Canned Commonwealth Games cost Victoria more than $589 million, report finds

The Victorian Auditor-General's Office has found the abandoned Commonwealth Games cost the state more than $589 million. The report also found the government's stated cost estimate to hold the Games of $6.9 billion was "overstated and not transparent".
