:22 Peace be upon you.
00:27 The month of Ramadan
00:37 Although the date of fasting for the month of Ramadan has been set earlier through the calculation process,
00:43 the date of fasting for the month of Ramadan, 1443 Hijri, has shocked the whole of Malaysia
00:50 when the celebration happened outside the Taqwin Hijri.
00:55 The celebration of the month of Ramadan is not something new for the Muslims.
01:00 The first celebration of the month of Ramadan for the whole country was on 7 October 1972
01:08 together with 29th of Sha'ban, 1392 Hijri.
01:13 Before 1995, Malaysia had used several rules in the arrangement of the Taqwin Hijri
01:21 such as the Ishtilahi, Ishtimak Hakiki and Ishtimak Wujud Al Hilal.
01:26 Although the use of the conditions started in 1991,
01:41 the use of the arrangement of the Taqwin Hijri only started in May 1995
01:47 on the day of the month of Muharram, 1415 Hijri.
01:51 In 1992, we used the criteria of Mekon Rupiah.
01:56 At that time, we used the old criteria, which had three criteria.
02:01 When the sun sets, the altitude of the moon must be more than 2 degrees
02:09 and the elongation of the crescent to the sun must be more than 3 degrees
02:15 or the age of the crescent is more than 8 hours.
02:20 So, the criteria were used from 1992 and the criteria were used for a long time
02:26 until in August 2021, we used a new criteria.
02:31 We only had two criteria, which is the crescent must be more than 3 degrees
02:35 and the elongation of the crescent to the sun must be more than 6.4 degrees.
02:40 However, most people are not convinced about the initial determination of the Hijri month
02:47 which is used in Malaysia.
02:49 Is it rational?
02:51 In contrast to the lunar eclipse?
02:53 We call it Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
02:58 We have to make a wish to see the lunar eclipse.
03:02 We have to make a wish to determine the new Islamic month.
03:06 What about the process of the lunar eclipse?
03:10 The process of determining the eclipse starts from a meeting at the National Islamic Affairs Office
03:15 and the Malaysian Islamic Development Office
03:17 and then calls all the Mufti offices from all over the country for the distribution of data.
03:23 Then, from the data, we bring it to the meeting of the members of the Falak Council
03:30 to verify the data.
03:32 From all the data, we will then proceed to the preparation for the eclipse.
03:38 We will arrange the date for each eclipse.
03:41 In Selangor, we have three locations of the eclipse.
03:43 For example, in Balai Cerap Selangor.
03:45 The process of the eclipse starts at 6.30pm, which is usually the time of sunset.
03:54 All the objects in the sky will be in the east, and the sun will be in the west.
03:58 So, after the sun sets, we have a few moments, sometimes two minutes, sometimes five minutes,
04:04 sometimes up to 30 minutes before the eclipse or lunar eclipse.
04:08 After determining whether the lunar eclipse is visible or not,
04:11 a report will be given to the Sahibul Samahah, Datuk Sri Utama Diraja Mufti Selangor,
04:18 who will then report to the King's Chief of Staff,
04:22 who will also collect reports on the lunar eclipse in the whole country.
04:27 Over time, lunar eclipse technology, according to Takwim Hidjo,
04:32 is also getting more advanced.
04:35 In the past, we used a DSLR camera that we put on a telescope to record the lunar eclipse.
04:40 Now, there are various technology such as CCTV, and now we use ZWO.
04:45 So, in terms of technology, when we want to see the lunar eclipse,
04:50 the important thing is to know where the moon is.
04:53 There are suggestions to use satellites and other devices, but so far, they are not used.
04:59 So, the view is asked by the Prophet,
05:01 only the equipment that may develop in terms of use,
05:06 if there is new technology, maybe a sharper telescope, more accurate, can be used.
05:14 Although the lunar eclipse can accurately calculate the position of the moon,
05:20 the conditions set by the explanation are not to be done.
05:23 Seeing the moon is a fardu kifaya.
