Petersfield town crier, Faye Thompson, dishes the dirt at Butser Ancient Farm on Saturday, March 23, during a Community Tree Planting event at the attraction near Clanfield. The ceremonial lime tree she planted was the first of 100 native trees and hedgerow plants planted around the site through the EHDC-funding Grow Up programme.

00:00 Again I don't know whether it's worth just pointing out sort of the kind of
00:04 the planting techniques here but effectively we've got a tree has kind of
00:11 got a natural sort of planting depth and so we're going to be basically wanting
00:18 to make sure that the root is underground but the trunk is out of the
00:23 ground. That's very important because otherwise we can't drink. Just to round it a little.
00:30 Oh this is just so lovely. That's it.
00:32 Thank you.
00:34 And then I'm going to put a little bit more soil in there.
00:38 Yes. And I've just got to stay here.
00:40 Well I have the greatest honour to help to plant the first tree of the day.
00:48 Thank you so much.
00:50 Well done.
00:52 Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
