After his recent project at West Street Cemetery the talented chainsaw wood sculptor Michael Jones is back creating a piece for Gostrey Meadow.
The piece at Gostrey Meadow features a Heron but there are a few more additions that will be added later on this week.
The project is funded by Farnham Town Council as part of Farnham in Bloom. Jones believes that if the weather holds up the project will be completed later this week.
The West Street Cemetery statue was finished last week and features animals such as a Fox , Two Owls , a squirrel, a Deer and a Hawk.
Michael Jones started off as a Tree Surgeon when he was 18 and five years later started taking up chainsaw wood carving. The chainsaw wood carving is now his full-time job in which he works for council commissions, businesses and private clients creating wood carved figures such as animals, mythical creatures and people.
He is completely self-taught and whilst he does use design to guide him most of his creation are done through skill , experience and his imagination.
