00:00 In the midst of the heat, while the supply of electricity in some places in Metro Manila and Laguna is disappearing, this is the first week of April.
00:08 We have first news, Jaime Santos.
00:10 While the sun is shining, Jenny Lin is still outside her house in Barangay UP Campus, Daliman, Quezon City.
00:21 I cannot stay inside the house because it's too hot.
00:24 Luisa's family also couldn't stand the heat of the weather.
00:28 We're here outside and it's a bit wet.
00:30 We have water in the roof so that the heat inside the house will be absorbed.
00:34 It seems that they will sweat more because of the announced line maintenance of Meralco when April comes.
00:40 Some places in Barangay UP Campus will lose electricity because of this.
00:45 Some parts of Quezon City, Navotas, Makati City, Pasig, Muntinlupa and Laguna, also added to the list.
00:54 We are announcing this every Thursday and Friday.
00:58 But in the summer months, we are more careful knowing that our customers are really in need of power supply.
01:06 Last Sunday, the Energy Department said that the Luzon grid can be yellow alert in April and May.
01:12 The lack of rain affected the operation of hydroelectric power plants.
01:18 Meralco assured that their coordination with the Energy Department will continue and that they have plans to cut the supply of electricity.
01:27 We will be able to have sufficient energy supply from our power suppliers.
01:34 That includes our participation in the so-called interim power supply agreement to meet our needs.
01:45 They are also continuously asking the public to be kind to the consumption of electricity.
