Buckie Thistle defender Jack Murray talks after scoring the winner against Buckie Thistle.
Transcript
00:00 Right Jack, another absolutely crucial goal. You keep on popping up with them for Buckingham
00:03 Thistle. Where does this one rank in the goals you score for Buckingham?
00:06 I'd say in terms of importance, I'd say it's right up there. Obviously it keeps us in the hunt.
00:12 We knew obviously coming here tonight we needed to win. There was no other way about it.
00:16 Obviously we've been quite slack on the Saturday games recently so we're delighted to obviously
00:22 beat them and then see how they can cope with a bit of pressure now as well.
00:27 Yeah, a lot of it lined up from your manager there trying to say it was their own goal.
00:31 It was a heavily deflected strike but it was goal bound I think, wasn't it?
00:34 I think it was going on target. I'm claiming it like 100%. Yeah, so I'm happy with that one.
00:40 It's becoming a distance that you're not too unfamiliar with. You like to strike them from
00:44 a fair bit out and I've scored a few from a fair bit out.
00:46 Yeah, I have done recently. I'm obviously wanting to more chip in with the corners and that as well
00:52 but I'll take that one as well all day.
00:54 19 goals is an impressive tally. It goes without saying it's your best tally as a
00:59 footballer I'm sure and there could be a few more to come.
01:02 Yeah, 19. I'm quite happy with that number this season but obviously I'm still looking to add to
01:07 it. There's crucial games coming up so hopefully I can play a part in it.
01:11 In the first half we were thinking it was the story of our season, maybe missing chances and
01:15 then giving away sloppy goals but obviously we turned it around and managed to do it in this
01:20 game so hopefully we can continue that form and give us confidence to go beat these teams.
01:25 I'm quite certain there won't be any complacency between now and the end of the season from you
01:28 guys and no foregone conclusions anyway.
01:30 No, hopefully not. Hopefully we can go on a run now and put the pressure on Brechin.
01:36 The spirit in the camp must be really high just now because you're in such a good position with
01:41 these games at hand. Is the strain taking on your legs at all?
01:46 Yeah, we do feel it. Obviously the Wednesday night games you get a day longer recovery so
01:51 it helps a wee bit but Saturdays we are feeling leggy so that's when you need the boys and
01:56 maybe the sub players that haven't played such a part but we need them now to step up and play.
02:01 The manager mentioned that you've not been on the same ground together for such a long time,
02:05 it's just basically games, games, games. It doesn't give you time to maybe work on things
02:09 and that's possibly why you've conceded more goals than you normally do.
02:12 Yeah, that's probably a factor to it to be honest. Normally we are out in that training pitch
02:17 and Spiders got us well drilled but obviously we haven't been able to
02:20 train recently so it's had an impact on us.
02:23 But playing games gives you that match fitness,
02:25 it gives you that continuity which you'll need to keep going for the last six, seven games now?
02:30 Yeah, 100% obviously. It gives us that platform to go make things right so hopefully we can do that.
02:37 You're thinking, obviously the last two seasons have been so hard to take,
02:40 missing out on the very last day of the season. You can go one better if you really push it now?
02:44 Yeah, that's had a big impact on us. I'm still feeling it to this day so hopefully we can
02:51 go one step further and win it.
02:53 Doing the double over, Brechin certainly has one measure of revenge,
02:55 finishing above him is the key now?
02:57 Yeah, 100% aye. There's no point beating these top teams and then
03:02 having nothing to show for it so we need to make sure it's a good campaign for us this year.
