00:01:32 Sunday in Eastern our church we're in a series and so I know you've heard the
00:01:35 Easter story so many times sometimes I I elect to go into a different direction
00:01:41 let me say it for the for the people who the resurrection season I know we have
00:01:49 to go in a different direction because you've heard the story so many times but
00:01:52 I read the story again and we're gonna talk about it this year
00:02:00 this marks the triumphant entry of Jesus into the city this is one of my favorite
00:02:09 scriptures in the Bible because we find out something here that we only assumed
00:02:18 until we get to John chapter 12 are you with me so far John chapter 12 verse 12
00:02:25 the Bible says on the next day much people that were come to the feast when
00:02:32 they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem what feast the Passover feast
00:02:39 what's the Passover feast the Passover feast is when they will come together
00:02:43 every year to celebrate the fact that when they were in Egypt they put blood
00:02:49 on the doorpost and the death angel passed over anybody who had the blood on
00:02:55 the doorpost I just want to let you know I ain't preaching yet but the only reason
00:02:59 why you still here is because the blood
00:03:02 you know how much stuff the devil had planned for you it just it just kept
00:03:11 so they took branches of palm trees and went forth to meet him and cried Hosanna
00:03:21 for the first time in your life I want you listen I want you to segregate this
00:03:27 scripture from what you come next from what you know comes next because most
00:03:30 people can't read this without yeah they said Hosanna Hosanna this week but next
00:03:34 week they're gonna be saying crucify him I want you to stay in this week the
00:03:42 problem with most of us is we live either in the future or the past and the
00:03:48 feeling of blissfulness and happiness only exists in the present you'll never
00:03:54 be happy about where you came from you'll never be satisfied about where
00:03:58 you're going because you don't know where it is you have to be in the
00:04:01 present and that's where Jesus is because he's a very present help
00:04:06 touch the name say get your mind off your bills get your mind off your boo
00:04:14 get your mind in this room I heard somebody said Lord is hard they took
00:04:24 palm branches and cried Hosanna blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the
00:04:29 name of the Lord hmm thank you Jesus and Jesus when he had found

00:05:06 new international version when he found a young donkey and it was so tempting I
00:05:17 wanted to say it so bad but you know people take that second and put it on
00:05:21 YouTube say he was cussing in the pulpit you're going to hell as it is written
00:05:32 fear not daughter of Zion behold thy King cometh sitting on a donkey
00:05:39 I'm getting disciplined in my old age these things understood not his disciples
00:05:54 at first but when Jesus was glorified then remembered they that these things
00:06:00 were written of him and that they had done these things unto him the people
00:06:04 therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the grave and
00:06:12 raised him from the dead bear record just a few more verses for this cause
00:06:18 the people also met him that they heard that he had done this miracle the
00:06:26 Pharisees therefore said among themselves perceive ye how ye will
00:06:32 prevail nothing listen they finally recognized that after everything they
00:06:40 tried to do to keep him from reaching his destiny they finally realized in the
00:06:46 C clause of the 19th verse that the world had gone after him everything they
00:06:54 tried to do to prevent them from believing in him had failed and finally
00:07:02 they recognized that the world had gone after him and the Bible says it is
00:07:11 written and so it is this is what the Lord told me to talk about today
00:07:18 sometimes God comes in a form you don't recognize and you will miss him because
00:07:33 he messes up your routine God told me to tell you don't forget he's the
00:07:42 undercover boss that's what I want to talk about today he's the undercover
00:07:50 boss you may be seated in the presence of the Lord I don't want to insult your
00:07:59 intelligence how many of you all have seen the show well raise your hand if
00:08:04 you've never seen the show I must introduce it then there's a television
00:08:13 show in fact one of our local billionaires mr. Fertitta who owns the
00:08:19 Rockets was actually on this show and he had a another show about being a
00:08:27 billionaire but this this is a show where corporate CEOs go undercover and
00:08:38 they put on bad wigs and mustaches and you can tell that they really don't fit
00:08:49 because even though they act and poor they rich so you you got your legs
00:08:54 crossed like you got 12 million dollars in your pocket acting like you're a
00:08:58 janitor it doesn't always work but but but it's easy to judge it from the
00:09:06 television because when you're in the moment it seems to work every time where
00:09:12 the owner of the company will dress up like an employee insert himself in the
00:09:20 everyday life of the company to see what his employees are actually experiencing
00:09:30 for working for him or her and and they come up and they stay in hotel rooms and
00:09:41 they have to drive themselves and they have to walk to work because they have
00:09:45 to do everything they can to keep the disguise I've seen it a million times
00:09:52 and at the end of the show you're gonna cry because once they get in there and
00:10:00 find out how hard it was to be them they end the show by doing things like paying
00:10:06 off loans and giving college tuitions giving them grants some of them get
00:10:13 promoted and they go from being ordinary individuals working behind a cashier to
00:10:20 sometimes having shares in the company could you imagine what would happen if
00:10:26 you went to work tomorrow and you realize that the entire thing was an
00:10:33 exercise only to set you up to be in a position tomorrow that you were not in
00:10:40 yesterday what would you do if you walked into work tomorrow and they said
00:10:47 sir ma'am thank you for the last six years of service we recognize it we want
00:10:53 to give you a million dollar endowment for oh
00:11:03 it could happen it could happen Jesus is the ultimate undercover boss because
00:11:15 one day he looked over the banister of heaven and saw that his children were in
00:11:24 trouble and so he took his godness and hid it in a disguise called human flesh
00:11:35 put himself in the womb of a woman he created stayed there nine months so that
00:11:46 we would not know it was him was born and went and laid in a manger a feeding
00:11:56 trough an animal's food bin so that we would see that he actually was poor
00:12:07 circumcised on the eighth day had a mother and father who were not even
00:12:15 married born of a virgin wrapped in swaddling clothes also that we would not
00:12:26 know it was him yet he had already written in the beginning was the word
00:12:31 and the word y'all y'all like Bible and the word was God verse 12 says and he
00:12:42 tabernacled among us that means that he came to his own and his own received him
00:12:51 not because he was a king coming to the earth but had he come to earth as king
00:13:01 he would have messed up the experiment so he had to become man to understand
00:13:08 what pain feels like to understand what betrayal feels like to understand what
00:13:17 it means to cry to lose loved ones to have ridicule so he was the undercover
00:13:25 boss he became man so that he could redeem man because Genesis says that
00:13:33 seed must be get after its own kind which means that when it came time to
00:13:41 redeem us he could not redeem us in spirit form because spirit cannot redeem
00:13:47 flesh so in order for him to redeem us he had to become seed of the same kind
00:13:55 so he had to become flesh because only flesh could die for flesh are y'all
00:14:01 still with me so here is the God of the universe hiding in a human outfit
00:14:09 walking around dying yet is the life walking around hungry while he's bread
00:14:21 walking around thirsty while he's water
00:14:27 crying because he's depressed while being the mighty counselor life filled
00:14:36 with hail simultaneously he's the prince of peace look at God hiding in human
00:14:48 flesh God walking in plain sight crying with the power to wipe tears away are
00:15:00 you listening to me this is the God of the scripture who has hid himself in
00:15:09 human clothes to find out what our experience is like but he really never
00:15:17 liked attention I can prove it he was born we hear about him on the eighth day
00:15:26 then he disappears we hear that Herod wants to kill him at two but we don't
00:15:34 hear anything else by the time we see him it's a decade later he's 12 years
00:15:37 old his mother and father walk into the custom of the feast they get a few days
00:15:43 journey and find out that they've left him and they say oh where's Jesus they
00:15:46 go back and walk back they find this boy in the room teaching the doctors and the
00:15:52 lawyers and they his mama said to him boy when we move you move he said woman
00:15:57 didn't you know I must be about my father's business the only God the only
00:16:03 boy who can talk back to his mama and live
00:16:07 said wish he not I must be about my father's business that was at 12 guess
00:16:19 what he does disappears again we don't see Jesus for another 18 years the next
00:16:24 time we see him he's 30 years old and he's turning water in the wine looks
00:16:29 like it's about to be a good God in and out out and in disappears reappears why
00:16:39 because all throughout Scripture God Jesus in the flesh although he wanted to
00:16:47 be accepted he didn't want anybody to know who he was remember at his first
00:16:53 miracle his mother said turn the water in the wine she says my time come on
00:17:00 y'all has not yet come because watch this you can have a position and it's
00:17:07 still not be your time when David was anointed King he was sent back into the
00:17:17 field because you can have the oil and it still not be your moment you have to
00:17:23 learn the difference between when it's your title and when it's your time and
00:17:29 just because you have a title doesn't mean it's your time and just because
00:17:33 it's your time doesn't mean you're gonna have a title you gotta wait until the
00:17:38 Lord says it's your time so he says my hour has not yet come he reappears at 30
00:17:49 in full-time ministry and then he retreats he retreats into the wilderness
00:17:55 he goes and he prays and gardens with nobody's there in fact the Bible says
00:18:00 they'd he would climb up to the top of the mountain he had 12 disciples he
00:18:02 would leave nine at the bottom and only take three to the top because he was not
00:18:12 wanting to be seen I'm building the case I just want y'all to walk with me just I
00:18:18 mean he he heals people and then says don't tell nobody who did it he didn't
00:18:25 seek public attention in other words Jesus wasn't for the streets no and I
00:18:32 got by it's in the Bible I promise you it's in the Bible go to Matthew 12 and
00:18:36 19 when you get home and it says he would not cry out nor will anyone hear
00:18:41 his voice in the streets because Jesus wasn't for the streets he had a private
00:18:47 ministry but then our text which is my favorite he all of a sudden comes out
00:18:53 and seems to contradict what he has done for the first 33 years he has hidden
00:18:59 human flesh he doesn't want anybody to know what he is he tells people who he
00:19:03 heals don't tell anybody he retreats and goes back in the gardens goes back in
00:19:08 the mountains and all of a sudden at age 33 he starts to ask my mama say start to
00:19:14 smell himself and starts to fill his britches and then all of a sudden he
00:19:18 says here I'm I and I want everybody to know it I want everybody to know it it
00:19:24 is my time to do public ministry and his agent which is his father must have done
00:19:30 a great job at marketing because the Bible says that when he gets to the
00:19:33 concert he's at a sold-out crowd the click rate and the pass-through rate
00:19:40 must have been amazing he must have had an amazing Facebook social media
00:19:44 campaign he must have used YouTube amazingly because when he got to the
00:19:49 place where he's about to reveal himself it's people everywhere ready to watch
00:19:56 it and the Bible says that when he shows up the people were in big numbers and
00:20:03 everybody was happy that he came except for a small group the Pharisees and the
00:20:14 Sadducees can I tell you it doesn't matter how good you are it doesn't matter
00:20:20 how good you treat people it doesn't matter how much you do for people there
00:20:26 will always be somebody who don't like you for some reason or the other
00:20:33 and Jesus knew this which is why he would retreat because sometimes not
00:20:43 being accepted makes you put your gift back on the shelf I know most of y'all
00:20:51 you so used to everybody liking you but I'm talking to the few people who want
00:20:55 to just like I don't know why they keep looking at me like that I don't I don't
00:20:59 know why I came in doing the best I could I came in with an open heart but
00:21:04 for some reason they got some kind of disdain for me anybody ever walked in
00:21:08 the environment you ain't did nothing nobody you haven't heard anybody you
00:21:11 haven't said anything anybody but you walk in and there is this cloud you got
00:21:15 to understand that most of you all want to be liked for who you are but what you
00:21:23 must understand is that your gift is a threat to the system that was there
00:21:30 before you arrived it is not you they don't like it's your gift
00:21:39 why because your gift will undo the system I don't know who I'm talking to
00:21:48 in here today to whom much is given much is required I want to call you out of
00:21:55 your complaining spirit about who don't like you because it ain't nothing but a
00:22:00 small group you're gonna miss the crowd complaining about the Pharisees you got
00:22:11 20 people on your row right now 19 of them like you you gonna go home talking
00:22:14 about the one that was looking at you funny you got 19 opportunities to scale
00:22:18 your business 19 opportunities to make a new friend 19 opportunities to have
00:22:23 somebody who will ride and die with you and you don't go to dinner after church
00:22:26 complaining about the one I want you to learn how to ignore people who don't
00:22:31 like you I want you to learn how to pick yourself up and continue to operate in
00:22:37 your gift do me a favor high-five your neighbor say if you like me good if you
00:22:44 don't I'm fine because I used to not know you and I made it then too
00:22:53 you
00:22:55 they hated Jesus because they would not follow them I'm trying to help somebody
00:23:09 in here this ought to get all that depression and all of that stuff you got
00:23:13 to write in the book about how you feel and your emotions shut your mouth and
00:23:18 recognize that that's how gifted people operate can I tell you why your enemies
00:23:27 hate you cuz nobody else does are you miss what I just said your enemies hate
00:23:36 you because everybody didn't start hating you when they started hating you
00:23:41 so they hate you because they could not convince other people that you are the
00:23:45 person that they said you were
00:23:49 some people don't like you because they can't get other people not to like you
00:23:58 they hate you because everybody don't see you the way they see you now I will
00:24:07 admit is there anybody here there's some people in your life that shouldn't like
00:24:10 you yeah you shouldn't like me because I didn't let you manipulate me any longer
00:24:17 you you shouldn't like me because I did cuss you out you shouldn't like me
00:24:21 because I told you to go to hell you shouldn't like me because when I found
00:24:24 out that we wasn't on the same level I made an executive decision you shouldn't
00:24:29 like me but you weak-minded folk who let somebody else's problem become your
00:24:35 problem and now you don't like somebody that you don't have a problem with slap
00:24:44 somebody say I made up my own mind
00:24:48 you don't you don't let nobody make you miss out on the blessing of a person
00:24:56 because they missed out on the blessing of a person and they knew me when I was
00:25:02 in a different season but the season I'm in right now I'm gonna bless anybody who
00:25:07 I touch in the season I'm in right now I'm gonna help anybody I know
00:25:13 I wonder why God would hide and then say here I am I wonder why he would go 33
00:25:32 years being inconspicuous and then come riding into the city on the that's like
00:25:40 I want to put it that's like that's like somebody driving down the street with
00:25:45 15s in the trunk y'all y'all know what I'm talking about
00:25:49 windows down 20 degrees outside but they just want you to know they coming do
00:25:57 they still do that I know when I was growing up everybody had trunks speakers
00:26:02 in a trunk do they still do that
00:26:08 trunk just rattling the time had come at last when Christ was to die for the
00:26:28 sins of the world the time had come when the Passover lamb must be slain the time
00:26:37 had come when the true blood atonement was to be shared the time had come when
00:26:42 the Messiah was to be cut off according to the prophecy of Daniel chapter 9 the
00:26:46 time had come for the way behind the holies of holies to be revealed the time
00:26:56 had come for the real high priest to reveal himself knowing all of this we
00:27:01 can now discern why Jesus would finally show himself acts 26 and verse 26 says
00:27:06 for the king knows about these things and I'm speaking freely I don't think
00:27:12 any of these things escaped his notice watch this for this was not done in a
00:27:18 corner thank you Jesus for the Word of God see what Jesus was about to do
00:27:27 needed to be done on display and God said to him son your time of doing your
00:27:36 work in the corner is over I'm about to put you on display oh y'all about to
00:27:43 miss what I'm about y'all about to miss it he died at a time where the biggest
00:27:50 feast of the year was happening he died when the city's population of Jerusalem
00:27:57 went from 100,000 to 1 million because everybody had to come in for the feast
00:28:03 and God says your days of working in the dark are over your days of operating in
00:28:10 a corner it's over you're not shouting because you're thinking about Jesus here
00:28:15 is the revelation God says for all of the hell that you have been through for
00:28:21 all of the stuff that you have been doing God says I'm about to bring you
00:28:25 out of the corner and I'm about to put you on front Street and I'm about to
00:28:31 display your gift from the world I want you to high-five three people say they
00:28:36 about to find out who I am I've been inconspicuous all of my life but I'm
00:28:43 about to come out of hiding I'm bringing my gifts I'm bringing my
00:28:47 anointing I'm bringing my swag shout I'm coming out of the corner I'm coming
00:28:54 because I got a business to build I got lives to impact I got stuff that has to
00:29:00 be done it's time for you listen to be known
00:29:08 you miss what I just said and some of y'all are gonna mess up because you're
00:29:15 gonna self-sabotage you go self-sabotage I don't want nobody to know it's me oh
00:29:23 this is this is what we say this is what we say you know I don't want to I don't
00:29:28 want them to see me coming I just I just want to get my coins and then I just
00:29:33 want to go home talk to me and especially church folk because we don't
00:29:42 we think that marketing ourselves is pride but Jesus was the best marketer
00:29:50 come on now y'all don't want to hear y'all don't want to hear me he's such a
00:29:54 great mark marketer that you can't be a Christian without being Christians he
00:29:59 put his name on the brand here's the problem with church folk we want to
00:30:08 always be incognito and inconspicuous
00:30:19 when our whole purpose is to get the gospel around the world how you gonna
00:30:24 witness if nobody know you the reason why Jesus hasn't come back right now is
00:30:36 because there are people in the world who don't know him God says it's time
00:30:42 for you to come out of the corner it's time for you to stop baking those
00:30:47 cookies in your kitchen and go rent you a space and start distributing them all
00:30:51 over the state all over the come on talk to me now I know I ain't talking
00:30:56 everybody and if I'm not talking to you you stay small and inconspicuous like
00:30:59 you want to but if I'm talking to anybody who know you got something big
00:31:02 inside of you and you know that you can't be contained I want to see the
00:31:06 people who got big dreams I want to see the people who are ready to come out of
00:31:10 the corner and say here I am with my flaws with my mistakes with my bad
00:31:15 business acumen I'm out here because God has called me I need everybody to
00:31:19 high-five people who say come out of the corner
00:31:23 I want nobody to think I'm too much I want to be seeming like I'm doing too
00:31:34 much I don't want nobody think I'm doing too much shut your mouth and do a lot
00:31:38 come out and do a lot I'm doing too much I'm doing a whole lot and when I do a
00:31:44 whole lot I'm gonna help a whole lot here I am I'm here to do a lot
00:31:50 tell somebody to get out of that corner say it again get out of that corner you
00:32:03 just hide just I just love Jesus loving Jesus on me your back gotta be bent
00:32:14 yes you ain't humble cuz you walk like you humble because of the position of
00:32:21 your heart and by the way I'm about to hurt somebody's feelings there was a
00:32:26 difference between humility and false humility some of y'all ain't humble you
00:32:32 just know how to act
00:32:42 get out of the corner market your business get online and let us know you
00:32:52 exist spend some money on the marketing
00:33:01 asking God to bless your business is not a market strategy stop buying clothes
00:33:13 and buy some ass
00:33:17 Lord have mercy y'all y'all all going to hell

00:33:54 get you some geo-targeting find out your numbers find out who's interested in
00:34:02 your product the church needs some millionaires the church needs some
00:34:08 people who are billionaires the church needs some people who scale on the large
00:34:12 level every Christian business ain't gotta stay small to be godly it's
00:34:22 amazing in the world that when they build skyscrapers billionaires can come
00:34:26 and put their name on the building and subsidize it in the church we got to do
00:34:29 it a quarter at a time because we want to just do business in the corner this
00:34:35 is my mama recipe I don't cook for people I just I just cook for my family
00:34:44 because I don't we need your gift in the marketplace
00:34:52 doesn't my say come out of the corner watch this watch this one way to define
00:35:00 the word corner one of the ways to define the word corner is angle now if
00:35:09 there is one thing that the modern woman has learned to do is to find her angle
00:35:21 not all the women here who know your angle make some noise

00:38:41 everybody around you don't know you he says who do men say that I am he said
00:38:46 some people say you're John the Baptist some say you are Elias or Elijah or one
00:38:53 of the other prophets he says I don't care what they say
00:38:58 who do you say that I am and Peter said thou art the Christ the son of the
00:39:10 Living God let me tell you something whenever you have the courage to show up
00:39:14 as your authentic self that's when people will follow you but as long as
00:39:25 they think you might be John or you might be Elijah or you might be
00:39:29 something else then they are hesitant
00:39:33 be you now here is the problem in this new age we brag about being ourself
00:39:44 we say stuff at least at least I'm me but see God didn't create you to be you
00:39:51 for you to stay you because the Bible says that Nicodemus says how can a man
00:39:56 be born when he's old marvel not ye must be born again so then there has to be a
00:40:03 transformation from who you are to who you should become
00:40:12 being you ain't the goal becoming who you should be is the goal Jesus said I
00:40:23 came to seek and save that which was lost so that was his goal his goal was
00:40:29 to come and save until it was time he did not reveal himself he did not reveal
00:40:38 himself until it was a week before he had to die could you imagine holding in
00:40:49 what he thought for 33 years could you imagine when he was on the playground
00:40:56 and somebody pushed him so I need you to think of it like this he's 12 years old
00:41:02 he's on the playground in middle school Kip pushes him on the ground he had to
00:41:06 he was gonna call a legion of agents to kill him but he said John Terry's you
00:41:14 don't even know what I could do to you
00:41:17 could you imagine when Mary put him in the bathtub he wanted to get up and walk
00:41:23 on the water but he had to wait until
00:41:26 y'all y'all don't even see when you read the Bible you gotta let your mind work

00:41:35 can walk on water
00:41:38 what he does is because it wasn't time for him to reveal himself listen listen
00:41:53 this is gonna hurt but it's gonna help are y'all ready he suffered willingly
00:42:04 yeah man you heard me you probably the only one that hurt me he hurt on purpose
00:42:16 he could do something about the pain but he didn't because he knew he must need
00:42:28 suffer the cross and our new society wants to do anything not to suffer y'all

00:42:47 anytime you feel pain you go back to your corner and so the devil knows since
00:42:56 you can't reach destiny in the corner he just keeps sending pain and every time
00:43:03 you hurt you back up but Paul said I press toward the mark for the prize of
00:43:09 the I want to call you out of your cycle of retreating when you are
00:43:14 misunderstood and I want you to go follow it no matter what it's not three
00:43:20 people say go forward go forward go forward

00:43:31 stop letting pain and misunderstandings make you retreat you are too gifted to
00:43:45 back up every time your feelings get hurt how many y'all do that I'm just

00:44:20 problems but I'm out here I'm still struggling but I'm out here my money

00:45:44 reiteration of that form that that if I believe that whatever size we increase
00:45:49 this building to God will fill it I believe that
00:45:56 God increased it I said people I was like how did the church grow what's the
00:46:01 strategy right what did you do with the leaders what did you do and I used to
00:46:05 always think about what did I do I knew what I was doing I knew what God had
00:46:09 told me to do but but I didn't know how to explain it but but now I know how to
00:46:13 help people grow their businesses in their churches let me tell you how you
00:46:19 do it be broken I realize now that I wasn't broken enough at 28 to have 20,000
00:46:30 people come so God had to keep breaking me so there was enough for me to go
00:46:35 around the reason why most of y'all don't grow is because you don't want to
00:46:38 suffer for it

01:15:48 Jesus couldn't be nailed to a cross somewhere in the corner
01:15:50 where nobody could see it.
01:15:51 He was on Calvary where everybody could see it.
01:15:54 They mocked him.
01:15:58 They put a sign on his cross
01:16:01 that he thinks he's the King of the Jews.
01:16:03 The entire time he had the power to stop it all.
01:16:07 On one occasion he said, "God, if it's your will,
01:16:11 "let this bitter cup pass me by."
01:16:15 He didn't get an answer.
01:16:16 He said, "Okay, nevertheless."
