From the winners, to the losers, to the ‘fits, falls and performances, it’s time for your Oscar’s round-up. The 96th Academy Awards took place on March 10th at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Unsurprisingly, it was the biopic detailing the creation of the atomic bomb, Oppenheimer, which swept up some of the biggest awards of the night. The blockbuster took home seven awards in total, including for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor, which was awarded to Cillian Murphy.

01:38 Now, you might have noticed that plenty of those in attendance wore small red badges
01:43 at the ceremony, Billie Eilish, Mark Ruffalo and Rami Youssef included. These glossy badges
01:50 showed a hand with a black heart. The red pins were distributed by Artists for Ceasefire.
01:56 Artists for Ceasefire said in a press release that, quote, "The pin symbolises collective
02:02 support for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the release of all the hostages and for the
02:08 urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza."
02:11 Now, whilst the majority of the awards went without a hitch, there were still a handful
02:17 of slippy moments. One includes when social media star Liza Koshy slipped and fell on
02:23 the red carpet, but she managed to salvage it in quick succession. Then came when movie
02:29 legend Al Pacino slipped up. He caused slight confusion when announcing the Best Picture
02:35 winner. This happened when he called out Oppenheimer's name without announcing the full list of nominees
02:40 first.
02:41 But it was perhaps Ryan Gosling's performance which stole the show. Performing Barbie's
02:46 iconic song "I'm Just Ken", Gosling was backed by an array of dancers in a performance
02:52 which seemed to reference Marilyn Monroe's iconic performance of "Diamonds Are A Girl's
02:57 Best Friend" in the 1953 film "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes".
