00:00 Scott is the manager here at the Revive shop. One year in, how's it going?
00:04 Really excellent first year. We've got lots of visitors, lots of donations, lots of customers.
00:11 Excellent, really good. Have you been taken aback by how well it's gone?
00:17 Yeah actually, so I think we were quite conservative with how many customers we
00:24 would get and actually how many donations we've got and we've actually, I think,
00:28 have completely surpassed ourselves. There's probably about double or triple what we actually
00:32 expected. So it's good. It's going out well. So if anyone's thinking about having a clear out,
00:37 anyone's got a house clearance going on, what's the message? Bring it here. You know, we accept
00:43 pretty much everything. The only thing we don't accept is white goods. So we'll take your furniture,
00:47 we'll take your brick and bright, your toys, your books, your clothes. Yeah, bring it here.
00:56 Robson has come through from East Herrington today to drop off a motorbike helmet. Lovely.
01:01 Regular visit to the recycling centre I understand, but first visit to the shop.
01:05 What do you think? Yes it is and it's great. What a difference this place is now. It's one
01:09 of my favourite places to come. I'm just cleaning the garage out for a new scooter,
01:13 too many helmets and I hope it gets a good warm. So have you had a chance to have a look? You
01:18 haven't had a chance to have a look around the shop yet have you? You've just got this drive.
01:20 First time down and I'll have a look around and I've got a few more bits and pieces in the back,
01:25 which are brand new bits and pieces and it's a shame to throw them away if it goes home.
01:29 So you think it's a good idea? It is a very good idea, absolutely.
01:33 Councillor Clare Rowntree, Southern City Council Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder
01:39 for Clean Green City. You must be delighted with how things have gone down here?
01:42 Oh it's been amazing. It's hard to believe that it's been a year already. I could remember
01:48 speaking at the opening and it just doesn't seem long ago at all. But it's absolutely fantastic
01:54 how the facility is being used and people are telling us that they want to clean the greener
01:59 city and we've saved so much waste from going to energy and people have got the opportunity
02:05 to drop items off at the shop. People are using it as well to come in and find some great finds,
02:12 especially during this cost of living crisis. And it's a great opportunity as well to have a bit of
02:16 a spring clean and sort of bring down those items that you think other people might want.
02:21 And have you been taken aback yourself by how successful it's been?
02:23 I really have. It's really surprising how successful it's been and I think the quality
02:30 of the items that people are bringing in as well is really, really surprising. So it just goes to
02:37 show you if you have a look around the house what you can actually find. And I think it's
02:41 important to note as well that the great work that the St Vincent de Paul Society do with
02:47 contributions that are made.
