00:00 Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are officially divorced.
00:04 Six months after the pop star filed for divorce
00:07 from the real estate agent,
00:09 the Associated Press reports
00:10 that a Los Angeles Superior Court
00:12 has dissolved their three-year marriage as of March 19th.
00:16 According to court documents obtained by the AP,
00:19 the two separated more than a year ago,
00:21 and due to them not having children
00:23 or significant legal disputes,
00:25 the filing was able to move quickly
00:27 through the court system.
00:29 Under the agreement, which was decided upon in October,
00:32 Ariana will reportedly make a one-time payment
00:35 of $1,250,000 to Dalton with no future alimony,
00:40 give him half of the proceeds from their Los Angeles home,
00:44 and will pay up to $25,000 towards his attorney fees.
00:48 E! News has reached out to Ariana's rep for comment
00:51 and hasn't heard back.
00:52 As fans recall, Ariana and Dalton first sparked
00:55 romance rumors in early 2020,
00:58 when he appeared in her music video "Stuck With U,"
01:01 a collab she did with Justin Bieber.
01:04 The next year, the couple announced they tied the knot
01:06 in May of 2021 at her home in California.
01:10 At the time, a source told E! News,
01:12 "It was a beautiful day and very romantic.
01:15 "Everyone is happy for them."
01:17 Then after two years of marriage,
01:18 the pop star filed for divorce,
01:20 citing irreconcilable differences,
01:23 with Dalton submitting his own paperwork soon after.
01:26 And while neither have publicly addressed their separation,
01:29 Ariana's new album, "Eternal Sunshine,"
01:31 has fans wondering if this is a new thank you next
01:34 about her ex-husband.
01:36 Well, during her appearance on "The Zach Sane Show,"
01:39 Ariana breaks down the album track by track
01:42 and details how "I Wish I Hated You"
01:44 is one song she probably won't sing live
01:47 because of how emotional it makes her.
01:49 - There's a song that I,
01:51 sounded like you were crying while recording it.
01:56 - Probably was.
01:57 - "I Wish That I Hated You."
01:59 - Mm-hmm, yeah.
02:01 - What does that song mean to you?
02:03 - It's like, it's one of those that I,
02:07 I'm so glad that feeling is captured on this album,
02:12 but it's one that I won't listen to probably,
02:15 or sing live probably.
02:18 But I think it's like a very important color
02:19 to exist within the album because it's, yeah,
02:22 just an important piece of the puzzle to me.
02:25 And I'm happy to acknowledge it.
02:26 I'm happy to acknowledge the goodness.
02:28 I really am, and the efforts,
02:30 and that it just was not correct.
02:34 And I don't need to pretend that you're a monster
02:37 to make peace with this ending.
02:39 That's what that song is.
02:41 And it would be easier if you were,
02:42 but it's just, you know what I mean?
02:45 It can have not been right,
02:47 and that person can still be a good person.
02:50 And I think that's like a really important song to write.
02:52 - Why was it needed on the album?
02:54 By what part of the puzzle did it complete?
02:57 - Well, I think it completed the songs,
02:59 the family of breakup songs,
03:03 where I wrote from a more hurt or upset place.
03:08 And it's from a more aware and grieved place,
03:13 where it's like, oh, I can give credit,
03:21 and, you know, make peace with this,
03:23 and not carry that version of you
03:26 that I had when I was upset.
03:27 I don't need to carry that version.
03:31 Yeah. - That's beautiful.
03:32 It's a beautiful thing to come to terms with.
03:34 - Yeah, it's like grieving would be so much easier
03:37 if we hated a person.
03:39 It's like good riddance.
03:41 But no, capturing the complexity
03:44 of what happens if I don't is imperative, I think.
03:49 It's protective as well.
