00:00 Conor McGregor joined Sports Illustrated to talk about his new film Roadhouse, which is available for streaming on Prime Video on March 21st.
00:07 How excited are you for fans to see this version of Roadhouse?
00:10 Very excited, you know, a lot of work went into it, a lot of fun also,
00:14 but you know a lot of focused work and you know, we're very excited to see how the public responds to it.
00:19 We know it's gonna be, well, we hope it's gonna be great and we're excited about it for sure.
00:22 What's more likely, us seeing you in another movie after this or seeing you back in the Octagon with UFC?
00:28 Yeah, no, I have not, you know, I've not been in discussions with anyone else about any other movie.
00:32 I'm in discussions with the UFC looking for a date.
00:35 There's a date, you know, potentially on the horizon and I'm hoping for that.
00:40 Soon as the promotional work for Roadhouse wraps, as soon as St. Patrick's Day wraps,
00:46 the Max in the gym and you know, you know, there we go.
00:50 So I'm hoping soon, I'm hoping fight before movie for sure.
00:53 And I tell you what, fighting is easier than making a movie. Making a movie is hard.
00:58 My body was sore after the movie, after making the movie than any fight.
01:02 So that's, that's one for you, which I was surprised by that to be honest.
01:06 There's a fighting scene between you and Jake Gyllenhaal. In your humble opinion, what's better?
01:11 Your acting or his fighting ability?
01:14 I would say his fighting ability.
01:16 You know, I said, I said this earlier, I feel like I'm show business. I'm not much of an actor.
01:20 You know, I'm learning the craft. I had a great crew of people, a great team of people,
01:24 Lena George and Nancy Banks, two great ladies who helped me.
01:29 And they were on my case. I had homework to do. I couldn't, I couldn't miss it.
01:33 You know, they were showing up at my house and everything.
01:35 To make sure, Nate and Nancy was amazing.
01:37 But they helped me very much so. But I'm still very, very much a rookie at this.
01:42 Jake is a consummate professional.
01:44 And he's a big boy as well, a big strong, big strong lad too.
01:47 So we had a good tussle and I was impressed.
01:50 We helped each other for sure on this set.
01:51 What do you hope people take away from this film when they watch it?
01:55 You know, I just hope that they have a good time.
01:57 You know, that's really what it's for. I mean, listen, there's...
01:59 We all got our things in our lives. There's a lot going on.
02:03 And this is, this is like a tribute back to that time when you just, you know, you
02:09 watch the movie, have popcorn and just like, it's a party.
02:12 That's really what it is. It's a great time.
02:15 It's a beautiful escape.
02:16 Absolutely.
02:16 A beautiful escape.
02:17 Yeah, I think it's, I just hope people go into it with that mentality and they just
02:22 come out feeling like they just had a great time and they're, you know, ready to continue
02:26 the party.
02:26 Yeah, that's well said. And that's how I feel.
02:29 That's how I felt when I watched it.
02:32 I think the visuals were unreal. I thought the soundtrack was unreal.
02:35 I thought everyone's acting was phenomenal.
02:37 And I thought the fight scenes were fight scenes I've never seen before.
02:40 I've never seen that type of impact and that type of emotion in a movie before.
02:43 So to have all of those things combined in such a beautiful location and with the stars
02:48 that we had involved, I think it's going to be, I think it's a winner for sure.
