The stock of new York Community Bancorp rose sharply on Wednesday following the announcement of a $1 billion capital raise and a leadership shake-up led by former treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin.
According to a press release, as part of the deal, NYCB will receive more than $1 billion in equity from investment firms such as Mnuchin's Liberty Strategic Capital, Hudson Bay Capital and Reverence Capital Partners.
