00:00 In terms of this site, well there's a famous saying, Rome wasn't built in a day and nor
00:05 was the Wangaring Automated Depot at Orange. It's been a very long journey but I look around
00:10 this site and I've got to tell you it is absolutely brilliant. The layout, the design, the time
00:16 that's gone into this and to think that we were basically standing in an open field not
00:21 that long ago, that's quite remarkable. And this site has already nearly moved a million
00:26 containers through it, that's going to probably be achieved in the next week or so and has
00:30 already been very firmly embraced by the local residents of Orange and beyond. So this is
00:35 the 40th automated depot that's in operation across the state of New South Wales and look
00:41 I didn't say this but I think it could quite possibly be the best one. So with that in
00:46 mind, he's going to tell you that too. I'd like to introduce Gary Norton who's the Chair
00:51 of the Board of Wangaring Industries. Gary.
00:53 I just think we can go one better, best in Australia.

01:51 Previous to this, the closest bulk facility was in Bacchus. So there are a lot of containers
02:00 from going to Bacchus. There's a reality to that and that reality is that up until this
02:08 facility opened, because this facility provided is five sets of containers. It's not much
02:14 but when you do a whole heap of them, it adds up. So before this facility opened, I would
02:21 suggest that there was anywhere from $800,000 to a million dollars potentially that was
02:29 from the Orange community that was being collected by the operator in Bacchus. I'm not talking
02:36 about the 10 cents, I'm talking about the 5 cents. So this facility is bringing that
02:42 funding back to this community, back to Wangaring.
02:46 Wangaring has done a fantastic job in Orange for the last 60 years. This organisation has
02:51 been a source of valuable employment for hundreds of local residents over those years. The opportunity
02:58 to get paid for doing a job is so important for many of us, as well as providing the money
03:02 we need to pay the bills. Having a job delivers a sense of worth that means we're being valued
03:07 by the whole community. Like all businesses in Orange, Wangaring knows it has to adapt
03:12 and change to make sure it's providing the services that are in demand. I think it's
03:16 clear they're on a winner here by taking the role of becoming Orange's new earn and return
03:21 depot.
03:22 Step up.
