00:00 I guess I have imposter syndrome just like many other women but I see it as a validation.
00:08 I really think that it's important that there are role models coming from different backgrounds,
00:16 not just celebrities but also journalists.
00:19 So I received the message on my Instagram and I was super shocked because when I was 11 years old,
00:26 I watched a documentary featuring one of the first influential women of the Philippines.
00:37 Those words stuck with me because I was inspired and I wanted to be like that.
00:43 So when I got that and I know of this recognition because last year I also know people who made the list.
00:52 So I was surprised and I felt like the 11-year-old me was successful.
01:01 For me, influence can be both good and bad and I think it comes with a responsibility.
01:09 How can you use your influence to make a positive change in society?
01:19 I think number one for me is that women cannot be leaders.
01:25 In 2022, I wrote a cover story for CNN Life about why Filipinos do not value women leaders.
01:33 Until now, I think that's the case because college students, most of them are women.
01:41 There are more college graduates who are women and there are more business graduates who are women.
01:46 But when they get into the workforce, when they enter business, government, those in the leadership positions are still predominantly men.
01:57 So that is something that I think we need to address.
02:00 Why are there not much women leaders? Why are they not able to get leadership positions?
