00:00 I was wondering, are you staying much work or have you been involved with the councils
00:04 who have been drawing up their local development plans in terms of identifying opportunities
00:10 for increased bus infrastructure, bus lanes? I'd asked the department about this, it might
00:16 have been last week, it might have been the week before, but it's the lack of bus lanes
00:20 outside of Belfast.
00:23 I'll answer specifically about outside of Belfast, yes, we talked about the North West,
00:30 we've worked very closely with the council there and we've come up, we've suggested a
00:35 number of areas in terms of their new scheme that they're planning of where bus priority
00:39 could be better used and we're really keen to get some bus priority into Derry, London
00:45 Derry for example, I think there's some good opportunities there and we've just invested
00:49 in a new zero emission fleet there as well and encouraging more people to use public
00:53 transport would be very helpful.
00:57 The council have set up a group to look at how to encourage more people to use public
01:02 transport and we're very active with them on that as well. So yeah, we have been working
01:06 on that, we engage with all of the councils on their local development plans as well.
01:11 But sadly even in Belfast, I mean the last bus lane really that went into Belfast when
01:15 Glider was implemented in 2018, we haven't been growing our ambition on public, on bus
01:20 priority since that, there's been a big gap and we hope with the executive back now we
01:26 can start to address that in all of our urban areas.
