00:04 Thank you, Kate, and thank you everyone for coming along today for this momentous occasion.
00:10 I'd like to congratulate Lisa Benstett on the award of this three-year grant,
00:17 which will do much to connect people in a variety of ways,
00:22 address social issues, including the vaccination of children,
00:26 contributing to better understanding and improving good relationships between people.
00:35 I have had the pleasure to meet so many of you in this room over the last year,
00:42 and you have all been so welcoming and so friendly to both myself and Ian,
00:48 and we have had an absolutely amazing time at all of your events,
00:54 with such laughter and lots of smiles, and yes, amazing food.
01:00 So I'd like to thank you very much for inviting us along to all of those events.
01:05 We very much look forward to hearing about the other events that are now coming up
01:12 over the next few months and years, and believe me, if we hear about them, we will be there.

01:22 So really, I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for everything that you all do
01:28 for Exeter and the wider community.
01:31 Ian will laugh now, because as I keep saying in a lot of my speeches, as a nurse,
01:37 I know that the contribution within the NHS of members of communities from around the world
01:45 and with outpatient individuals, the NHS and our local health service would not run
01:51 and you do an outstanding job in that regard.
01:55 And those of you who don't work in that sector also do an outstanding job in other sectors
02:01 to contribute to our economy and our society.
02:05 I am very proud of Exeter, as everyone knows, and I am very proud of the fact that it's becoming
02:11 more diverse. It's always been a community in the city, but what I really enjoy is getting to know
02:20 and meeting people from other cultures who have come here and made Exeter their home.
02:27 So I very much look forward to meeting you all again in the future, and just wanted to close by saying
02:34 a huge thank you to everyone.
