00:00 If you're planning to travel to or from Leeds train station between the 5th and 10th of April,
00:06 your journey could be impacted by the latest round of train driver strikes.
00:10 Saturday the 6th of April will be particularly impacted,
00:13 with Northern and TransPennine Express unable to run any trains due to the walkout.
00:18 There's also industrial action planned for the 5th, 8th and 9th of April on the railways,
00:23 which may cause disruption and delays to connections, with a knock-on effect through to the 10th of April.
00:28 Passengers travelling on any of the days are being urged to check all legs of their journey
00:33 to stay up to date with any upcoming disruption.
00:36 And we can now hear from some of you about how strike action has impacted your recent journeys.
00:41 Sometimes I can't get the train, I have to get a lift to school, because obviously it's a strike.
00:46 And also the days when I'm going into town, to Leeds, I can't do that, I have to get the 36,
00:51 which isn't a bad thing but it definitely impacts you in a way.
00:56 I support the strikes, I think it's a very good cause, and even though it affects me, I still support them.
01:02 I know that they are looking for an increase in the living wage in line with inflation,
01:09 so that's understandable, I think anyone can relate to that.
01:14 But at the same time, people really do not want to be inconvenienced,
01:17 and we all know that public transport in this country doesn't necessarily work as it should anyway.
01:22 I was due to catch up with a friend I haven't seen for three years, and we've had to cancel due to train strikes.
01:28 Regarding whether they should or shouldn't happen, I can understand why they want to happen,
01:34 but obviously as a user of any service, it's a shame that it impacts the end users.
01:42 I'm in London for work a couple of times a month, and it can make that difficult.
01:46 There's been a couple of trips I've had to call off because it just hasn't been possible,
01:50 and obviously my family's up in Scotland, it can kind of get in the way.
01:53 But to be honest, it can generally be planned around these days.
01:55 Remote working probably makes it less of a complete showstopper than it would have been pre-pandemic.
