00:00 You mentioned Salman, meeting Salman and going to his shoot and how he reacted to you.
00:05 So these are all friends of your dad's, isn't it?
00:08 They have great family association.
00:11 Yeah, great bonding.
00:13 Like if you see dad and Salman Khan in a room together, it's like some other kind of chemistry.
00:18 Every time you see them together, I don't know what happens to them.
00:21 It's as if they lit up.
00:23 Yeah, that's amazing.
00:24 And does that kind of filter down to you guys also? You also have that same relationship with your dad's friends?
00:31 Not the same, but serious ones.
00:33 But does that affection and everything come down to you?
00:37 Absolutely. I mean, Salman bhai launched the poster of Bad Boy.
00:41 Amit ji launched the trailer of Bad Boy.
00:43 Amit ji launched the logo for Myron movies.
00:46 So all the goodwill of dad is coming to us.
00:48 Not just them, Jaggu dada, Sunil Anna, Chichi bhaiya, who is my all time favourite actor ever, Shahrukh sir.
00:55 All of them have been very supportive.
00:57 And I remember, I take it as a joke, even Salman bhai also told it.
01:03 But it was very wise words he said.
01:06 He was like, I had gone to the shooting of Sultan.
01:12 I was on the sets of Sultan. He had called me to come and chill with him.
01:15 You know, bhai is all love.
01:17 So he is talking after pack up to all the younger generation who were shooting.
01:22 So he was telling them that there was another star kid in the thing.
01:26 Out of his, sir's respect, I won't take his name.
01:29 So he was giving him advice.
01:31 See, you are getting it easy. Look at him.
01:33 He has not even been given a chance to struggle.
01:37 And yet he is standing here.
01:39 So those words really hit me.
01:41 I am like, this man gets me.
01:43 Bhai does that.
01:45 He is respecting it.
01:47 Yes, bhai sees that.
01:49 Bhai will see that we are alive.
01:51 That's why he is Salman Khan.
01:53 Who is the better actor, Govinda or Mitton?
01:55 Mitton.
01:57 Govinda is an actor who was typecast in comedy roles.
02:02 My father could break that.
02:04 He can play Amrigya, he can play a disco dancer, he can play a Jallad, he can play a Kabuliwala, he can play Ramakrishna Parbansa.
02:13 Unfortunately, Chichi Bhaiya got typecast.
02:15 But even in that, he was marvelous.
02:18 One of the greats.
02:20 One of the great actors.
02:22 Even today, when movies come, we just stop and look at how easy it is for him.
02:27 My father had told me when I started watching films, I was a big Shah Rukh fan as well.
02:31 My father would say, Shah Rukh is fantastic, but if you want to watch a complete actor, watch Govinda.
02:37 So Govinda is the wholesome package.
02:40 I think Govinda is the most complete actor for sure.
02:43 You have worked with people like Sumit Shetty, Lute, Anna, Govinda, Chichi Bhaiya, Bhupi Chakrabhai.
02:52 You have acted with them. What was it like working with your dad's friends, your dad's colleagues?
02:57 Absolutely surreal.
02:59 Like this 25 year old boy who has zero experience in the industry.
03:03 Jimmy was not released yet.
03:05 And I am literally in the same frame as these three giants of the industry.
03:11 So it was quite intimidating at first.
03:13 But I remember there was one time we were shooting in Thailand.
03:16 And the scene was getting ready.
03:20 And there was a room in the AC where Chichi Bhaiya, Anna and Javed Bhai were sitting.
03:25 And I was standing outside, I can't go in.
03:28 And they saw me out.
03:29 And they said, "Mimu, what are you doing? Come inside."
03:31 I said, "No, Anna, I am fine."
03:33 They said, "Come and sit with us."
03:35 And they made me so comfortable.
03:37 They became my peers at that point.
03:39 Even though there was a huge generation gap.
03:41 And these guys were like legends.
03:43 But they didn't make me feel like I am a newcomer or I am somebody.
03:46 They just made me feel like a peer in their acting.
03:48 And then everything just became normal.
03:50 The ice broke.
03:52 They were like these huge icebergs.
03:54 And they themselves broke that.
03:55 And they came to my level.
03:56 So that really helped me open myself as an actor with them.
04:00 There were many nuances with me and Chichi Bhaiya which were happening.
04:02 And I am like, "Yes, Chichi Bhaiya, they do it."
04:04 Same thing happened with Nawaz sir and Jogira.
04:06 Because he is such a giving actor.
04:08 It's like you talk to him and he just breaks the ice with you.
04:10 So that's why whatever you see in Jogira is because of what they do.
04:14 And I remember Namoshi said, "Salman Bhai unveiled the poster."
04:18 Amit sir even today messages Namoshi and asks, "How's dad?"
04:23 Every single day.
04:24 Amit ji messages every single day.
04:26 To ask how dad is.
04:27 That's Amit sir for you.
04:29 And I remember there was this film which got shelved of mine which was before Jimmy.
04:33 He the only one.
04:35 And dad had called everybody and everybody came also.
04:38 At Sun and Sand.
04:40 So whether it was everybody from the industry.
04:42 Exactly.
04:44 So you know the event.
04:46 That was all because of dad's goodwill.
04:48 I remember we were all in the room in the suite.
04:50 We were getting ready.
04:52 And my cousin was talking to I think Remo, my younger brother.
04:54 And Salman bhai just walks in.
04:56 Because I am standing next to my brother.
04:58 And he is coming and giving me advice about protein shakes and workouts.
05:01 And my cousin everybody is like awestruck that they are looking at Salman Khan.
05:05 For him, for Salman bhai it was like Dada ka beta.
05:09 You know.
05:10 So that's kind of surreal even today.
05:12 So that way you have been very lucky.
05:15 Like you said fortunately.
05:18 And Salman bhai I will tell you he was shooting for Radhe.
05:20 I had just wrapped Bad Boy and I went to meet him at Mehboob.
05:23 And I went and touched his feet.
05:25 And I can say this in camera.
05:27 He said fuck off.
05:29 He said I am as old as you are.
05:31 Don't do this bullshit with me.
05:33 He gave me a hug.
05:34 And he said if you ever do this again.
05:36 Especially if Disha Patni is sitting here and you touch my feet.
05:38 I am going to throw you out of the set.
05:40 So rule number one.
05:41 Don't touch Salman bhai's feet.
05:43 Ever.
05:44 Ever.
05:45 So that's what you have learnt ultimately.
05:47 And then we spoke for hours.
05:48 And speaking of Chichi bhaiya.
05:50 Every December 21st is his birthday.
05:52 I go to his house.
05:53 I go with a cake.
05:55 And I sit with him for two hours.
05:57 And he is always generous to make tea for us.
05:59 He said if you come I will make tea.
06:02 And then the whole time I am praising him.
06:04 He gets bored.
06:05 He is like okay okay.
06:07 But he is such a sweet heart.
06:09 He is the best Chichi bhaiya.
06:11 He is a lovely person.
06:12 The industry is made of such nice people.
06:14 You have to see beyond all the glitz and glamour.
06:18 And they are just as loving as anybody else.
06:20 It's how we perceive everything.
06:22 As I told you about.
06:24 When it comes to the negativity and the nepotism and the tags.
06:27 It's just one small like an inch of dirt.
06:32 If you keep focusing on it, it becomes big.
06:34 It's not that.
06:35 It's just so much more to give.
06:37 And if just people see that now.
06:39 It can change so many things.
06:40 That's what I would say.
06:41 Yeah.
06:42 Yeah.
06:43 You know I find both of you such a contrast.
06:45 He of course everybody knows that he looks like Mithun.
06:50 Carbon copy.
06:51 There have been photos where he was.
06:53 I think it was during the songs of Bad Boy or during the promotions.
06:57 I remember there was one silhouette shot of him.
06:59 Which I thought it was dad.
07:01 I am like what does dad look like?
07:03 He is telling me it's me.
07:05 There are times when I have been dumbstruck.
07:07 Like who is who?
07:08 Like it's even the way he is.
07:10 His mannerisms, his profiles.
07:12 It's like it's literally dad again.
07:14 You know it's that way.
07:16 And you are a carbon copy of Yogi Tabali.
07:19 Carbon.
07:20 Copy paste.
07:21 Same old.
07:22 There was a very funny review of Jimmy.
07:24 We won't quote the journalist.
07:26 She said I went to watch Mithun Chakraborty Jr.
07:29 I got Yogi Tabali Jr.
07:30 So she was confused if she liked the film or not.
07:33 It was a very confusing review.
07:35 Is she actually giving me a cuss word or is she just complimenting me?
07:38 I am still figuring it out.
07:39 16 years later.
07:40 So Bristie we need to make a movie out of that.
07:42 Absolutely.
07:44 That's original content right there.
07:46 Absolutely original.
07:48 [Laughs]
07:50 [Music]
