00:00 [Indistinct chatter]
00:07 I went on a 40th birthday party in Brussels.
00:19 And one of the activities was axe throwing.
00:22 I was thinking, "Oh my God, axe throwing, that sounds absolutely amazing."
00:25 The night before we'd been on the pop, so what we wanted to do is, "Great, let's go and do these axe throwing."
00:32 So we went in there, it was a group of males, females, and of course the males were like, "Oh yeah, macho, axes, real power."
00:40 But the women were like getting it in all the time, so it was finesse.
00:44 So it's not about physical power, it's just about a technique, because it only rotates once.
00:50 And it just said to me, "Wow, hobby job, that's what I'd love to do."
00:55 I decided to build a trailer and go mobile.
01:00 Because of the situation from COVID and it was closing all the fitness places down,
01:06 so I'm thinking, "Well, out in the outdoors, you can maybe still do the activity as long as you sanitize, etc."
01:13 So I sent this design to a company, they designed me this mobile trailer, and I went mobile.
01:20 So weddings, corporate, motor events, music, I can come to you, wherever it is.
01:32 But then with that, I thought, "Okay, I really want something inside, so I can do it all year round."
01:41 Because it's very much seasonal, you're dependent on the weather, and you're dependent on people obviously turning up.
01:48 Weddings are great, obviously, if they're pretty booked, because it's a good photo shoot.
01:52 So I then decided to find a venue, had a design in my head, didn't want to go too big to start off with,
02:02 and here I am, at Hax at Rushton.
02:07 It brings something to Rushton, brings something back into the community, because it's different.
02:14 Axe throwing is not everybody's cup of tea, but it is just like dance.
02:19 And it is, but rather than dance, you're throwing with an axe.
02:23 It's 90 minutes of throwing, and what we do is we actually get you so much practice in,
02:30 because practice is the key.
02:34 As long as we can make sure that you're going to get it into that board, then you're going to enjoy it.
02:39 And then it's game on.
