00:00 I've watched some films, I've watched lots of documentaries and things and read lots
00:20 of bits about them.
00:22 It's nice to have the circumstances and the surroundings that they would have been in,
00:28 you have some context.
00:30 But I didn't want to try and copy other people's portrayals too much.
00:36 I wanted to kind of make her my own and have my own kind of interpretation of what she
00:39 would be like.
00:40 But I love playing her, I think she's so fun.
00:44 There's lots of layers to her, she's a really strong woman, she's really feisty I think,
00:48 she's got a lot of fire in her, she's not afraid to get what she wants and ask for what
00:52 she wants.
00:53 And I think that's the best bit I enjoy about her, is that she's not scared of anything.
00:58 But well actually, all four members of the Barrow Gang, the script is so brilliantly
01:05 written by Ivan Menchel.
01:09 I feel that all of the characters have such a huge journey.
01:15 And as an actor it's an absolute dream because you're getting to play an entire range of
01:20 emotions and it's so well written that the script emotes that within you.
01:26 You know, barely trying, it's just beautifully put together and the love stories are at the
01:34 heart of it.
01:35 And so when we're emotional, we're emotional because it's so well written.
01:41 The arc of the story is handed to you on a plate.
01:45 Well Bonnie and Clyde has been kind of romanticised and glamorised a lot and this musical makes
01:51 them very real.
01:54 It really delves into their relationship and how that built and how their decisions and
02:00 how their relationship affects the people close to them and the people around them.
02:04 I am very much in love with this show.
02:06 I've waited a long time for the right musical to come along and this is absolutely the right
02:13 one.
02:14 I adore it, everything about it, the script, the music.
02:17 This one's not bad is it?
02:21 The whole cast are absolutely brilliant.
02:25 Nick's direction, it's been on my bucket list for such a long time to work with Nick, he's
02:31 incredible.
02:32 Everybody has just been amazing, we've got such a great team.
02:36 I would love to do more musicals, for sure.
02:42 And as we've already mentioned, you know, Frank Wildhorn, his music, Don Black, Ivan
02:48 Menchel.
02:49 It's just an absolute recipe for stage gold, so I feel very lucky.
02:55 He's at a crossroads, you know, he has the love for his brother, following Clyde, following
02:59 that exciting life, you know, big guns, fast cars, robbing banks, robbing stores, making
03:04 money and the love that he has for his wife and wanting to go on the straight and narrow.
03:10 He does attempt, no spoilers here, but he does attempt to try and go clean and straight
03:15 and just tries to take him on that religious path, but yeah, he loves them both and he's
03:21 constantly going to tug a war with himself and he's taught each of those.
03:25 Always described the show as an adrenaline rush.
03:30 I think it has a bit of everything.
03:33 You're on the edge of your seat, sometimes you're crying with laughter, sometimes you're
03:37 crying because you're heartbroken and I feel you go on a real journey, don't you?
03:43 Yeah, these are the icons of the Great Depression and, you know, as Kath says, it pulls on your
03:50 heart strings.
03:51 You've got to remember as well, it is a musical, but this is a play with music, very much so.
03:57 And yeah, it's gritty, it's thrilling, it's sexy.
