Rebel Wilson On Losing Her Virginity At 35

00:09 that she hopes her experience will encourage young people to explore their sexuality at

00:14 their own pace, saying quote, "People can wait till they're ready or wait till they're

00:18 a bit more mature.

00:19 And I think that could be a positive message.

00:21 You obviously don't have to wait until you're in your 30s like me, but you shouldn't feel

00:25 pressure as a young person."

00:27 There is something Rebel felt, telling the outlet she avoided the subject when she was

00:31 younger and even lied about it at one point.

00:34 Quote, "There was one vague time I think I told my best friend, 'Oh yeah, I just did

00:39 it to get it over with when I was like 23,' just to really avoid the questions," adding,

00:43 "Normally I would just leave the room when the conversation was happening and then people

00:48 that said, 'Oh, at 24, it's so late,' and then I'm sitting here thinking, 'Oh my God,

00:53 my number's 35.

00:54 What the hell, I'm going to look like the biggest loser.'"

00:58 Although the 44-year-old actress calls herself a quote, "late bloomer," she's happy she waited

01:03 and admits her journey would have been different if she were younger.

01:09 If I had been born 20 years later, I probably would have explored my sexuality more.

01:14 I just knew I was attracted to men and that was the normal thing," she said, adding, "And

01:18 so when I started opening myself up probably more after my father's death and realizing,

01:23 'Oh, even though I'd seen marriage as a terrible thing and a waste of time,' I started opening

01:29 myself up to that.

01:30 And then only years later, meeting women and having feelings for a woman, and that, I just

01:36 think it's a sign of where society kind of was."
