00:00 The Philippine Army prioritized the memory of the Filipinos who sacrificed in World War II.

00:06 And live from Taguig, we have the first news, Bam Alegre.

00:11 Good morning, Ivan. Here in the Tomb of the Filipino Veterans in Taguig,

00:18 there are activities for the Philippine Veterans Week and the upcoming Day of Ascension.

00:28 Ivan, on Tuesday, the sun is shining but there is a bit of darkness today.

00:31 Their community is being recognized here in the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers of Fort Bonifacio in Taguig.

00:37 A sunshine ceremony was held here in the presence of Lieutenant General Roy M. Galido,

00:42 Commanding General of the Philippine Army.

00:44 Some veterans who are still alive came here, and until now, they have become the wives of the deceased.

00:49 There is also a wreath-laying ceremony that was led by the body of Defense Secretary Gilberto Chodoro Jr.

00:55 And later, there will be a testimonial review in honor of the veterans.

00:58 April 9, 1942, the day that the transfer of 75,000 prisoners of war, guerrillas, and Filipino and American soldiers

01:07 from Bagac and Mariveles, Bataan to Camp O'Donnell in Capa Starlac began.

01:11 It was difficult for the Bataan Death March and thousands of others who died because of this.

01:17 Most of them were not buried properly.
