00:00 He called and said, "The house is gone."
00:02 Still fresh in the memory of Abby Hughes
00:05 how the Dream House has been a children's art for 40 years
00:09 disappeared just like that in Badain Bah Besar
00:12 which happened in a blink of an eye when it rained heavily on December 18, two years ago.
00:19 So at that time, at 4 or 5 o'clock, I was here at the scene.
00:25 I wanted to see people putting up wallpapers
00:29 but it was raining heavily that afternoon.
00:32 I happened to get a call from my Ustaz to go to Bukit Kapar.
00:37 So I went out.
00:39 I went out and the boy who was looking after the house and the contractor called.
00:44 He said, "The water has entered the house."
00:46 I told my friend, "We're out of wallpapers. It's gone."
00:52 "But we want to go there right away."
00:54 He said, "Tomorrow."
00:55 I went there and arrived at Kapar.
00:57 He called and said, "The house is gone."
01:00 I only came to see it the next day.
01:04 The house was gone.
01:05 There was no wallpaper.
01:07 Another victim of the flood in Hululangat,
01:11 Rohana Mahfuz, 79 years old,
01:14 also recounted her bad experience on the day of the incident.
01:18 The house is on the riverbank.
01:20 In the middle of the river, there was a loud noise.
01:24 I wanted to get in the car.
01:26 I was on the road.
01:28 If I got in, I wouldn't have gotten there.
01:30 For a moment, the water entered the house.
01:33 When the water entered the house,
01:36 I looked outside and the car was full of water.
01:38 I thought, "This can't be."
01:40 For the businessman Nasruddin Nur, 73 years old,
01:45 this incident was the first time in his life.
01:49 It's like a sea.
01:52 I went there and saw the water coming.
01:54 I told the children to prepare all the necessary things
02:00 and get in the car.
02:02 This is not a flood.
02:04 This is a gift from God.
02:06 FMT has previously reported the suffering of the Hululangat residents
02:10 who were affected by the large flood that struck at the end of 2021.
02:18 Despite the damage from the disaster still left scars,
02:22 but the ideal of Fitri this time brings a thousand hopes to them.
02:28 According to Ebi, the aid of cash received from the public
02:34 was used to build a surau for the public
02:38 after receiving help from the government,
02:42 a house worth RM56,000.
02:46 The government has given me this house.
02:48 I thought the money was there.
02:50 I built a surau.
02:52 The purpose of the surau is not just for us.
02:54 If people come here,
02:56 for example, for tourists,
02:58 it's okay.
03:00 For people who go to the farm,
03:02 or want to rest in the rain,
03:04 it's okay.
03:06 For Rohana, the donation of donors and the public
03:08 for the construction of the new land
03:10 has been used properly.
03:14 I came in on January 1, 2023.
03:18 I've been living in this house for about a year and two months.
03:22 This is the result of people's donations.
03:24 If it wasn't for people's donations,
03:26 I wouldn't have this house.
03:28 When Allah took it, He changed it back.
03:32 That's His way, right?
03:34 Everyone needs a house, right?
03:36 So our hearts feel a little better.
03:38 But it's not as happy as before.
03:42 But the house remains in my memory.
