00:00 So we're here with Vines Funerals, based in the Koseley-Belston area, and Richard Vine.
00:08 Times are tough for people, aren't they Richard?
00:12 Funerals can be a dear game, so there is a direct cremation, is it? I believe.
00:17 Funeral, which is a slightly cheaper option, but you're offering a new service off the back of that.
00:25 Just talk us through what it is that people can get and how much that would cost, Richard.
00:29 Yes, with the rising cost of funerals being a main concern for many families these days,
00:35 a lot of families are opting to go towards the direct cremation, which usually is an unattended service at a crematorium of our choice.
00:44 The problem we found with that service is many families wanted to attend the crematorium to be with their loved one,
00:52 but unable to do that, so we brought in a new service called the Everlasting Tribute Service,
00:59 which takes place at a crematorium of our choice, usually at 9.30 on a morning.
01:06 If a family wants to attend the crematorium, they can do that and have a small intimate service there.
01:12 If for some reason that they couldn't make it to the crematorium or they didn't want to go,
01:18 we enabled the families now to watch the service live as it is happening online in the comfort of their own home.
01:26 We also give the family a copy of the service as a recording on a DVD, a USB or a new product called the Video Book.
01:37 The price for that is £2,000.
01:41 What's a typical funeral, a full-on funeral, what sort of costs are we looking at these days?
01:49 With ourselves, we've rehearsed in one limousine, including the cremation, the minister and all the fees required.
01:57 We would charge something normally around £2,970, but there's been a lot of articles going around about funerals being in excess of £4,000.
02:09 This is a fee that many families are actually very worried about.
02:13 So by having the direct cremation and the video service, it's cutting off a third roughly then, of the price?
02:21 It's basically making what you need to have for a funeral, but also giving the family a bit more flexibility to personalise the funeral without having to spend a lot of money to do so.
02:35 If people want to find out a bit more about the service, how can they find you and get in touch?
02:41 Basically, we've got our website, which is www.vynesfunerals.co.uk.
02:48 On our website is all our prices, all our packages and all the information that you will require.
02:54 Alternatively, you can phone us on 01902 494778.
03:01 You can also email us, which is also on the website, if you need those details.
