00:02 - Hello everyone, Neil Tappan here from Golf Monthly
00:06 and welcome to this video on how to arrange your golf bag.
00:09 Now, on the floor in front of me,
00:10 I've got everything I'd want to carry with me today
00:13 out on the golf course,
00:14 and I'm gonna put it all in the bag
00:15 in the order that I would have it.
00:17 And I've found that over the years,
00:18 this gives me the best access to everything I need
00:20 while I'm out on the golf course.
00:21 I'm gonna start with my putter and my wedges.
00:24 Now, I have a four-way divider in my golf bag,
00:27 which makes this a slightly easier process
00:29 than if I had more than that.
00:31 And I put all of my wedges in the putter
00:32 in the bottom well, which is quite big.
00:35 But you're only allowed to carry 14 clubs.
00:37 I've got one too many wedges.
00:38 I've got a wedge that I use to practice,
00:39 so I'm gonna leave that behind.
00:42 Next one is my mid-iron, so nine, eight, and seven.
00:46 They go in the next compartment.
00:49 Four, five, and six in here.
00:53 And then my woods, all of my graphite-shafted clubs
00:56 go in at the top end of the bag.
00:58 And that just orders the bag nicely
01:00 so that when I'm searching for a nine-iron,
01:01 I'm not looking endlessly.
01:02 I know roughly where it's gonna be
01:04 before I even look at my bag.
01:05 So it just makes getting around the golf course
01:07 that bit quicker and easier.
01:09 Next up, I'm gonna look at golf gloves.
01:11 So I put the golf gloves in this flat pocket
01:16 on the side of the bag here.
01:18 This means that I can keep my gloves nice and flat
01:21 so they don't sort of crease up too much.
01:23 I'd also carry a couple of wet-weather gloves.
01:26 They come in pairs, right and left.
01:27 It means that when you're playing in bad weather,
01:30 they offer excellent traction.
01:31 So I'd also carry those and I put those in that same pocket
01:35 by the side of the bag there.
01:36 Next one, golf balls.
01:38 So I use, for golf balls,
01:40 I use the big pocket at the bottom of the bag here.
01:43 I tend to carry quite a few golf balls with me.
01:45 That says quite a lot about my game.
01:47 I am prone to losing the odd one or two,
01:49 so I like the big pocket for golf balls.
01:52 And in that pocket, I would also store sunglasses
01:57 and sun cream, so they both go in there.
01:59 Next up, some of the really important items
02:03 that you need to carry,
02:03 you need to have a sort of consistent access to.
02:06 So things like ball marker, T-pegs, sharpie,
02:10 pitch mark repair, which is something everybody should carry,
02:14 and plasters, and I would put them all
02:17 in this smaller pocket at the top of the bag.
02:19 So the bigger pocket for golf balls,
02:20 the smaller pocket for the smaller items,
02:23 they all go in there.
02:24 And after I've played a round of golf,
02:25 I take all my T's out of my pocket
02:27 and I put them in that pocket.
02:28 It's something worth remembering
02:29 because there's nothing worse than constantly having T's
02:32 in your pocket when you're not playing golf.
02:34 Next up, water bottle on the side of the bag here.
02:37 Now, of course, there are going to be some bigger items
02:41 that you're going to want to carry with you
02:42 in case the weather changes during a round of golf today.
02:45 The weather is fairly chilly, changeable,
02:48 so I'm carrying a gilet.
02:50 I also always carry a bucket hat,
02:52 so I tend to play golf in glasses.
02:54 And when it does rain,
02:55 having that protection from your glasses is really important.
02:58 Other golfers who wear glasses will know.
03:01 I'll put the gilet that goes in the big pocket here.
03:05 Obviously, if it is going to rain,
03:07 that's where your waterproofs are going to go.
03:10 Next up is this smaller pocket here,
03:12 which is for your valuables.
03:13 So I've got my phone and my wallet here.
03:14 They'll both slide in here,
03:15 and you'll know it's the valuables pocket
03:17 because usually it's got a slightly softer lining
03:19 to that pocket.
03:21 And finally, the last two items are towel
03:24 and range finder.
03:25 So my towel clips on to this clip here
03:29 at the top of the bag, as does the range finder,
03:33 which means that I've got good access
03:36 to both of those things,
03:37 which I'm going to be using pretty much on every hole.
03:40 So that's it.
03:41 That's how I would organize my golf bag
03:44 before I go out and play.
