Commuters speak about Sturry Road Park and Ride reopening in Canterbury
Transcript
00:00 Very pleased to see it open. We're halfway home when you come to Sturry Road because obviously we live in Margate and
00:04 my friend lives in Ramsgate and we car share to come in. So this is absolutely priceless.
00:09 Before this opened, how was your journey into work?
00:11 Absolutely awful because obviously you'd have to traipse all the way across Canterbury and if they're trying to cut down emissions
00:17 and at the end of the day, that's not really a good shout because you're traveling all the way into Canterbury just to come all the way back.
00:24 Sometimes when the traffic's really bad, when you're coming down Reams Way, it can take you over an hour to get through there,
00:31 let alone get the rest of your journey done.
00:32 And I think they were worried at one point there was vandalism going on. We were worried about leaving the cars here,
00:37 but at the end of the day, it is what it is. You've got to take that chance. You can get that anywhere.
00:42 All the other ones are very...
00:44 If you're coming from Dover, they're very hard to get to.
00:46 I've tried the Dover Park and Rye, you have to go all the way through country lanes whereas this one's an ideal situation for us.
00:53 Transport into Canterbury is really difficult and it's quite expensive,
00:57 but this is the cheapest alternative and it means that you don't have to go and park in Canterbury.
