We speak to people on the streets of Manchester and ask them about Reform UK and why they think they’re proving to be a popular political party.

00:00 As a traditional Tory voter, I would consider maybe switching over to them.
00:06 Don't know too much about them, I'd have to do a bit of research, but I do know that they are doing quite well in the polls.
00:11 I think they're trying to restore conservative traditional values.
00:14 I think my general opinion of it is we're a two-party state.
00:17 That's a fact, we're a two-party state, so why can't we have a third option?
00:21 So I think that's probably the reason why I might vote for reform, purely for a third option.
00:26 I think they're doing OK now, A, because there is not a general election actually happening,
00:33 and people are looking for an alternative to make a protest vote.
00:37 Whereas come a general election, I would suspect people might revert more to their traditional voting habits.
00:46 So people on the right of politics aren't going to vote socialist,
00:50 but they don't want to vote for the current government because they want to protest about the state the country is in,
00:58 and they blame the government for that.
